Heya, I would like to join this discussion. I am a DM who has some experience running gestalt. Due to life, it has become all but impossible to have a game where people can meet in person and play. This site may be my only hope for gaming and I am in serious withdrawal. I have been DMing since 1980, in all editions except 4th. I am making the switch to Pathfinder from 3.5, and have only the core rulebook. I have a homebrew campaign, (over 20 years in the making and it continues to evolve and grow) that lends itself to high level (epic) advancement nicely, however few players have earned enough respect from me as a DM, to take it there. It takes a lot of time from my family to keep up with a campaign of that caliber and will not waste that on a group that is focused in min/maxing, munchkinism, rules lawyering or sandbox style play. My campaigns are about story, character development, and the harsh reality that adventuring is very dangerous. I do not run campaigns for evil characters. I am willing to run fun games with the above types of players, but it will end LONG before epic. There are some house rules and modifications I use and would discuss them further if there is interest in such. For example, magical healing is weaker and takes longer. Also, I have been using a modified gestalt advancement table, but rather than two class lines you have three, with the secondary line advancing slower than the primary, and a tertiary (third) line advancing slower than the second. At 20th level you would be looking at 20 levels in primary, 11 levels in secondary, and I think 7 in tertiary. Anyway, I am also interested in playing if someone else has already taken the reins, or this does not sound like the type of game you are interested in playing.
