[This has been reposted for the purpose of a Clearer title, I apologize to the mods in Advance] Introduction : "Hello new recruit! I hear you would
like to join the Rat’s Guild eh? Well first my name is Merrin, a humble Ratfolk,
the Guild Master. I am generous to those who follow me, and ruthless to those
who cross me. *wink* Anyways I, like many of my kind, like to collect things and
I find my fellow "man" to be particularly interesting. So tell me, why should I add you
to my collection? No, no, don’t worry, you will get every opportunity to
satisfy your desire for adventure as I send you out on quests to add to my, I mean our, Hoard. I’ll even sponsor the whole expedition, transportation, food,
room and board, you’ll live it up as you explore the land. Just think
carefully, because the only way something leaves my collection is broken." Hey Everyone! I
am a Novice DM who has experience with short term campaigns and would
like gather a group of players to do more with. I want a pool of people
from which I can get
ideas from and that I can create games for with the purpose of playing
to complete quests rather than an ongoing "Campaign". As we are all
adults with
changing lives long set commitments can can be difficult to maintain so I
want to
provide a space for episodic adventures that have persistent effects on
the characters and the world. Rat's Guild (Name Pending): The
setting is a Guild of adventures Hosted by a
Ratfolk Guildmaster and his followers who seek out the strangest and
most unique pieces for there collection. He sponsors his adventurers
Quests to add to his hoard, of not only objects, but people as well.
Character join the guild for various reasons, excitement and adventure, a
place where their differences are appreciated, to reach greater heights
than they could on their own power, and a safe haven from their pasts
are among a few. Every character being a unique addition to the Guild,
interacting and
adventuring sometimes together, sometimes apart. They can call on each
other to conquer personal endeavors or work with together on difficult
missions. As a small community of pathfinder players we can talk about
our characters and their adventures OOC as well. The current limit is 20
players (20 characters) with a few of them willing to DM at some point
for others in the group. Guild Format: The Guild
will be a place where participation is necessary, as a guild
member IRL you will maintain a ready to go character and submit quest
ideas that I or a SubDM will make a
reality. Characters themselves will have a starting level of 3-8 and
actively seek to improve themselves and grow as an individual through
taking quest and or interacting with the other members. DMs will post on
a Quest Board when they have an adventure ready with a quest
description and the times they are available then Players with
characters fit for the quest and available at that time will accept the
Quest and work with the DM to prepare. The appropriate way to think
about our games would be a series of interconnected OneShots rather than
a single campaign. Times will vary, and quest topics may be vastly
different from previious ones, but every completed mission wil have a
persistant effect on the world. Between games members are expected to
chat OOC and IC on the forum, there will even be a
Guild Hall for you to idle in when you want to chill for the night! Character Creation: “You are
more than what you appear, different from the rest of your race, but here you
are welcomed as the rare item you are. Do you shoot spells, summon demons, or just slice heads off? No
matter, I take all kinds as long as they’re interesting.Everyone
has a talent; can you talk your way out of trouble or find your way through a
forest? How will you be of use? I have a
few tricks up my sleeve that just might shock you, but I’d like you to be the one to
surprise me. Hehehe…” As I mentioned
players will start at different levels based on their background and the
players experience. Most should start at 5/6 but you are able to be 3-8
at this time. Not every character will adventure together but they will
be part of the same organization. The Pathfinder Books we will be using
are as follows: Pathfinder Core Rulebook , Advanced Player's Guide , Advanced Race Guide , Pathfinder Unchained , and Ulitmate Equipment Anything
not from these core books will require prior approval by me. All Races,
Classes, Archetypes and Racial Trait Variants are also allowed if they
are our core books. The Classes revised in pathfinder unchained are the
version that we will use. We will be using Consolidated Skills, Revised
Action Economy, Limited Magic and an altered version of Esoteric
Materials. A solid Background that encompasses not only story aspects
but also ties in your abilities as a character are required for
acceptance. Quest Idea Submission: "I have Eyes
and Ears far and wide. My followers are always searching for something
new to add to our collection. Sometimes it already belongs to someone
else, it's been lost in a place of peril, it's being held as a relic of
heathens, or offered as a reward but we must help these items reach
their rightful place in our hall. " Considering the Guilds
Goals every player must submit a short but substantial Quest idea that
they would like to see implemented. Things that are required are: Goal of the quest Setting (forbidden forest, wizards keep, sunken ship ect) Reason why the Guild master would be interested Enemies/scenarios that might be involved Please PM me for questions and interest.
