Closed for applications, sorry! If you want to get in on my next adventure, let me know. Date: Sunday, October 22, 2017 Time: Noon PDT / 3 PM EDT / 7 PM UTC http://everytimezone.com/#2017-10-22,420,cn3 I am a GM looking to start a group for an easy one shot (a game that takes only one session to complete). This is great for beginners, and players new to tabletop RPGs are welcome. I have played hundreds of hours of tabletop RPGs and GMed for about a dozen hours. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $3 via PayPal for one session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Campaign Features We'll be doing the first couple missions which contain some light roleplaying, combat encounters, and bit of delving. The session should take 2-4 hours. This adventure will be run as part of the Adventurers League (AL). If you've never played AL before, there's the D&D Adventurers League Player's Pack , but basically you can just fill out a sheet at the end of the session that tracks your progress if you want to play more D&D in the organized play system. The adventure is for 1st-4th level characters. If you are new to AL, you start at level 1. Application (6-7 seats total) Please post applications and questions here. 18+ only. Voice with Discord is mandatory . 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? If you've never made a D&D 5e character before, pre-generated character sheets are available and recommended. Pre-generated character sheets are at http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/characte... Pick any of the 16 and use the 1st-level sheet. If you are making a custom character, you must use https://orcpub2.com/ and it must show green Adventurer's League Legal in the upper left when you are done. If you've never played D&D 5e before, checkout this video series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoW2CDgztKY&list=P... The Basic Rules for D&D 5e contain all the rules you need to get started for free: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/basicrul... Read the Introduction and Chapters 7-10 (29 pages in total). Why paid GMing? 1. Defray the content costs. I'm hoping to use the money to buy some Marketplace content on Roll20. 2. Prevent flakes. Players (and GMs) are far less likely to miss if there's payment involved. 3. It takes a lot of extra time to GM. I spend 1-2 hours per game-hour prepping. Reading the adventure, taking notes, cross-referencing rules, finding and making tokens, finding and making maps, setting them up in Roll20, adding NPCs to Roll20, going over character sheets, and organizing the session all takes a lot of time outside the game. It's part of the hobby, but as I'm having to put in prep time I'd rather not have to spend so much on the content costs too. LFG Listing.
Hi Lex! I am interested in joining in on this one shot. I would like to bring along a friend of mine that is interested in getting into D&D as well. Both of us are fine with the fee as we would love to support our GMs. He has minimal experience, much like myself before our VirtuaCon session, but he will gladly spend the time going over the suggested material. I will have him post here when he returns on Thursday as he is currently unable to access a computer to post for himself. I just wanted to make you aware so you did not fill the group if having him join was ok. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience My name is Jerry and I am an environmental scientist. My RP experience is not that extensive as I have only played a single one shot session in the past. I played a premade character for my first Adventurer's League game, but would be switching up my class a bit to have a more balanced group this go around. I would like to use my character from that session though. 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? The part that I enjoy most is working together with others to come up with inventive ways to solve problems. I also enjoy the mix of combat, RP, and problem solving that comes with TTRPGs.
Hello again Lex, I would be interested in joining you for this one-shot and am happy to pay the $3. I'd like to play the AL Ranger from our last session with just some changes to the bio/info to make it more personal. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience Although I've only recently got into D&D, I'm a long time RPG and Fantasy fan. My only formal experience with D&D is the one-shot I did with you a little back. I've been putting together a small game to GM for a couple of friends to get them into it though and have been watching a lot of videos and spending time in the roll20 system so I'm coming in with a lot more knowledge than last time. 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? My favorite part of tabletop RPGs is the ability to make the game whatever you want to make it. And although you may not always make the best decisions, they are yours to make.

Hi Lex I would like to play in this one shot. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience. Hi most of my gaming experience dates from the 80's I have recently DM red box odnd games for family. I've recently started learning 5e and my first game was the game you dm'ed during vituacon last week. 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? Solving problems. Not so much the riddle kind, but trying to think up a solution to an issue in the game. When you play its easy to fall into murder hobo mode, much better to try and think or talk the out the situation. Some times that works, other time not so much, but def more fun way to play. ps i have no issues with the fee.
Hi, Lex. Very interested in playing this one-shot with you. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience 33, married, veteran, and virtually no tabletop background. I have always had an interest in it but the timing and location never worked out. I played a couple of Pathfinder one-shots years ago, but will essentially be coming in blind outside of the reference material you posted. 2)What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? I'm interested in forging a camaraderie with other players and getting immersed in an adventure together. I want to take a character and see how he grows, guided by my actions and shaped by the characters and world around him.
I'm very happy to have you guys back for another session! I've sent you invites via PM. I've also invited Andrew to join us.
Hey Lex, If the last seat is still open, I would really like to play. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience I'm 32 years old, married with two kids (and one in the oven). From Denmark. I'm a avid board game play, and plays serveral times a week. Somehow I never tried a tabletop RPG, and I really want to. I've been in a couple of Roll20 sessions, but never got longer than to create my character (with some/a lot of help). 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? Never having tried one, it is a bit hard to say :) but it's beeing a part of a cool story that drives me. Beeing a part of an epic adventure with a awesome party. Hoping to hear from you. Have a nice day. Kind regards Dennis

How did you manage to rack up Bureaucrat achievement on Roll20, playing with 50 other players, and 79 hours played, but you've never played?
There is one seat left. If anyone is interested, please leave an application here.
Hey, Lex, if that last spot hasn't been filled in 11 hours, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience. I'm a 34 year old divorced guy living somewhere in the middle of America. I've been playing 5e with coworkers for a few months now and have really enjoyed it. Family and work issues with the other players have disrupted our regular game, so I thought I'd turn to the internet to see if I can scratch my itch in the cloud. A one-shot should do quite nicely. 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? I enjoy the freedom to do ANYTHING in a game - it really is only limited by one's own creativity and the courage of the DM, right?
Hi Lex, I'm the friend of Jerry's that has been out of town for a couple of weeks and I'm looking to get in on this AL if its still available. 1) Describe yourself and a bit about your roleplaying experience. I've recently got into DnD however I've been into RPGs, science/fantasy fiction novels and a plethora of video games all of my life. I have essentially no DnD experience other than watching videos and series on Twitch. 2) What do you enjoy most about tabletop RPGs? I'm really fascinated with the RP experience and the concept of living vicariously with in a fantasy universe. Best, William
