As a DM, I can click on a player's token and hit Control+L to "see" as that player.  Is there an API call for that? I'd love to have an option to automatically "see" as the current token in the turn order.

There is not.  About the best you could hope for would be an API script that would put an Aura on the GM layer that shows the radius of sight from that token (or with some complicated mathematics, a path that shows around all that they can see...)
