Hello All, I'm looking for players who would be interested in running some upcoming one-shot games, as the title suggests. I'm hoping to run a handful of said one-shots until I find a number of players who are open-minded, kind, and create a welcome environment for role-playing and fun. Once we've built a solid group (or groups) of players who are interested in starting up a campaign, I would like to either collaboratively create a setting using microscope/kingdom, or all pitch in for a module. I would also be okay with taking on the task of creating everything, but It may take a bit longer as I am a busy guy. I would like to run something either weekly or biweekly. I have not spent much time as a GM on Roll 20, so I would ask for everyone's patience while I learn this platform and, as thus, some of my content may be more theater of the mind until I get the hang of everything. Tactical combat will be no issues, but making all the macros/commands and porting content to Roll20 in an immersive and beautiful fashion will probably be a no go until I have some more time to figure things out. I've started watching Youtube videos, and researching a bit, but this would be a lot smoother and immersive if we ran a module. I am okay with text, voice, or video communication, but my preferred is generally voice only as my webcam sucks and I haven't bought a new one yet. I have 4-5 players right now, with a loose time slot on specific days (when the planets align just right), but I would love to fill in the gaps and get more games going! I am not a Pro subscriber at the moment, but I would be willing to buy it if we can find a good pool of players and get a consistent schedule going. I'm hesitant to drop a lot of money at the moment, as many of these books I already own the physical copies of . I have played and DMed a lot of games offline, and I am very passionate about D&D, so I hope to meet new friends and go on incredible adventures. What I expect from my players: - Open Mindedness / Judgement free - Kindness / Respect for everyone else at the "table" - Come prepared to play. (Know your character and their skills/abilities/etc, look up spells before your turn, take care of outside business) - Open communication, with other players as well as myself I am okay with new or inexperienced players so long as they conform to the above. I care more about what kind of person you are, and how well we all work together, rather than how many gaming hours you have under your belt. I am always okay with helping folks learn how to play the game, but it would need to be mostly before the session so to not be disrespectful to the other players (who are taking the time out of their busy days) . Questions or back and forth are also okay during the game, I'm just looking to avoid the situation where an individual has no idea how to play their character and has put forth no effort whatsoever to try and learn. Those are the kind of situations that frustrate other players and limit how much fun we all have as a group. UPDATE: Lots of people came to the discord, so please feel free to pop in and chat freely! We are thinking of trying a west marches campaign ATM! What Players should expect from me:- Everything listed above in the player's section - Respect for the mechanics, but Flexible so long as it makes sense, is reasonable, and does not happen constantly (see below - Rewarding players for being true to the narrative, their characters, good role-playing, and creativity. (Bonus XP, special plot hooks, rule flexibility, boons, etc) - Generally speaking 60-70% Role-playing & Exploration, 30-40% Combat encounters. (Can vary a bit with one-shots though) - Availability from 8:00pm - 12:00am (Eastern Time) most days Thanks for reading everyone, and If you are interested in playing together please reply in the format below. Try to be as specific as possible about days/times that you are available, as I have an excel file that helps me group players by availability to make a game.
