Won't start uploading images

This just started today. I was uploading some images and the system still lets me physically choose the file, but then it doesn't do anything. It simply acts as though I never choose the file. I have tried other files with the same effect. All files are png format. Could I get help asap as I have a game in less than four hours.

This seems to be happening in both firefox & chrome which makes me think it is server side.

Okay...I disabled all addons, tried both browsers, restarted the computer...and it still didn't work. Suddenly it started working intermittently...then it quit working again...yes I cleared my cache as well. Multiple times. I'm running Windows 7 Pro, this applies to current versions of chrome & firefox. Firefox55.03 32bit if you are curious. Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113 (Official Build) (64-bit). When it randomly works it isn't too bad, however, when it doesn't it only gets to this point and freezes. It never goes any further.

That might be it, though I didn't get an eror message. I'll try it after my game.

Ok, sorry I couldn't get back to this right away. I decided to delete the images, convert them to jpegs as I had no great need for transparency, and upload them. They went up handily. I would suggest if an error message indicating the limit in the future as that would have eliminated my question altogether. I guess on a positive note the players didn't get this far and now my modular cave is taking up less space.
