Would use the search but can't do to having to tab out because of work every couple seconds. Friends and I are looking to start a game and my question is do we all need to buy D&D or does one of use only have to? Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks

You can all use the SRD, which is the free version of D&D. There are parts of the game options missing, but the essential mechanics of the game are available to play for free. You can download the most recent SRD pdf file directly from Wizards of the Coast at the following link . That same SRD infromation is available free at the Roll20 Compendium .

Do we all have to buy it or just one person? in terms of the market place items for use in Game the person who Owns needs to be the Game creator in respect to modules and add ons and the like but nothing is wrong with you also owning it. the game creator is usally the GM
