Some general questions for members to have a central place to summarize certain things of interest. Please reply to answer. Please also indicate which of the answers you are flexible about and which are deal-breakers. 1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following:     a) Maps and character tokens?     b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens?     c) Animated die rolls on the map?     d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe?     e) Background mood music while playing? 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be  a range)? 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what?
1. I've enjoyed D&D 3.5E and 5E, AD&D 2e, and Call of Cthulhu pre-7E. 2. I've enjoyed AD&D 5E on Roll20 so far and am joining an AD&D 2E campaign, and expect to enjoy that too. 3. I'd like to try Call of Cthulhu and Pathfinder on Roll20, although for Pathfinder I'd need the GM to lead me by the hand for the first little while. I also would like to try Simple Fantasy System. But I'm open to other members suggesting their favourite systems. 4a. I'm okay with maps and tokens but am fine without them as well. 4b. If maps and tokens are not being used, background art would be great. 4c. I personally don't like animated die rolls, but don't object to them if players or the GM want them. 4d. It can work both ways. In my own games I'll be guided by my assessment of which approach I think the players would enjoy more, or by what the players requested explicitly. 4e. I love the idea of background music but would never impose it on players who don't like it. 5. As a player I like light to medium combat, reasonably difficult mysteries, and some RP. The other elements are optional for me. 6. I prefer light to medium RP but can get into heavy RP if it's done well. In my games it depends what the players want. 7. My life is currently on hold while I wait for badly-needed ocular cataract surgeries in late August and early September, so I can be available pretty much any time I'm awake. The only exceptions are medical appointments, but I currently don't have one scheduled until early July, so June is wide open for me. I do tend to sleep from midnight to abut 7 or 8 am Eastern Time, so I'm likely unavailable then. 8. I'm comfortable with both. 9. My preferred number of player characters is four, but that doesn't necessarily mean four players, as I'm okay with a player controlling as many as four characters. I'm also okay with the GM controlling a character and have played in such a game. I generally dislike very large player character parties unless the game is really a social event rather than a structured adventure. 10. I'm amazed at how quickly people are signing up and hope everyone has a great time here and is fully satisfied with how you benefit from being club members.
1. Savage Worlds, D&D (2e, 5e), Star Wars Edge of the Empire, Pokerole, 13th Age 2. D&D 5e 3. Stars without Number. I might also try Call of Cthulhu sometime.   4a. like 4b. situationally like 4c. haven't tried it 4d. like 4e. love! 5. All of the above, as long as the combat is short and the rest is drawn out longer. 6. Medium to heavy 7. Unless I have another game that day, I am generally available. I have a pretty non-eventful life, unfortunately. 8. Either, though I prefer to be a player online. I've only been a GM offline and I'm still growing in that regard. 9. 3-5 players. Anything more usually gets overwhelming. 10. It's incredibly difficult to find text-only games that I like. Thank you for creating more resources.
1. D&D (2e, 3.5, 5e), D20 Star Wars, Cypher, WoD, Call of Cthulhu. 2. D&D (5e), Cypher, Call of Cthulhu 3. I'm open to trying most systems if the campaign concept is appealing to me.  I'd probably have to say no to super crunchy systems though. 4a. Not a huge fan, but I can tolerate them since most people seem to like them. 4b. I prefer this. 4c. Seems kind of pointless to me, but if the rest of the group likes them I'm fine with it. 4d. Yes please.  4e. If it's done well it can be great, but that's a big if. 5.  All are great but my preference is on story emphasis and roleplaying above everything else. 6.  Not sure how one would define these things, but I guess I lean more to medium given that I have seen what "heavy" roleplay can look like in WoD games.  Roleplaying every little action and emotion can be very tedious. 7. Weekends mostly.  Possibly evenings. 8.  Either.  Considering starting a game, but I'm unsure what it will be. 9. Five as it can absorb one player missing or dropping better than four.  Anything more than that is cumbersome.
1. Mostly D&D, from the first handbook to 1.0, some 3.5 after starting to play again in my forties. 2. D&D 5.0 the most, some 3.5 and 2.5 3. Am open to others, want to get a better handle on 5.0 first 4. a) Like the easy visualization of the battlefield b) Not a fan of background art c) Animated rolls were neat at first, but got old fast. d) Gone back and forth on whispering rolls, but rp should be public unless it is a private situation e) Haven't tried it, would rather let others pick their own music 5. I came from the old school where combat ruled. With that said, my group did a lot more role playing than a lot of others, and a lot more development of character personalities, etc. Am learning how the younger kids tend to do more rp, and less combat, and adjusting. 6. Light or medium RP, but then again, it depends on the campaign. 7. Available evenings eastern time, but have regular games Sunday (table top with family and friends) Tuesday (roll 20) and Thursday (roll 20) 8. I prefer to play, but have found myself GMing, because I have brought newbies into the site to play. 9: No preference, but over 9 or so gets problematic. I have more of an issue with people who seem to try to multitask, and aren't ready when their turn comes up. The Roll20 games don't move as fast as real life table top, and when you have someone who isn't ready, or isn't paying attention, it makes it worse for everyone. 10. Nothing comes to mind
1. I'm mostly experienced with D&D (2e, 3.5e, 4e, 5e), but I've also played some Pathfinder, WoD, d20 modern,  BFRPG, and a few others. 2. I really enjoy playing BFRPG and WoD here. I'm really new to Roll20, so I've only had some light experience here with D&D and a couple of others. 3. There are a lot of systems I want to try (Burning Wheel, Star Wars, and many others). I'm really up for trying new systems, but it would have to be with a GM who is okay with a new player. 4. I have no preference when it comes to any of these. I think maps and tokens help a lot in complicated settings and with combat situations. At the same time, I've had excellent GMs that don't use any of those. I think it's up to the GM if they prefer or not. All of these can be extra flavor, but I'm happy with or without. 5. All of the above! I enjoy combat, but I may be unfamiliar with all the mechanics (though I definitely want to learn more). 6. It feels subjective to define light, medium, and heavy. I really love storytelling, and the collaborative side of RP storytelling is one of my favorite parts. I also know that not everyone loves heavy RP. My answer is going to depend on the group I'm with. If it feels I'm adding too much RP because the group is lighter on that, then I'm happy to tone it down. Heavy RP is only fun when with other people who enjoy it. I'd probably say medium is always good, but I'm happy to emphasize or de-emphasize RP to conform to the group's baseline. 7. My summer schedule is odd, and I have more flexibility. I'm in a game on Sunday nights, and I'll have obligations on a few Monday and Thursday evenings coming up. Right now, I'm pretty open.  I'm in the Pacific timezone. 8. I prefer to play. I would like to GM as well eventually, but I'm completely new to that. I have a lot to learn first. 9. I have no preference on player numbers. 10. I'm glad to find other folks who love text-based RP. I also enjoy PbP/assynchronous text games as well as ones with a set time.
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past?     With perhaps the single exception of BattleTech/Alpha Strike, I'm very much a rules-lite guy and particularly fond of narrative focused systems.  I have an interest in a wide variety of genres so, as long as the rules aren't too crunchy, I'm willing to try most any game. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20?     I've played BFRPG, Dungeon World, The Sprawl, Microscope, FASERIP and D&D 5th edition.  I enjoyed them all (at least with regard to system) but some of the games I was trying to learn to use voice chat and, in the end, I realized I'll never be comfortable gaming in that mode. 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20?     I'd like to try Gumshoe (any of the games derived from that system) and Savage Rifts.  I bought Savage Rifts and Savage Worlds Deluxe edition, because I love the RIFTS setting but not the rule system.  I've found Savage Worlds quite confusing, though, so it would be helpful to have someone school me.  I'd also like to try a game of Traveller (any edition) or maybe Star Frontiers on Roll20. 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? I don't insist on using either (unless I'm running a game and I feel the structure of the game requires it), but often enjoy them both. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? I love evocative background art.  My games are designed to leverage this aspect of Roll20 to best effect, and I also may combine them with maps and character tokens as mentioned above. c) Animated die rolls on the map? I don't care for them.  They bog down my clunky old computer and don't add any benefit to outweigh the problems the performance issues they cause me. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe?    If the situation demands it, I'm fine with it.   e) Background mood music while playing?     I enjoy evocative music and sound effects, but I don't insist on them.  I do frequently use them in my own games.  If they annoy me, I can always turn my speakers down (or off).  I play text games, after all- so the sound isn't really necessary.  ;-) 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)?    I'm a deep immersion role-play guy, at heart, but I enjoy most all aspects of the hobby. 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy?     Heavy- particularly in a text-based game.  In a text game, that means competent writing skills (decent spelling and punctuation and a knack for expressing mood, action, and dialogue with the written word). 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session?     My schedule varies, depending.  It can make it difficult to schedule a game.  I'm working on an idea for structuring a game that may solve that problem, though (stay tuned for more, at some point in the future).  ;-) 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference?     I really enjoy both.  If I had to choose just one, it would be to GM.  I have an idea for how I might be able to wrangle it so that I can enjoy both regularly- even with my wacky schedule.  We'll see how it pans out. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)?     From two to four at a time seems to provide the best combination of relaxed play and in-depth RP.  I'm good with as many as a 6 or 7 though- as long as everyone is polite and patient and focused on the game. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what?     The game I'm creating presently, is very much inspired by  MUSH  ing.  I'm curious if anyone is familiar with this form of online gaming, and how many of our group might have experience with it?  With the advent of online tabletops and MMORPG's, it's mostly dying out, but I feel our text-based groups could leverage a lot of the parts of it that work well, even though Roll20's chat system is far less robust than MUSHcode.
Wow this is so cool I love that you've done this Jack. Here are my answers to your questions :) 1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? Hmm good question here boss. I think I'd have to say that I've enjoyed all of the games that I've ever played either here or elsewhere. As long as you've got a G.M. that's cool with you doing what you want to do. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? Here I've enjoyed a lot of Games I've played BFRPG, Pathfinder (In fact my first pathfinder game was here) D&D of course, I've played CoC as well. I tend to gravitate towards the D&D's of this site Give me a long sword and look out :-) 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? Hmm I don't know if I'd be interested in pushing my Brain to learn a new system beyond the Character sheet learning curve. I wouldn't mind trying Mutants and Masterminds, Hero or something super heroed powered like type game that would be fun. 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? LOVE can't be beat for combat actions like moving, or placement of baduns. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? It's okay to use pictures if you've got your story straight. c) Animated die rolls on the map? LOVE as I love to see my dice rolling on the table :) d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? Oh yes this is vitally important to any sort of game being able to pass note between players or between G.M. and Players. e) Background mood music while playing? I like this it helps with the emersion, but it's not necessary for my total enjoyment of the game. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? I enjoy combat and "RP" 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? I think I'd have to say medium to heavy. 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? During the summer I'm free monday's tuesdays thursdays and alternating sundays. Starting this sunday :) 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? I prefer to play play play but I am hosting my own 3.5 game here on Roll20  9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? Oh boy this is a hard one It depends on how many NPC's are in the party. I'd have to say the maximum I'd be willing to play with would be about 5... Excluding the G.M. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? Um nope I think I'm good with what you've asked however you might want to ask something about the G.M.'s?
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? Shadowrun, Rifts, Vampire, the Masquerade 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? AD&D 2nd ed, Risus, BFRPG, dnd 3.5, dnd 5, 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? Rifts, Shadowrun, Vampire, the Masquerafe 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? both b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? neither c) Animated die rolls on the map? dunno d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? love it e) Background mood music while playing? n/a 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? A mix of all of them 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? ton of bricks 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? most afternoons 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? both 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? enough to survive 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? What is your name? What is your quest? What is your favorite colour?
1/2. Apocalypse World, Anima, Marvel FASERIP, Pathfinder, D20 Classless and other Homebrew. 3. Monster Hearts 2....maybe other Apoc world hacks 4. B more than A, But like tokens/basic layout sometimes, Normally have Animated Die rolls disabled, D Can get annoying especially in text games of nothing but Whispers making things a bit slow/boring, E Always good and if its a bit distracting/not to taste easy to just turn it down. 5. All of the Above really, though more on the RP side. 6. Varys on the type of game, fine with any as long as its fun. 7. Tuesday, Friday, Sunday 8. Player 9. 3-5, with 4 being sweet spot 10. Potato
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? D&D : classic, Adnd 2nd, 3.5, 4th shadowrun and WoD (original) 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? D&D: 3.5 and 5e 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? willing to try most fantasy themed game systems. (Not as interested in scifi but could give a go) 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? Like 100% b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? Doesnt phase me c) Animated die rolls on the map? Cool but not necessary. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? Didnt know this existed lol! But whispering to gm and viceversa is definitely good ^^ e) Background mood music while playing? Nice touch but also not necessary  5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? mystery, problem solving, and RP is more interesting to me than plain combat. 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? i enjoy RP and will play any range... i would prob say medium for most comfort 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? I am in Australia so timezones can make it hard for scheduled games. 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? Player (on Roll20 ... i am not too familiar with how to use the gameroom interface to be able to confidently GM sessions here) i have and do enjoy DMing pen n paper mode 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? I am happy to play with groups of any size ... not as keen on solo play however, unless it's RP relevant for my character in an otherwise regular group setting. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? I'm an aussie mum so find it a bit hard to meet scheduled game times ... however i am keen to play PbPs and willing to give different systems/homebrews a shot
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? The games I like most are Pathfinder, D&D 3.5, 4e, and 5e, World of Darkness, and GURPS. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? I've enjoyed quite a few games on roll20. All those listed in question 1 and many more. 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? I haven't had a chance to play Monsterhearts or Urban Shadows but I would love to join a game of that. Otherwise, I'm open to most game systems. 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? Maps are not necessary, but I do like characters having images to base my imagination on. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? Background art is great and provides a much more real visual for my mind. c) Animated die rolls on the map? I keep the animated dice off as they always seem to lag my roll20 for some reason. Others are free to do as they wish of course. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? I very much love the ability to keep secrets with the GM, especially in World of Darkness games. e) Background mood music while playing? I often play my own music but I will turn on the in-game music if told that there's a particularly good track running. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? I think those are all parts of tabletop RPGs. I enjoy the riddles and RP most though. 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? I think medium RP is best. If it becomes too heavy in RP, it makes me wonder why there was a rule set chosen at all. 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? My schedule is pretty full currently. I have time open so if someone wants me for a game, they can PM me. I will respond with 24 hours unless I am prevented from getting to the internet for longer than that. 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? I do prefer to play unfortunately. I never got used to the spotlight of being GM. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? I prefer there to be 1-3 players, though I'm willing to go up to 5. I much prefer an intimate group of players, so when the party gets larger, it becomes very hard to get a word in edgewise. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what?

1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? D&D 3, 3.5, 5, Pathfinder, Shadowrun 4, 5, WoD, NWoD,  2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? D&D 5e, Shadowrun 4e 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? Burning Wheel 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? Like, especially in dungeon-crawl games, but if the GM is very uncomfortable with their use it can detract from the fun. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? Slightly dislike, unless the art is otherwise relevant: during us what characters and locations look like.  c) Animated die rolls on the map? Dislike. I wouldn't roll on a map irl, and it's a distraction. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? Like. Except in some published modules where players have to adjust for story railroading, I like to play with player/character knowledge differences. e) Background mood music while playing? Like, in text-only games. Dislike lyrical music in voice games. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? I nearly always enjoy combat and rp; I especially like games where there's a genuine ability to stop or prevent combat via rp, but still gain experience. Games where we're relentless lifeforce-absorbing murder hobos who exist to gain power and wealth from those we kill, and are tolerated only because there's a greater evil only we can stop... they're fun sometimes, but it's hard to care about the story if it keeps claiming we're the good guys. Puzzles, riddles, mysteries and puzzle-solving are fun if there's more than one possible solution, but very unfun if there's only one solution that can only be solved by making certain relevant rolls to get information.  6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? Light to medium. Everyone has different styles, and I like to know a group before really getting into more intensive rp; some styles just don't mesh. 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? Right now, Monday - Friday, midday - midnight GMT-5, are my best available days. Some weekends I'm available, some I'm away from the internet. I'm in the middle of hunting for a new job, so my availability may change. 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? I have only GMed once before, so I prefer to play by default... but I hope to try running a one shot module some time soon. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? 2 - 6, depending on the game style. Something with a lot of "dramatic performance" works better with a smaller, intimate number of players. A game where the party can split to pursue different tasks, or one where combat is about numbers and beating mobs down, works fairly well with a larger group (provided the players are familiar enough with the game, or they or the GM are able to answer questions and otherwise assist).  10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? I like to know some things about the GM's play style in advance, like whether they favor rule of cool rule bending or consistent RAW/RAI mechanics, whether the setting is full of genre archetypes like Conan-tough men and fainting damsel women as backdrops for player characters to stand out against or a living setting where NPCs have their own agendas and sometimes interfere with or upstage PCs, and whether they enjoy metagaming the game and letting players instantly share knowledge to strategize or enjoy playing out the choices made from character's limited knowledge. None of these is a choice where only one is ever good, they're all scales and either side can be enjoyable sometimes. I just like to know before joining; making a character for one type of game only to find it's something else entirely can be a big letdown.
1 & 2. What game systems have you enjoyed...? D&D and its offspring (PF/LL/BF), Star Wars (FFG), Traveller, various others 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20?  IDK 4. Within the game interface... I dislike large byte-count graphics that trash my slow connection, especially if it's just "pretty background art".   Otherwise, extra frills are OK. Occasional use of whispers/hidden text is OK; but a large amount can disrupt game flow. 5. I like a mixture of all the elements in RPG. 6. RP is best when varied, IMO: occasionally heavy, more often moderate or light. 7. I'm more interested in Play by Post, but live games are nice, too (at various times). 8. I'd rather play than GM. 9: Preferred number depends on type of game and skills of participants. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked...?  Is it time to play a game now?  :-D
Helen P. said: Is it time to play a game now?  :-D Very much so. :) I've been spending my time playtesting the approach described in the thread "Nebriggah's Domain" and working on NPCs for a one-shot, potentially for solos.

1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? To many to list, Harnmaster for crunchy and Holmes Basic D&D for rules light are my favorites. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? Basic D&D, Marvel Superheros, Pathfinder, 5E D&D, Game of Thrones & ICONS 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? Harnmaster, Starwars, Savage Worlds & Savage Rifts sounds cool (Rifts is one of the better campaign worlds paired with one of the worst rule sets), always willing to try anything 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? c) Animated die rolls on the map? d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? e) Background mood music while playing? All are fine in the right context 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? I like them all and for me a mix of all of them is great, but most important is that everyone have fun so it greatly depends on the mix of players 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? For tabletop heavy is great but it is clunky in PbP so I prefer medium or light for PbP 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? I have a difficult schedule to work around so prefer PbP to live sessions, on the weekends I am spending time with my family, doing something outdoors or playing table top 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? I haven't GMed on Roll20 since I am not sure I am familiar with the interface, for table top I have been a GM for almost 30 years so it has been fun to be a player for a bit 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? Any as long as everyone is into the game 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what?
Since enough members have expresed interest in play by post, I'm going to start the ball rolling on that.
If you're going to run a forum-posting PbP, I recommend a separate Roll20 game area. Otherwise, all the notifications could be nuisance to other members here.

In a recent large size PbP, spread between Roll20 and Discord, we often had 100+ posts daily for a while.

1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? D&D 5e, Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Dungeon World, A Song of Ice and Fire, Traveller, Stars Without Number, Barbarians of Lemuira and Old School Hack. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? D&D 5e, Barbarians of Lemuria and A Song of Ice and Fire 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? Anything that is rule-lite, medieval and low fantasy. Or post apocalyptic. For example, Barbarians of Lemuria, Low Fantasy RPG, World of Hirelings or End of the World RPG. 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following? a) I do like them, but I don't really mind. General pictures and descriptions work for me. I like games that have light and free-form combat. b) Yes, oh definitely yes. c) I think my computer can run them fine, but frankly they're not all that exciting. It's the story/choices that matter, not dice rolls. d) Sometimes, but generally no. I'd rather that the players are open and that the GM does not focus on a single player too much.  e) Love music, so would definitely like some music in my games. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? Combat, Problem-Solving and Dramatic Preformance (may I add in diplomacy?) 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? Medium, leaning to heavy. Roleplaying is fun, and basically what RPG's are all about! 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? Weekends, usually Sunday (Saturday for you Americans).  8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? No preference, I enjoy both. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? 3-4 10. I'm amazed at how quickly people are signing up and hope everyone has a great time here and is fully satisfied with how you benefit from being club members. Why thank you, I'm quite happy that there are more text-only groups here. I'm sure that I will enjoy myself.
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? Dungeons & Dragons (pretty much every edition), Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, Savage Worlds. Used to play WoD a lot, but not really a fan anymore. 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? I ran a Call of Cthulhu one-shot but other than that it's been nothing but 3.5. 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? There's a lot of stuff I own that I've never been able to play. Shadowrun, Gumshoe or Cypher systems, OSR games like Dungeon Crawl Classics. 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? Normally yes. D&D type games pretty much need them, with others it would depend on the circumstances. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? Again, depends on the game. c) Animated die rolls on the map? I don't use them myself. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? Is that the same as /w? No problems with it, I just don't know the command. e) Background mood music while playing? Usually I have R20 sound turned down and my own stuff playing, but nothing against music. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? RP, mystery, some combat, some problem solving, which could include puzzles or riddles but not too much of either one. 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? Are we talking mood, or amount? Medium amount at most, I don't want to read a novel every time someone posts. I guess medium mood too, some drama is nice but I'm not looking for soap operas. 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? Hard to say. The only sure thing is that I'm not available Saturdays. 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? Play mostly, but wouldn't mind GMing from time to time. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? 5-6 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? Not looking for solo or PbP, just not my thing. I like live back-and-forth with a group, but voice chat can get annoying, so text it is. Nice to have this R20 only group, I've lost track of the amount of games I would play except they wanted Discord or Skype.
1. What game systems have you enjoyed playing in the past? 2. What game systems have you enjoyed on Roll20? I've played 2nd edition AD&D, stars without number, basic dnd, and attempted to run a marvel superheroes pbp game. 3. What game systems have you not yet tried, but would like to try on Roll20? I would like to play in a robotech game, twilight 2000, shadow run, Star Wars (d6), and call of Cthulhu. (I've played all these face to face/pen and paper). 4. Within the game interface, do you like or dislike the following: a) Maps and character tokens? Like, but need more options for importing maps. b) Background art instead of maps and character tokens? I'm interested-not sure what's available. c) Animated die rolls on the map? Nice feature but I haven't used it yet. d) Using /t gm to conceal roleplay that other player characters don't observe? Like it; would like to see a group whisper feature.  Perhaps we could select a token or tokens and have a chat function instead of having to manually type names in to whisper. e) Background mood music while playing? I love it, but would like the option to add my own music. 5. Which of combat, mystery, problem-solving, puzzles, riddles, and dramatic performance (commonly called "RP;" including dialogue) do you enjoy during a gaming session (choose all that apply)? All of the above, with a balance of rp and combat. 6. If you enjoy dramatic performance (commonly called "RP"), do you prefer it light, medium, or heavy? Medium. 7. When during a given week are you generally available for a gaming session? Sat 10pm cst for my game that I run, I can run or participate in play by post anytime. 8. Do you prefer to play or GM, or do you have no preference? I prefer to play. 9: What is your preferred number of players in a session (not including GM, and your answer can be a range)? 4-6 players is ideal, but I can deal with more or less. 10. Is there anything I haven't asked that you'd like to add; and, if so, what? Play by post should be its own forum super group, and we need a search filter to find games in that format.
