Yawning Portal Purchase Help

I am new to roll20 and wanted to use the pre-generated material for a game so I purchased the Hidden Shrine module from the Yawning Portal. I set everything up and added one player to test everything and I cannot for the life of me get the map to display for the payers. We can see the tokens all over the map when i remove the fog of war but no map. I have moved the player banner to the correct map in the page screen. any help or suggestions are appreciated. Wayne

That's bizarre.  Can you post a screenshot?

Oh, is it a question of the players see only blackness?  make sure their token's have 'has_sight' checked, and that something is emiting light that is visible to all players.
I added both he GM view and Player view. I did click on the has sight button.

That looks like you still have Fog of War turned on for that page.  Check the page settings for that page in the Page Toolbar.
Fog of war is enabled but if i click to "not enable", it opens the entire map and you can see all tokens but still no map underneath
OKay, when i load a map from the online library everything works like it should. Players can see what I de-fog. This has something to do with the purchased Hidden Shrine module. Screenshots below:

It sounds like you've turned off Fog of War, but not enabled Dynamic Lighting.  Try setting the page like this: Then select a token that has sight, put it in that room with the tree again, then select it again and hit ctrl-L (or cmd-L on mac) to see what the token would see.

Make sure the map is on the map layer, not the GM layer?
This is about as frustrating as it can get. I have done all of the steps described.  First picture is of main game settings This picture is of the settings in the Page toolbar of the map i am trying to display with Map and Background chosen. This one shows advanced settings of character: This is what player sees:

Found your problem! The character has sight, but there is no light on the map. You need to either enable "global lighting" in the settings of your map from the page toolbar, or you need to assign light to the character's token. Emits light 60, dim start 30 with "all players see light" checked is a good start.
You want to put a number in here for how many feet their light emits, like 40 for a torch with dim light starting at 20.
Global lighting does this: Still no map

Just a note, your first image shows you making those settings in the Default Game Settings, but those will only get applied to newly created pages and tokens.  You should make those changes on the existing pages and tokens...

DM Miniton said: Global lighting does this: Still no map This is expected behavior.  Players can only see what their tokens can see, the dynamic lighting obscures the rest of the map.
that doesnt make sense. Why can't the see the walls, stairs, doors, etc... DM view is below

This is probably a silly question, but is the map on the map layer?

I havent deleted or moved anything and that is not a stupid question. I am totally new to Roll20. How do I make sure it is on the map layer?

Using the toolbar on the left, the second icon down selects the layer that you are on. Choose the map layer and then use the pointer to see if you can select the map. If you can't it might be on the gm layer, which players can't see.  Wiki link
Kirsty, you are my F'ing Hero. That is exactly what was wrong. thank you so much for jumping on and helping me work this out!!!!

Awesome!  Glad you got it worked out!  I bet you had selected the map at some point and accidently hit ctrl-shift-k, which moves the selected item to the GM layer.
