My macro query posts words or numbers and I'm not sure how

I've been trying to make a macro that could post either a word or a number with only a single query for awhile now and I finally got it to work but I have no idea why it works. (I wanted to avoid nesting the entire rest of the macro within each possible query choice hence how I ended up here.) [ ](?{Attributes|Strength,@{selected|Strength}) Strength |Intelligence,@{selected|Intelligence}) Intelligence} [[?{Attributes}]] Specifically the part where placing the empty brackets [ ] before the number and placing a parentheses around only the number makes the number not appear.

[]() is the markdown syntax for a url link. The contents of the brackets are the text that should be displayed, and the parentheses contain the link. In the above, you have nothing to display for the link and the link is invalid, so my guess is that it doesn't display anything. It's an interesting way to hack it together, however you may run into problems with the chat log becoming corrupted as this is a hack method.

Well I'm glad to know that there was a proper reason for the behavior. I'll pay attention for any corruption issues. Thanks
