Minimum-size for Chatbox

I've noticed that when expanding the chatbox in a game chat, it's pretty difficult to resize it back to its original size. I think it would be very helpful if there was a minimum vertical and horizontal size for the chatbox, otherwise, you can get this effect (see below image), and resizing it back to a useful size is a hassle.
I don't have much problem getting it back to its original size (or at least close to it) in Firefox. Do you need it to be precisely the starting size for something?

No not precisely the original size, and not for any specific purpose. It just seems like being able to shrink the size of the box to below the starting size is a bug rather than a feature. Shrinking the box doesn't make room for something else and doesn't seem to help in any way. It does seem easier to control in Firefox than in Chrome though for some reason. However, setting a minimum size is such an easy fix it seems to me.
