Need help with Macros (Newbie)

Hello everyone. Trying to figure out how macros work, and after hours of trial and error, and a lot of confusion surrounding the rules and abilities of the system on Roll20 I'm beginning to reach the limit of my comprehension. I'm currently playing a campaign of Eon 3 (A swedish RPG) And all of us are trying to figure out if there is a way to ease the dice rolling within roll20's system. The game utilises OBxd6, Which states that, every time you roll a 6, you reroll that 6 and add another dice to it. After having figured out the commands for the system to automaticly reroll 6s (xd6r6) I'm wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to have the system automaticly add an extra dice to every reroll of the 6 and then summarize the total? I'd be really glad if anyone could shed some light on this! Thank you!

So, if you rolled 3d6 and got 3,5,6, you'd keep the 3 and 5, then add in 2d6, potentially ending up with 3,5,4,2 ?
What you are wanting is referred to as  compounding exploding dice mainly you just have to add !! to the end of the dice being rolled, for example xd6!!.

Yeah, I wondered about one of the exploding dice, but it sounds like the 6 is not retained, hence the question.  =D   ! vs !! is only a question of "Do you add the result to that pool (!) or do you add the result to the die that spawned it (!!)"

It keeps rolling until there are no more 6s in the sum.

The problem with the compounding exploding dice is that I don't get how they work, it doesn't exactly show in the "calculation" when rolling 3d6!! It goes (3,12,4) = 19, does the exploding dice keep the 6s in the mix? meaning the 12 was actually 6+6? because if that is the case, the roll would be totally wrong.

Exploding dice add an additional roll on the max:  [1,2,6] -> [1,2,6,5] Compounding exploding dice increase the result of a die when it rolls the max value by another die: [1,2,6] -> [1,2,(6+3)] -> [1,2,9] That's not what you want.  Unfortunately, what you want isn't possible without the API.  The best I could suggest is to take advantage of the highlighting and sorting to let you know when you need to roll more dice and what to ignore: [[ 3d6cs6cf0sa ]] That will put a green border around 6s and they'll always been at the end of the list.
