issues uploading items into the Art Library

I have a PDF file of maps that I am trying to upload (legally obtained not found elsewhere other than the initial source) and it is requesting this upload be one page of the document (I have no issues with that, it makes sense logically), the problem occurs at the end of the upload where it doesn't finish.  It sits with the upload bar at full and won't show the item in my art library.  I am running Google Chrome on a Windows 10 PC with all updates completed. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

PDFs are not  officially supported in the  art library . To load a pdf as an image, you have two ways. One is to create a handout and insert the pdf (1 page at a time per handout) as the handout's image. The other way is to convert the pdf to a jpg and upload it as a normal image.
