Forgot to put in the dates: Game session time would be Fridays @ 4:00 pm PST (7:00 EST) bi-weekly The Spanish Main: The Spanish Main; so named because the Spaniards held such a firm dominance in the region. Their influence extended from what would become Florida almost all the way around to the territory of future Venezuela. The Caribbean of the 1700s was considered to be just an extension of the Spanish Mainland in Europe. The French, English, Dutch, and Colonial Brits also had footholds in the area, mostly island territories, and all bent on purging the islands of its gold. Piracy was rampant, and blood soaked the waves in the quest for glory and riches by any bold enough to take what they wanted by way of cutlass or musket ball. At least, in so far as the books of history would come to tell... Lore of the Shadows... What the lore doesn’t mention, by design or happenstance, is the European powers had crossed the world and entered into a dark land of terror and the unknown. Civilization since the Romans over a millenia and a half earlier had driven back the darkness in Europe - so much so that it only lurked in the deepest shadows - and lay muchly forgotten by the common man. But here, in the New World, dark gods still walked the land, and unholy creatures lurked under the cresting waves or the plethora of jungle-strewn islands throughout the Main - waiting to feast on the terrors of the unprepared, and devour the souls of the righteous and the immoral alike. The Spanish may have bought the native civilizations of the New World to heel, but they did not conquer the land. This campaign would be that of discovery, hunting, and pursuit. The protagonists are set about in this world of myth and shadows given form; at first without compass or bearing as they are press-ganged into serving aboard a British corvette, the Saint Willow, under the cold Captain Alexander Kovat. Opening curtain... An unknown woman was also aboard, and her presence was both an oddity and curiosity, as she was neither sailor nor passenger. However, with their fate forced to serving the ship lest they come under the whip of the wicked first mate, rumors began to spread amongst the other indentured crew that they have left the safety of British waters to those patrolled by the Spaniards. It was said they were hunting for some secret treasure. But fate would determine that they would never find it. The inevitable happened as the Saint Willow came under pursuit and attack by Spanish frigate that raked her decks, and drove the smaller corvette, blinded by night and fog, onto a hidden shoal to flounder and split in twain - tossing any of the remaining crew into the ocean to drown. Room for 4 players. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/88185/on-a-bloo...
