Are there any D&D 3.5 Gestalt games that need another player? Or any DM's looking to start a Gestalt campaign?

Hey, I have been playing d&d 3.5 for over 10 years but I have never gotten the chance to play in a Gestalt campaign. I would love to find one to join! If you are running one, or just wanted to start one, let me know.
Been contemplating starting one, but i have yet made up my mind, let alone found a way to start of a game like that. Though to be honest, I'd rather be a player then a GM. Never liked being a GM. :/
Well starting one would be fairly easy. Roll20 makes sure of that. But if you aren't sure if you want to run, then feel free to wait with me to find a DM who will. I'm sure we will be able to find at least 2 or 3 more players before we do find a DM. And then, if you decide you want to DM, boom, we have a group.
Sure thing... We'll see what the future brings ^_^
Also not a DM but interested. I've been dabbling in some gestalt classes in a homebrew recently and would like to try the full gamut.
3 Players here, now only a GM is needed and we can have a fun game going... The way i see it, Not many GMs are skilled enough to handle a game with Gestalts. So anyone whom do GM Gestalt game rightfully earns my respect. (I'm even tempted to offer "Mentor" status for any skilled GM that is able to run a Gestalt game, and isn't afraid to allow even archetypes or monster characters. After all, a GMs needs some candy too for all the effort they do *grins* )
So I am a new to being a DM and would love to run your campgain as soon as I find out what Gesalts are lol...I have been playing since 3 ED and now mostly play 3.5...so if your will to allow a new GM to do this then Im down.
A gestalt campaign is one in which characters take levels in two classes at once each level, effectively resulting in more powerful/versatile characters. Personally, I've been looking to try out Gestalt for a while now, but I'm nowhere near experienced enough to actually GM it so if I joined, I'd be a player.

What Johnathan said. You take 2 class Levels at each level. You take the higher of the stats (Saves, BAB, Hit Dice, and Skill Points) and you get the class abilities of both. It lets you make incredibly unique characters, however they are more powerful because of the versitility. For example, you could be a Fighter/Wizard and have full BAB progression, bonus feats, and full spellcasting. It does require a good knowledge of the system to play it well and DM it well. However, this is easily cicumvented by having reasonable players who are not just trying to make the most powerful characters. I, for example, like gestalt because it lets you make niche builds, things that don't normally work in 3.5 due to needing to heavily multiclass or due to the feat tax. Here is the SRD link for Gestalting - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/gestaltCharacters.htm *Edit* GMSoftin ninja'd that shit from me as I was typing!
Foctotum is usually my go to secondary class, it truely is amazing.
That's pretty sweet...When do you guys want to start playing this and will it be weekly?
Well, if you are DM'ing, thats up to you. I'm a fan of weekly. My best days are currently Monday and Wednesday. Other days can work, but I will need to move some stuff around. I am in the EST time zone and am free all day and night on those days. We could start at 1AM or 10PM, it wouldn't matter to me.

I would probably go Factotum/Binder and be the "what do we need today" guy for the party. Just go full on versatility and shenanigans. I believe that incarnate would be better, but I have never actually played one. So maybe I should take this chance to do just that.
I believe that incarnate would be better, but I have never actually played one. So maybe I should take this chance to do just that. On a side note, I actually prefer E6, E8, or E10. But mainly because I find that the game becomes less of a "lets build good character and try to work around not having items with class abilities" into a "lets just buy good things and use items as our solution." I find the higher level magic to be "meh."
I can't Play Mondays, also i'm European, so it makes a little hard for me to join EST games. The reason for the inability to play Mondays is because i'm already a GM on that day :/ Saturdays are locked too, as i'm about to join a game there... As for class(es) i got several ideas, but what you have said thus far has actually given me something to think about and now my ideas is balancing on the edge of a sharp blade... (in other words; second guessing my ideas )
Heya, I would like to join this discussion. I am a DM who has some experience running gestalt. Due to life, it has become all but impossible to have a game where people can meet in person and play. This site may be my only hope for gaming and I am in serious withdrawal. I have been DMing since 1980, in all editions except 4th. I am making the switch to Pathfinder from 3.5, and have only the core rulebook. I have a homebrew campaign, (over 20 years in the making and it continues to evolve and grow) that lends itself to high level (epic) advancement nicely, however few players have earned enough respect from me as a DM, to take it there. It takes a lot of time from my family to keep up with a campaign of that caliber and will not waste that on a group that is focused in min/maxing, munchkinism, rules lawyering or sandbox style play. My campaigns are about story, character development, and the harsh reality that adventuring is very dangerous. I do not run campaigns for evil characters. I am willing to run fun games with the above types of players, but it will end LONG before epic. There are some house rules and modifications I use and would discuss them further if there is interest in such. For example, magical healing is weaker and takes longer. Also, I have been using a modified gestalt advancement table, but rather than two class lines you have three, with the secondary line advancing slower than the primary, and a tertiary (third) line advancing slower than the second. At 20th level you would be looking at 20 levels in primary, 11 levels in secondary, and I think 7 in tertiary. Anyway, I am also interested in playing if someone else has already taken the reins, or this does not sound like the type of game you are interested in playing.
I do however have most 3.0/3.5/2nd and1st edition and the basic - immortals boxed sets. I still use some things from all these sources in game, tables, charts, and some of the obscure systems for my own storyline and campaign developments as needed. If I were to run it would be 3.5 mechanics with a gradual change to pathfinder.
Welcome to Roll20. I would be honored to be a player for you. I like your dedication to the craft. I am fine with everything you listed above. If you do run, let me know. It sounds like it would be fun and interesting.
I'm with Equinox on this! My only concern is timezones and when the game is "expected" to play... (What i said about mentor status was not a random joke... a few people and Moderators actually PMed me about it, so instead of replying all PMs i'll let people know here... It was not a joke or some trick to get a GM, but a way to make the GM feel like he can earn something lovely on the sideline while being a GM for a Gestalt game i'm able to play along in)
My schedule is pretty open. I do work every day, but only a few hours and am home usually by sunup, and my desire to game is great. Outside of work I usually pick up my grandson for a couple hours after school. I plan my sleep around whatever I am doing. I am in central time, which is, I think, GMT -6:00. Honestly in a gestalt campaign I see no need for more than a few (3-5) player characters. Any more and it is too cumbersome. Which means the participants of this forum would constitute the bulk of the party, if all participate. And all players must agree to a heightened level of respect for each other and the story we are sharing. If that sounds cool and we can get a time down, I am all but ready to go. I would just need a few days after character creation session to fine tune some stuff. Also I am a complete newb on this site and have no proficiency with the site's abilities, so you can expect that part to be clunky until I level up on it. And would appreciate whatever insight into this I can get.
Sounds awesome. Mondays and Wednesdays work best for me. But I can workaround if need be. I am free all day those days. I am fine with any and all power levels. Add me to Skype. Equin0x90
I can't do any Mondays and Saturdays, as I'm hosting my own game Mondays, and joined a game recently for Saturdays... Though i may be in love with the rogue class, i might actually get "Ranger" for primary class... and maybe... um... well i don't know... needs to thought... Though if monster races is allowed, i'd use an Orc... But it won't be played like the raving blood thirsty brute like the stereotypical one... But it takes bit more explaining...
@Michael D. I'm interested primarily for your game world because I've been doing the same thing (developing one world for a long time, started in 1988). The Gestalt thing is barely relevant. I have to check all the time-zone differences and what days you'd actually be running it (if you are). I'd like to talk first (I use Skype, Teamspeak and Mumble) and go from there.
