[Interest Check] Campaign based in Greek Mythology

Hello, I am looking for players interested in playing a homebrew RPG with a fantasy setting inspired by Greek mythology. -System- Orbis Terrarum Orbis Terrarum is a game system which I wrote which combines some features from the games Harnmaster, 7th Sea, and Alterity. It is based off of d100 mechanics, I have introduced a number of things which liven it up a bit. I must confess that the game isn’t finished, I’m not sure it will ever be, but is in a totally playable state. I think the rules are fairly simple and I tend to run more roleplaying heavy. -Setting- Greek Mythology I want to take a step away from the classic medieval fantasy and play in a more ancient setting. My world his very heavily inspired by real ancient history, however, the fantasy elements are more directly inspired by mythology rather than typical fantasy tropes. I have basically rewritten history with the question, “What if all the myths and legends were basically true.” Also, I am renaming everything so that we can better make it our own. For example, I call the Greeks, Sparatians. This allows us to port over many Greek concepts without being constrained by the historical timeline. -Times- Negotiable Either weekly or every other week, on Fridays or weekends. I want to try and be flexible with this. I work a pretty demanding work schedule, so week days are pretty much out. I am an American living in Germany so CEST timezone. I can do late nights my time which is early afternoon in the States or stupid early my time which is late night in the States. I can be a bit more flexible on a Saturday or Sunday. -What I’m looking for- I like story telling and writing and I put a lot into characters and setting. I also want the game to be more narrative and character centered. In that regard, I am happy to make it a bit of a sandbox. If you want to spend your adventuring building a palace and managing diplomacy, lets do it. That being said, I GM best when I have a fair amount of player involvement. I try and take you to places that you want to go, but I only really know based off of your feedback. If you seem excited by a plot line, I know to flesh it out. If it doesn’t seem to land, I know to get rid of it. I also like to try and take care of minor plot lines between sessions. If one character is having a conversation with a particular noble and it doesn’t really pertain to the rest of the party, let’s see if we can roleplay it between sessions. Usually via text on discord. I am also happy to GM for an already established group that plays well together. Anyway, let me know if you are interested. I am obviously happy to share my PDF for the game and any questions you might have. At this point I am more checking for interest. If I get some feedback, I can hopefully begin running this game in a few weeks.
Sounds cool, and something I'd definitely do. Although I haven't got any experience with any of the games that it takes features from if that's a problem. I'd love to join when it is ready.
I must admit, I'm a sucker for Greek mythology so this is right up my alley. The time seems a little tight for you but hey, the premise sounds mighty interesting.
I feel like Greek Fantasy is horribly underused in tabletop games. You would think that all the great legends and adventures would be great inspiration for your own RPG campaigns. I would definitely be interested personally in a Greek Fantasy campaign. A couple years ago, I actually ran a AD&D 2.5 game with a couple of friends based in a fantastical version of Greece during their Classical Period. I do believe that making a completely unique world directly inspired by Greek Fantasy would be more opportune and potentially more enthralling since it gives everyone more liberty. I would be more than happy to read the PDF you have for your game so far. I also would gladly help you work on it too, if you are interested.
Thank you for your interest. I will be contacting you tomorrow. Sorry, I have been making a map for most of this evening and got a little carried away.
Greek mythology <3 I would so be up for this!
I would be interested in this. Would it be a problem if I don't have experience with any of the systems you mentioned?
I'm a Greek Mythology nut so id be down for this, id like specific times though because I also have a very high demand work schedule so once you get a few people together and have a time frame, id like to try it out
If you're still looking for people, I'd definitely be interested. I've actually been doing a ton of research on Greek mythology recently for a work thing (and bc I love it) so it would be right up my alley right now! I don't have exprerience with the systems you mentioned, but I'm a quick learner.
You guys might like this Agon by John Harper - its built from the ground up to do the whole ancient greek hero thing.
Thanks for the tip.
Hades yes this sounds like an awesome idea, count me in
