NEW PLAYERS, BEGIN HERE: Character Creation, Advancement, Activity, and Inactivity

Hi, so I am new here. My name is Mario, and I am trying to figure out how things work. How does one join a campaign? I understand how to create a character, and stuff, but how do I know what games are running and who is looking for people?

Things are currently changing at G4C and one the things we are working on is integrating new players and making things a bit easier. Thus I will try to consolidate some things for you. Here are a few steps to help you get started. 1) Create a character - Read the first page of this thread for rules on character creation. Basically, it boils down to we only use official and written 5e content in an attempt to ensure game balance. - Then hop into the game and find a new player character sheet and use it to fill out your character sheet. - When you are done, just put a post in this thread saying "Hey my character ("Insert character name here") is done! please sign off on it. One of the DMs of the game will take a look at the sheet make sure all is well and you are good to start playing. 2) Finding a game: look at the Game schedule thread and PM a DM if a game has an opening. We are currently changing the way we do things so there will be more one shot games to incorporate new players.

If you have any token packs, you can share the file that you want to use (or upload it yourself since you are a DM). Otherwise, we can search through the free/pro assets and find an appropriate one. There may still be some unused tokens on the Welcome page of the campaign as well.

Hi, so I am almost done with my making my character, I was just wondering if the revised ranger was allowed here? I know that WotC approved it to be used in a lot of different areas, and does not count as unearthed arcana. If it is allowed then I will switch my character to a ranger. If not then my character should be ready to be approved by a DM. Character: (Thran'Dall the Hunter)

I know WOTC has been trying to fix the ranger and it may be something that we need to look into, but, the material in the books listed at the beginning of this thread are the only ones that have been approved for use.

May be you did have it in there. I just didn't see it as part of your background feature. I would also recommend a lantern or some sort of light... Look forward to seeing you out there. :) -Jim

Well, I'm having problems loading the page right now..&nbsp; You know where to look for a character sheet and we're out of fresh ones; or do you need help navigating Roll20?

I'm pretty sure I'm digging at the right place, probably out of fresh ones. I simply clicked "join game" and all I see are edited ones that I'm afraid to touch.

All the blank sheet were filled out by new players but I'm guessing since they havent been in a game yet they dont have folders yet. I just added a dozen new blank sheets.&nbsp;

Just finished a character sheet in the main game named Onix Mavlyre. Would like a GM to look it over and approve. Also, wouldn't mind a PM to ask some more questions.

Character: (Thran'Dall the Hunter) Your character had been approved before I looked at it, but I did notice that your hp were a little low. At 1st level, you get max +Con bonus. So grats, you got 5 more than you thought you did.

Hi all I just made a second character on the page. I just need a DM to check everything else. He is a tabaxi rogue named Eclipse.

Here are some things I noticed: 1) You are also proficient with hand crossbows. 2) Your saving throws for a rogue are Dex and Int. 3) List all items in Explorer's pack in inventory 4) List thieves tools in your inventory 5) Haunted One background may be allowed, but you need to cite what book it is from and give a description of its perks 6) Your character is heavily encumbered which will cause your movement speed to be drastically reduced. Fix these issues and Eclipse will be approved.

So I fixed everything besides the heavily encumbered thing because I honestly do not know how to fix that without increasing my strength which is something I do want to to with the character because it does not work well.

As long as the weight of your carried combat items do not encumber you, you should be able to drop the pack to fight. But it will affect both your ability to stealth and it will slow travel down. You may just want to dump some items.

Okay I dumped some items. There was a lot things I did not need. It should be ready to go.
