Odd Audio issues with the Rugged Reroll release.

We had taken a break just after the Rugged Reroll release for the holidays, and upon our return to play this week we've had some strange audio behavior. We have a combination of browsers being used, but all players are seeing the same issues. Browsers include Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. We are also on a variety of platforms -- OSX Maverick for me (the GM), and Windows 7, and one person using Windows Vista (poor lass). We are not using video due to bandwidth issues for a couple players. They live at the fringe of the grid and don't have enough of a pipe to run video, so we just use the audio. Previously, using Flash for audio allowed for local control of the audio for each player. When the audio was enabled, the avatars would convert to the silhouette , and controls for each player's audio would be visible. This would allow me to adjust my mic level, as well as adjust each player's audio volume, letting me level the incoming audio so that I could hear the quieter connections more readily and keep my speakers from being blown out by the louder ones, as well as allowing me to select the device I wanted to use for my audio I/O. Tonight, the audio controls were in the avatars, as expected, but they did nothing. Disabling and re-enabling the A/V didn't make a difference, and swapping between Safari, Chrome, and Firefox didn't make a difference, either. Any ideas as to a possible solution? Thanks, J

At default, the A/V that's used on a post-Rugged Reroll campaign is WebRTC. Under the Video + Audio Chat Tech option on the Settings tab on the sidebar, have you and all of your players set this back to Flash?
The one player on vista said she didn't have the option. We switched back and forth across the board as far as I can tell. J

Edit 2: The only browsers that are tested compliant for Roll20 WebRTC is Chrome and Firefox. Safari does not currently support WebRTC. For WebRTC to work, they need to have the latest updated Firefox and Chrome versions too. From what I gather WebRTC doesn't have the individual person controls. You'll need to stick with Flash for those. Edit: In order for voice/video chat to work, you have to make sure everyone is using the same setting (so everyone is either using Flash or WebRTC collectively). If you're all using Flash and you're not seeing the controls, then we'll have a better idea of what to start digging into. There's also the option of running your Roll20 campaign in Google Hangouts if all else fails too.

While WebRTC does not have the volume sliders for each person (Flash does), I found that WebRTC does a much better job of auto-levelling the voices to make each player's voice output approximately equal.
The flash instance had the sliders/controls for individual audio but the sliders were nonfunctional.

One more question, was this a problem that everyone in your group was having - the nonfunctional sliders? I'm trying to narrow down if this is a browser-specific issue or specific computer issue.
It was across the board.
Any further data? We're going to try the Google+ Hangout for the next session and will also retry the Roll20 environment,

@Josh: I've passed this information upstream to Tokbox, as they're the ones who provide that functionality. Basically anything inside the little Flash video box we don't have any control over, it's just an embedded widget. So hopefully they will be able to fix it on their end. Sorry that we can't be of more assistance.
Thanks, much appreciated.
