It would be better if when copy and paste that the selection goes to the pasted items, instead of remaining on the selected items. This is particularly painful when selecting a number of items to copy and paste, and then ending up having to reselect all of the pasted items to move again together. Thanks!

I can see your point, that you'd want the original image(s) to stay "selected." That said, if what you want to do is paste the selection again, I believe you can do so with the standard paste command. The thing you copied is still on your clipboard.
