Well done for keeping the adventures going; and the logs! This'll stand us in good stead later. However, the timeline is not being updated and so can Co-GMs keep an eye on this and make sure we have some idea of when stuff happened. Or are people hand-waving this deliberately so as not to box people in?
Noted. Everyone has gotten lazy. Will attempt to enforce better practices.
Session 118: Generic Title Present: Kailara Springsap, Wood Elf, Green Warden, level 4 (Simon I) Feathers, Beast Green Warden Companion (Simon I) Tannyll, Half-Elf Druid, level 4 (Niko) Zeech, Aarakockra, Monk lvl 4 (Sam) Fritz, Human, Cleric/Wizard lvl 4 (Sam D S) Sharleen, "Human", Barbarian lvl 6 (Taleek) A void temple, I would have thought that would be the last place for me to go. But there I was standing in the hidden temple of the void. Not a place I saw myself going ever. My servant Fritz told me his magical elemental pals wanted to do some void elemental killing. "How barbaric," I thought to myself. "While I would love to slay some evil void elementals, I'm not sure whether my partner Arctantis would enjoy being in such a void filled place," I told my servant. I then turned and asked my partner, "What do you say? Up for some void elemental slaying?" Trying to not sound like a utter barbarian. "I'm always up for killing some void elementals," he responded. Since my partner had no issue with the matter I decided to join my servant in some jolly void hunting. We walked on over to the healing plague's inn. My servant announced that we were going to the void temple and that we would like some aid in the slaying of void elementals. A elven looking lady approached us and said she had nothing better to do so she would like to come with us. No one else approached so we decided to head out and try our luck. When we reached the outskirts of town a pinecone was thrown in our direction. It was our old friend Kailara. She told us that Sharleen had asked her to meat up with her by the temple that we were also on our way to, so we decided to travel together. I don't really trust her, but Sharleen I do trust and she can certainly pull her weight. We started making our way towards the temple and set up camp a few miles away from the entrance. At first the night was calm and silent, but then in the dead of night, a thunder strike. The strike landed just a few feet away from us. Being afraid of being hit I climbed down the tree I was resting in and another strike a few feet closer. We all woke up by the first strike and the second one made us all freeze in place. Were could we go? Then a third strike! We had nowhere to go. The strikes were clearly not natural, they hit the ground next to a group of trees instead of actually hitting one of the trees. After a few somewhat silent seconds we saw something moving in the darkness. We saw some electrified skeletons moving towards us. Thankfully we made a small ditch around our camp site so the thralls had problems getting into the camp. They all piled up on eachother and then when enough of them had fallen into the ditch one of them managed to walk over the others. Our druid made quick work of the ones piled up in the ditch by calling down moonlight on top of them. Maybe two or three thralls actually got a chance to attack us and their generic attacks were too generic to actually hit and when they did their damage was too generic to actually matter. Once the thralls were dealt with we made our way away from the camp site to try and escape this magical storm. We reached the entrance to the temple a short while after sunrise. And there we saw Sharleen the Wielder of the Blade, waiting for us. She seemed surprised but happy nonetheless to see us. We made our way into the temple and started exploring. We made our way North into the temple city. The temple was covered in magical runes that we had no idea what they said, Fritz asked his entourage what they could mean. He told us that they were there to contain the void. Quite the revelation but not something that made us leave. We began clearing the ruins room for room, and there sure was a lot of rooms. In one of those rooms a small bug causing silence zone where we could not hear our own breath. Sharleen squished it and then we kept on walking. We made a right turn and then short after we made another. We walked by a small room with a lovely mirror, looking into it I asked "Hey Fritz don't you wish to touch that mirror," since he often tends to touch everything he can get his hands on I thought that could be a way see what this mirror does. But Sharleen told us to keep walking and did not allow us to get close to the mirror. After making a left turn after the room with the mirror we found some creatures in one of the rooms. We made quick work of these creatures and then kept on exploring. We continued to walk forward and eventually we found that there was a magical rune that was active close by. This one was not a containment rune. Fritz used his magic to try and activate the rune and succeeded. In doing so the rune exploded but before the magical explosion faded, the explosion reversed and reset the trap. We knew that if we kept going that we would risk stepping on one of these eventually so we managed to convince Sharleen that the mirror might be the next puzzle piece we needed. Once back at the mirror we investigated it and observed it. We saw some type of shadow beast in the mirror but it was not there when we turned around meaning that the mirror was probably some type of portal. After some debating and examining we found that, the mirror leads to a type of purple version of the temple, voices on our side could be heard inside the mirror but their sources could not be seen, but that only worked one way so voices inside the mirror could not be heard outside. After determining that the mirror was safe we tied a rope to me and Fritz thinking that we are the most attuned to this elemental land. And Sharleen would be the best bet at pulling us out if something happens. I remained in the front to protect Fritz in a worst case scenario. Almost right after stepping in we heard something walking towards us. We assumed this was the beast we saw earlier and quickly made our way back. Right before we got into the mirror I could see that the fearful beast I heard was in fact just a small wolf pup. After getting back we told the others that the mirror is safe so we all made our way through this time. On the other side the pup was sitting, waiting for us. Sharleen began talking to it and translating for us. The pup told us that his friends would not attack us incase of finding us I did not completely trust him but he seemed to not be too naïve to not realize that we might be considered intruders. When asked he left to fetch one of the older wolves. The larger wolf was named Arklet and shortened to Ark for simplicity. We asked Ark to take us to their leader and so he did. We were taken to a big chamber looking like a den seeing as it was covered in wolves and pups. And in the middle of a big side room a huge wolf was resting. This was the leader of the wolves. Sharleen noticed that there was a sword behind the wolf and she pointed it out so we also could see it. Ark told us it was used to provide power to the area. The big wolf woke up and greeted us in Low Valmari. He knew who we all were. Sharleen Wielder of the Blade, Kailara Warden of the Groove, Fritz Avatar of the Titans, Zeech Birdman Touched by the Half Lands, Tannyll Woman of Decay. He said he was a time elemental and so he knew everything. This confused me for a event that occurred later. He told us that he wishes that we do not harm the inhabitants of the mirror side, as they do not cause any harm to anyone else. He wishes for balance to be kept, and even if the void elementals have a tendency to disrupt this balance, they still are needed for the balance. Fritz being the ever examining fellow asked if there was anyway he could be given the sword. The Nameless One as the wolf asked us to call him. Said that there was a way. He wished for a drop of our blood, seeing as we all were special in some way. I know he had a alterier motive but I don't know what. And Fritz was adamant about acquiring that sword so I was ok with giving him my blood. Kailara however was not. And as such the wolf said he could instead give us a boon in exchange for the essence of one of us. Fritz stepped up in a heartbeat. I did not wish him to do so but he would not be swayed. Since Fritz would not change his mind, and Kailara would not give her blood, Kailara instead persuaded the creature to give us some other task. The Nameless One was quite intrigued by Kailara's boldness and so he accepted. He gave us the task to find two of his prisoners who had escaped previously. Lucky, the gambler who plagued Galv back when it was still only a camp. And the Trickster, a creature full of trickery and deceit. Now this confused me as I was there when we accidentally freed the Trickster. But the wolf acted as if he had no idea how the Trickster escaped. If this was to taunt me, or just pure ignorance I don't know. But I do not like the thought of going back there. The deal was made and the wolf channeled some arcane looking energy. Giving us our boon and giving Fritz the sword. And in return we have to find these creatures and imprison them. I don't know what he wishes to use our blood for, but he now has it, and I know we will have to keep this in mind for the future. We returned to town and we are getting ready to venture to the blue city as I write this. Most of our objectives seem to collide at the blue city, it is the location of a elemental titan mark, it is the last known location of Lucky, and gives us a opportunity at some diplomacy with the city. And as such that finishes the events that transpired. -Zeech

Session 120: Death, Life, Death Again and Fire Beetles Kailara Springsap, Wood Elf, Green Warden, level 4 (Simon I) Feathers, Beast Green Warden Companion (Simon I) Sky, Tabaxi, Rogue lvl 3/Cloud, Tabaxi, Sorcerer lvl 3 (Sam) Nichrome, Human warlock/sorcerer lvl 3 (sam D S) Gabriella "GG" Greatoven, Halfling, Monk, Level 4 (Taleek) After being tricked into trudging through a sewer for several hours by Kailara and the feline friend of hers named Sky I returned to The Pickled Stoat for a much needed drink. Unfortunately as the only Tavern in town it was also where Kailara and Sky went to celebrate whatever the hell it was they succeeded in doing in those stinking tunnels. It seems I'm doomed to never have any peace from that woman. Not long after we arrived a man named Torvaldt stumbled through the door coughing black puffs of smoke all over the place, he was considerably scarred. Kailara seemed to know him which immediately put me off. It was at this point also that a halfling named Gabi appeared with pie. Although I have not been here long I am aware she is somewhat of a celebrity and after eating the food she prepared I can see why. Torvaldt described what had happened to him. He had been scouting the lands near the Sabertooth Hills and something had happened to burn him horribly. The trauma seemed to have caused some memory loss for the scorched man but it seems that he had posted the job to investigate the black scar across the lands which is the reason I had journeyed to Aardal in the first place. After some minor chores we set out under the cover of darkness towards the scarred lands. Along the way we stopped at a temple controlled by quite an unpleasant individual which was heavily guarded by the Iron Fists. As we were on Iron Fists business we seemed to be allowed access other than Kailara whom was forced to wait outside, it seems that she has a similar affect on a lot of those she meets. Sky had business with some sort of Draconic spirit in the depths of the temple. It was a fairly terrifying visage, Gabi seemed calm though so I figured it must be okay, she said she'd seen it before. Sky spoke to the dragon for a few minutes on a topic I didn't really understand and then the dragon grabbed the cat man by the face and squashed him into a bloody mess on the floor, it was all I could do not to lose my lunch but it didn't end there. It proceeded to take the puddle of flesh and bone and form it into another cat-folk, one that was apparently Sky's deceased brother. I didn't really understand what was happening but Gabi assured me that this was what Sky wanted (If I ever tell anyone that I want a dragon spirit to crush me into paste I would like you to lock me away until my senses return). We rested in the temple and headed out to our goal at dusk. We met with Kailara a little ways from the temple and made our way toward the scorched lands. We found the burning of the land was caused by travelling balls of amassed beetles which seemed to turn the air itself to an fiery heat. We followed the path left by the blazing insect tumble weeds to what seemed to be either an origin point or a destination as the beetle balls seemed to be travelling to and from specific locations along several paths scorching a diamond shaped patch across the land. The point we chose to investigate first was a cave located not far into a forest near the northern coast. We attempted to enter the cave that the beetles were now emerging from but couldn't break through. After some investigating Cloud (formerly Sky) determined the spell was a very high level barrier that would imply some sort of Aura defying magical power source had been used to cast it. I attempted to dig underneath the barrier but it went all the way down to the rocky base of the cave. We decided to investigate the other relay point for the insects and began making our way to the South-East toward it. The vast distance between the two point meant we needed to set up camp to avoid the dangers of day break. During the night I awoke to myself being dragged away by Kailara's bird creature, Feathers. I was surrounded by grotesque skeletal creatures with flesh and entrails hanging off them as well as a gaunt, pale man who seemed to be focusing some sort of spell in my direction. It would seem that Kailara had saved my life, I have mixed feelings about this. The wizard and his thralls quickly closed in on us and began attacking Kailara and Feathers. Feathers fell under the weight of their attacks but was quickly healed by Kailara and retreated. I took this opportunity to set these creatures alight. I burned them all as best I could but they all remained standing. Cloud followed suit and used the same spell I did to further weaken the caster and between Kailara and Gabi the bloodied wizard and weakened thralls were finished off. Upon his death the wizard exploded into a ball of necrotic energy causing minor injuries to many of our party but we survived with most of us taking very little damage. At nightfall we carefully made our way into the Sabertooth Hills and found a hole that the beetles were heading into. The heat coming from within was immense. Kailara sent Talons down to investigate but after a few minutes of scouting within the cave system the owl was shot down by some sort of flaming projectile. At this point we decided it best that we make our way back to report our findings. Thankfully after all the horrors of the journey our trip back was uneventful. The both caves need investigating to find the source and purpose of these beetles though it may be difficult to break through the force field at the one entrance, the other seems to be easily accessible though still very dangerous to navigate.

Session 119: Cloak and Dagger, Rumour and Ale Log for session #119 on Sunday the 20th of Novemeber Mission started 38th of Havis and ended 5th of Plenth Present: Sam, Sky, Tabaxi Rogue level 3 Sam DS, Nichrome, Human Variant Warlock/Sorcerer level 3 (Sam D S) - joined later Simon I, Kailara Springsap, Wood Elf Green Warden level 4 & Feathers, Beast Green Warden Companion There I was, haggling buttons and pies, when a perfectly fluffy Tabaxi shows up, puts a gold on the table and starts asking questions. This was in the Pickled Stote, by the by. Now a gold coin is worth more than one pie, so I figured, I might as well have two. Turns out the youngster I bumped into, literally, was some sort of ruffian who my new friend wanted to find. I called Noel over (he knows about ruffians, in fact he sort of is one himself) and together, with Sky, the Tabaxian, in the lead, we set off for the western harbor. Of course we went after dark, but have you ever tried to hide in plain sight out on the streets when you don't even know who is looking for you from you don't even know where? If you have then you know what comes next; we were seen. Luckily these "ruffians" don't seem to have wanted to get rough, for not a mouse showed itself. For hours . So we eventually decided to give up. The next day Sky told me all about the rival gang, about the Red Daggers, and about their plot to overthrow the leadership and take control. I couldn't help but wonder, to myself, why he wanted us to take them all down if they were going to make such a neat job of it themselves, but it was a juicy bit of gossip to be sure. One thing led to another, and well, I might have blabbed. But Sky blabbed first! To me that is. In either case, soon the violence was in the streets and then Sky had the bright idea that we should rile things up a little, encourage them in the right direction. Apparently the right direction is chaos and murder, so yes, that happened. We went about it by spreading the rumors far and wide, and one night I ran up to the hideout and sat a nice red dagger in the door. Things died down shortly after that, and so we decided to see what their hideout held. Sky picked the lock, and I tore down the shelf. Or the shelf tore itself down? Can't say it was my fault; it sort of threw itself at me. If I had been a shelf, and the shelf in question had been a bit fancier I might have been flattered. As thing were I was not, and the dust was nasty too. The room was empty, except for a few boxes, which in turn also were empty, except for a few bottles of cheap wine. Now Noel, he's a drinker, the slurry bucket or the finest beverage in the house; it goes down. He downed one bottle and then we went a prying at the grate in the floor. This time the lockpicking was a no-go so I finally got to use my stone. A big nice, round one. Tap tap went he stone and down the grate went we. Of course there were no ruffians down there anymore. We found a few things down there, a vast sewer network (seemed to be older than the settlement too), a throng of bats, a trap or two and the squiddies. Now, if you've not met a squiddie you'll think they are like squids, only smaller, yes? The name will have fooled you; they are huge, like people sized huge, and their one eye is lidless and it stares at you like the crazed gaze of a demon. Or something. One got Noel in the water, nearly killed him. And then there was the bodies. Dismembered and rotting, someone had dumped them in a shallow part of the sewer pipes. Though the ruffians were indeed gone now, having been reduced in numbers and forced to close shop, a few "permanent" installations were still left. Hidden pressure stones which would reveal a strange image of light, showing a lady with snakes for hair. We figured out that when you push a stone a secret is revealed elsewhere, the first one we found was a small tunnel. It was so small that Talons had to do the honors, and after being smushed once, he finally got past the traps that were set in its ceiling. Returning with a key he was both pleased with himself and displeased with me, but such is life on a feather. The key it turns out, fit in a hole. A keyhole. Now, finding the keyhole was not easy doing, but with Sky braving the water to get to the next stone switch, and Nichrome's, oh yes, Nichrome! Almost forgot about him. He was great let me tell you; best wizard around. Anyway, we picked him up when we found the other exit, that was... well somewhere in the middle, after the first squiddie but before the other ones? Look, you go wandering in a sewer for a day and see how well your timekeeping goes. Anyway, Nichrome, after having fried a few squiddies, was the one who figured out the the key trap. It was this large rock which split in two to reveal a keyhole. Only problem was; it snapped shut on his arm when he used it. I fixed up right as rain and then we went out the newly opened exit. You will not believe where we ended up; the island where all the fancy pants stay. But we found no ruffians there and decided that if anything; we were likely to be mistaken, yes, mistaken , for ruffians ourselves. There's more to the sewers I'm sure, but we'd had enough, the baddies were gone, the squiddies were gone and so was the sweet sweet loot. If there ever was any. Kailara Springsap

Session 121: Kailara the egg thief Present: Kailara; Wood-elf Greenwarden, lvl 5 (Simon I.) Zeech; Aarakockra Monk, lvl 4 (Sam) Litrix; Lizardfolk Greenwarden, lvl 1 (Jimmy) Dear Master Stephanos, I have arrived safely in Kelna on the island of Ardaal. Having asked around I was told to look for her at a tavern called The Pickled Stout, I know, its stupid. Just as I approached the bartender a bunch of people attacked the place to kill Kailara. I joined in the fray with her and a bird-guy, and we took them down. We even captured a Swashbuckling baddie. Kailara and the city guard got info on the rest of the band and the City guards went and took care of them. Kailara has stubbornly refused to listen to me, or my reason to be her. She didn't even seem to remember me as her junior annoyingly enough. So the day after she led us down into the sewers the day after, while I tried to caution her to diplomacy and such over brash action. Would she listen? no. I still don't understand why you sent me to this forsaken island to fetch her.  So we ended up killing loads of inferior Lizard people in the sewer and some slimes, Then we retreated back to the surface and Kailara ran away from me again. I will keep you updated when I find her again. Your Apprentice, Litrix.

Session 122: Dreams and shitty half-elfs Edit by Simon I: 15th of Plenth Present: Zeech; Aarakockra Monk, lvl 4 (Sam) Litrix; Lizardfolk Greenwarden, lvl 1 (Jimmy) Master, after my last letter something strange has happened. I went back to the tavern to look for her, and I met the Bird again, as I was discussing payment for him to help me in my task a Half-elf bard asked us if we wanted a drink and a tale since no ships would be leaving until the following morning. Next thing we remember we are in a dark forest, getting followed by a giant owl and assailed by trees and things. We narrowly escaped the endeavour by jumping over the river and running away from the "Warden of the forest". Suddenly we were outside of a small village called Hearth Home, and we were greeted by a young half-elf maiden, she asked if we were lost, and we really were. She led us into town to her fathers inn. There we had some meagre fare, which I had to spice up with some fingerfood. I overhead a man being bullied by a man, and decided to step in, I delt with him in a timely fashion, but was first accosted by some cultist and then the city guard.  I managed to break out of jail with Thurkear and hide in the city, I lost most of my gear, but spent my time gathering new gear and avoiding the guards. Three days later I met up with Zeech again, and we fled the city to the west.  On our path we came to a mansion where we rested in the dilapidated stables. On the morning after, the mansion was no longer in disrepair, but back to grandeur.  Zeech wanted to enter the main house, but a zombie came out of the door and we fled the area. Suddenly we were back in the tavern and the Half-elf was laughing at having drugged and charmed us.  This enraged me so hard that I went up to my room and started this letter. even tough I wrote one only last night. Hope Kailara sees reason and goes back, so I can leave this damned place. Until my next letter, hope you are well. Litrix.

Session 124: Why did it have to be spiders! Present: Zeech, Aarakockra, Monk lvl 4 (Sam) Tannyll, Half-Elf Druid, lvl 4 (Niko) Litrix, Lizardfolk, Greenwarden lvl 2 (Jimmy) Nichrome, Human Warlock/Sorcerer lvl 4 (Sam D S) I had the delight to explore a new land, Cassea it is called. After news of this land Waerhorn kept on pestering me about going there for some new maps. I took my time and lucky that I persume, the news of the forest fire left me quite smugg and Waerhorn was annoyed to say the least. Eventually he said he would burn down my house if I didn't stop mentioning how he almost sent me to my death. I decided it would be best to not play with fire and just go to this new land and make a map of the surounding area. Maybe stay for some days drink some, talk to the locals and maybe find some fun things to do, but right of the boat I meet a tall blond woman who I met some weeks ago. Tannyll, the druid of, well, apparantly she would prefer me not to mention it. I've learnt that women are indeed strange in this land. They all have things that they refuse to talk about and you are just expected to know these things. Tannyll asked if I was up for some adventuring and I thought that would be a great oppertunity for some gold earning and map making. And as my luck would have it a big lizard man, Eitrix, had just entered the inn. Nitrix and his little cat friend. And as luck would have it I stole one of his dried finger things last time we met. And I waved it about and managed bait him closer. The others in the inn however did not appreaciate the smell of the finger as much. He approached us and I gave him the finger. I introduced Tannyll and Sitrix, the Yitrix seemed to have no issues with joining us for this adventure. We heard the folks at the table next to us speaking of a nearby quarry that needed clearing out. It seemed a small party had gone there and not yet come back. The man who was to clear it was sadly bussy and said he would be back at a later date. Jitrix sat down and asked about this quarry and the woman at the table mentioned a big pay and at this point I thought I should help since I'm such a good person I thought that I could help her. She told us that she was in need of some minerals in this quarry. Before leaving the inn I made sure to pay the man behind the counter. We made our way into the building with the tall watchtower. The man at the entrance was awfully rude to Ditrix but I think Zitrix had it comming being so rude himself and all. Tannyll got to keep her dagger as the man at the door saw no issue with such a small weapon. And Pitrix left his flail and cat behind. When it came to me I explained that I had no weapons on me. He seemed to be unsure about it so he asked to get to search me. He did indeed not find any weapons and so I allowed me to enter. I sat on a bench and listened as Tannyll and one of the men in the room disgussed this quarry. we asked about the missing group and they kept on talking and it got so boring that I started counting feathers on my wings. And once Witrix pulled out one of his frog fingers all the guards got nervous, and that made me nervous so I showed myself the door. I waited for the others and when they joined me we set out. We came to the place we believed to be the quarry. On the way I painted a okay map. Nothing impressive but I guess it will suffice. We began getting ready to clear the place out so I hid on the cliff overlooking the quarry. I couldn't see anything but I didn't really look too closely. I crawled back to the others and told them the quarry seemed empty but that I thought something was not right since it seemed too empty. Tannyll sent her owl familiar in. It got killed, but Tannyll told us that all she knew was that something hairy grabbed it right before it's death. I decided to set up a ambush by hiding in a bush above the quarry. While I laid in wait Tannyll and Gitrix made their way into the quarry. I then had an idea. I made a small illusion bird that slowly walked down the ramp. And out of nowhere a spider jumped my bird. I sprung into action and killed the creature in one swift motion. While two other spiders jumped out of a hole in the wall. They attacked Bitrix and tried to get him but he took it and lived to tell the tale. Tannyll turned into a spider and did what she could to defend the Mitrix. Then we heard some screeching noice. Out of the cave in the quarry a huge spider crawled. She talked to us, in Low Valmari! What ever this being is, she is not just any normal spider and her powers should not be underestimated in the future. Just the sight of this creature could terrify lesser men, but then hearing Low Valmari out of it's mouth. Something sinister made that creature and she should not be triffled with. She called out for us all to stop. And as the others stopped and the spiders stopped in their tracks I decided that would be the wisest choice. Aitrix spoke with the spider, her name is Kyrthissa. She asked why we were there, and when told requested that we do not kill her brood. Citrix told her that there was a safe place to the north where she could got. Karthyssa saw through his bluff. But she seemed to like his attempt at decieving her. So she made us a deal, if we could go north, find a creature she feared, a flytrap of sorts. If we killed this creature she said she would leave the quarry and make her home to the north. I can't deny that I feared this creature, in the future I would prefer to stay away from her. We as she requested and made our way away. She told us of a safe place about a mile to the north which should be safe to rest for the night. A huge rock cloven in two, we used it as shelter and slept soundly. In the morning we made our way back to town, Tannyll felt something was wrong asked if she could stay in town. So Fitrix made for the tavern while I had to finish some dealings I had. After my dealings being done, I found the Kitrix and his beast. To my surprise he actually managed to find another person to come with us. Nichrome, the last time I saw him it did not end well, no ill thoughts between us, but not good. We made our way to the cloven rock we rested at the night before using my map. We then started making our way north of the cloven boulder. Eventually we reached a point where the aura was three but was dwindelling on a four. I said we should go back, Nichrome seemed to agree he was not clear, Hitrix did not agree, he apparntly did not care for our safty and walked away from us in the middle of the conversation. He saw some flowers so he and Nichrome started inspecting, and in the middle of their inspection out of the ground a plant creature crawled through and attacked Nichrome. The plan was a huge vinetrap, it's mouth being filled with a row of theeth looking thorns excreeting acid from them. At the back side of the head there was vines potruding from it. It had the ability to spit acid at us, which covered the ground in acid and could make acid clouds. We did what we could but this beast was not within our ability. But out of the overgrowth a huge centaur creature ran out and charged the Flytrap. Tannyll had found us and came to our rescue. Her charge did a great amount of damage and thanks to it we managed to gather our strength and push through. The creature realized that it was in a bad spott and ran to a nearby tree, attached to it, and then blended with it, and appeared attached to another tree a few feet away from the first one. It then repeated this and made it's escape and we quickly chased after it even though our chances were slight we attempted at the hands of Iitrix. We spent some time searching for it, and when we finally found it, it was poor Nichrome who pulled the short stick again. It reached for him struck him twice and pulled him close, swallowing him whole. But Nichrome was not to be eaten alive, he crawled out of it's mouth and lived to tell the tale. Our centaur friend charged the beast again, though she did not get enough speed to hit with her full force, she still completely decimated the creature. I was no more, thanks to our druid friend Tannyll. Had she not showed up when she did I do not believe I would be here right now. The last time I had to admit to owing someone my life was when the Wielder of the Blade herself saved me. Having killed the creature we came for, we decided to take a short rest to gather our strength. Qitrix spent his time making a plant flail from the remains of the Flytrap. Me, Tannyll and Nichrome spent it examining a seed we found inside the creature. After some time we heared the sound of hooves walking a few feet to our west. Nina, Tannylls owl, and I made our way there to examine the noice. It was a mule, it seemed to not have noticed me so I tried to approuch him to not startle him. As soon as I stepped out of the what vines and leaves that covered me, he turned his gaze in my direction bolting in the other direction. I managed to calm him before he got too far away and I waited patiently for him to be calm enough to approach me. Once he did I examined the bags he had. It seemed that some equipment was gone. For example some of the rations had clearly been eaten. Tannyll eventually made her way over to me and she started gawking at it, making the most hurrendous sounds and it made similar noices back at her, almost like they were talking. After the gawking had ended she fed it some apples that I found in the packs. After this it stayed close to Tannyll at all times. I believe we have given back equipment from the packs like the book we found. It seemed Nichrome and Uitrix did not care for the matter. After our rest we travelled back to the quarry. The spiders did not attack us and one left to fetch Kyrthissa. After providing proof of kill said, we had indeed fullfiled our end of the bargain and as such she would fullfil her end. She promised she would be gone before sunrise, since she is a crawler of the night, she would wait for dark before leaving. But before we left she requested that we entered her lair since she wanted to show us something that could make us happy, and something that would make us not as happy. Titrix as always blidnly entered the cave, not considering the consequenses. Nichrome followed Vitrix and Tannyll, Kyrthissa, and I were the only ones still outside. I knew she was not actively lying but she was hiding something. Tannyll said she would not enter and would wait there. I made the decision that I had what was needed to escape if need be. Once inside we followed her into her lair. She showed us the bones of her pray and once asked, she told us that under the bones something we could need was hidden. Hitrix immediately dove for the bones, almost like he was possessed, he was action way to rash I think. Not someone to trust with delicate situations. Under the bones we found a hammer. Oitrix, just like earlier leapt for the hammer without thought. After being given the hammer, Kyrthissa opened the web to a hole in her lair. And out crawled a skeleton lacking legs. I was surprised to say the least. She said this was what might make us not so happy. Out of the hole crawled Dykrak Dunbargr. He said he had been there for centuries forced to stay in the cave until the hammer found a new wielder. And now that one had been found, he could finally rest. And a third time without consideration, Xitrix left the cave. Not even stopping to let the man, skeleton, say his last words. Thankfully he did not seem to care, as all he wanted to do was rest. *I asked if Kyrthissa would allow us to take anything we found on the corpses. She said we could look, but if we wanted something we would have to make a trade with her. I asked her if she would take gold for a sword I saw, she liked the way the gold looked and told me I could have the sword for five gold coins. I without hesitation accepted, and that is when she realized that I had deceived her. It almost seemed that she was offended that I had made her loose some coin, and she seemed mad about it. She commended me on my succession in tricking her but she wanted us to leave. Odd that she was so offended when all I did was not telling her the swords worth, eventhough our lizard friend tried to trick her into going north to the exact place that dangerous creature was, the thing that she was worried would kill her. But she liked that he did that. Odd how she values her life so little over a old useless piece of sword and some gold coins she can't even use. (Stuff in between stars are not in the actual log)* We left the cave and returned to the town. After returning we found our employer who payed us our gold and wanted her book back which we provided. Eitrix left find another woman to harras. Nichrome found his apprentice in the tavern, quite the odd one indeed. Tannyll I don't know where she left, but I will remember her aid in this adventure. Now I am getting ready to get off this island. I miss the warm fire in my house. And I'm worried Fritz might be using my chair while I'm gone. And besides, I miss the warmth of my bed. And I can never be too far away from that lizard Ritrix. -Zeech Loot: Jimmy The Mace of Dunbargr, a bag of 1000 ball bearings, 1 flask of oil, 2 gems worth 50pg each, 12.5 gold. Session 123: The light of adventure Present: Chran, Protector Aasimar Paladin/Cleric, lvl 3 (Niko) Grut, Bugbear, Bard lvl 1 (Jimmy) Lux, Human, Swashbuckler, Lvl5 (Taleek) Constantin wizard lvl 4 (Joshua) I Constantine Dragomir of house Dragomir, Highborn Noble of the white city and member of the inner circle hereby write this report to the leader of the Iron fists, guardians to our Emperor and his citizens. I found myself in an inn in the new island of Cassea, this inn of course, was nothing special to speak of but it fitted my needs at the time and even more surprising was that fact I managed to see someone I knew in such a far-flung place, Lux was apparently at the inn herself after I had already been staying at the inn it is very odd to keep running into someone so often especial one with such a lust for wandering, well in my opinion at least if that should mean anything but with my standing it should, but I digress, the inn itself was fine if not a little strange a Bugbear if you can believe, he was set to playing a number of instruments his favourite being the bongos apparently but the day went on and I found myself and Lux heading towards the Beach were a party had sprung up apparently this Bugbear, Grut I believe his name was he started playing his Bongos and it made the other beach goers lively and a party was not far from everyone's lips, but this is nonsensical information once again I'm afraid a lot of my report will be like this as not a lot happened, needless to say after I awoke Lux had convinced Grut a man named Chran, a total buffoon truth be told and later on myself into adventuring into this islands unknown, unknown was right as not a lot showed itself us and the only bit of interesting find was an abandoned campsite where the owners appeared dead and taken away the place seemed as good as any to set up camp and rest for the night the next day we ventured on, and upon doing so we met a strange dwarf his name escapes me but he said he was a prospector and he was looking into the minerals in the area when his band were killed by some kind of creature I have no clue what kind but I offered my groups services for protection for a price of course, as he was heading back into town and we were heading deeper inland but even so going deeper inland is safer then going to town alone after one's party had just been killed outright but he refused as was his right to, the day indeed went on and I grew bored so we started heading back to town a few days well wasted but on our way some action at last some silly goblins tried to take us although they had the high ground we had, well I say we, I mean me of course, had more experience but poor Grut got the blunt and took more than a few arrows but he survived but we did have to retreat because of it, it is now we get to the meat of the report it was a few hours later as we were making our way back to town we noticed the fire off in the distance behind us know clue in what happened back there but remembering those Goblins and thinking how utterly mindless they all are leads me to a number of possibility we knew we couldn't outrun the fire as the wind was not with us so we made it to the coast, we were then able to flag down passing ship looking for survivors, it saddens me knowing that newly built town is now gone but it is also good not lot of people were injured but a great number of refugees now exist which is why now being the owner of a shrine well fitted for a large number of people inside and out I will be setting up a refugee camp in the wake of everything the kindness of highborn nobles must know no bounds sometimes, but such is the end of my report. Session 125: Stick men Present: Tannyll, Half-elf druid, level 4 (Niko) Fritz, Human Cleric/Wizard, level 3 (Sam D S) I have recently decided to spend some time away from Borian, I feel the need to go somewhere that I feel a bit more in control of my thoughts. My friend Zeech recently returned from a place called Caseea which isn't very far through the settlement process and is amidst some very interesting plant life.   The journey to the island was quite uneventful and I reached the docks at nightfall. As I moved toward the centre of the hamlet I was pleasantly surprised to see Tannyll, whom I'd accompanied on my last excursion on Borian. The half-elf greeted me and we engaged in some fairly rudimentary small talk. Suddenly we heard a scream coming from what turned out to be the guard barracks. Charles saw a shadowy figure burst out of the rear window and retreat out into the undergrowth. Tannyll and I went to investigate immediately, this was supposed to be a trip to get away from danger for a day or two but it would seem that was too much to ask. Upon reaching the Barracks, the guard out front let us in without the usual confiscation of equipment. He seemed to recognise Tannyll so I thought it best I leave the talking to her as a local. Upon entering the barracks we saw a young woman that had been savagely attacked, the local cleric bustled past us but there was nothing she could do. We questioned the guards briefly but they didn't really get a very good look at the assailant as it reportedly moved very quickly. A posse of guards and Warwynn, the cleric was assembled outside and the captain requested we accompany them in the search for this attacker. It was surmised that the original target was likely supposed to be the captain so it would be expected that further attacks may occur if we were unsuccessful. We tracked the creature to a cave not far from the settlement, it had left occasional markings on trees that seemed to be from barbed vine like appendages. Tannyll had mentioned sentient plant monsters to me when I arrived so it seem like we were dealing with something of that ilk. Being magically sensitive; Tannyll, Warwynn and I, all felt an unsettling magical aura as we approached the cave which only intensified when we entered. The aura had grown to 4 so we were wary of attracting the attention of something dangerous that would seek shelter in such a magically charged place. Almost immediately after entering the cave we came to a crossroads, strange purple mushrooms to our left and a passageway on the opposite side of a fast flowing river straight ahead. We decided it best to check the easier to navigate parts of the cave before attempting the perilous river crossing, although if we return in future my ability to manipulate water should be enough to see any party safely across. We started by investigating the passage to our right and it was not long before we ran into a mass of what seemed to be some sort of cultists of an unknown nature deity. The cultists showed immediate signs of aggression and Tannyll returned in kind, she assumed the form of a large elk and blocked the cultists from escaping the room they were occupying. Many of the cultists used varying forms of natural magics including faery fire and ice knife. Despite their number and magical ability Tannyll, Warwynn and I made short work of them but alerted yet another cultist to our presence, he ran through a nearby door and held it shut behind him. He had obviously not seen the giant elk at this point and thus did not realise the futility in this action. Tannyll knocked down the door and the man with it but the noise alerted several more cultists and some sort of plant like monster. All of which burst from a trap door beneath a carpet in the centre of the room. It was vaguely humanoid in shape but only very loosely and attacked with entwined branches formed into the shape of a shield and spear like appendages. It was a long battle made more difficult by the creatures ability to sap the energies of those it hit with its attacks. Equally troublesome was the cultists mad willingness to hurl themselves onto the creatures spiky protrusions as self sacrifices to further it's healing. Eventually we felled the monstrosity, I brought a sample of it back with me for further study though I will be sure to ensure it is unable to escape or have room to increase in size. The creatures regenerating abilities make me feel such precautions are necessary, I also destroyed the rest of it's husk with holy fire to make sure. Yngte, one of our guard companions had been killed in the fight with the creature. Warwynn had staved off the decaying process but time was still precious if we aimed to revive him. We decided to make our way back and told Warwynn and Nid that we would meet them outside after we we'd spent a few minutes making a final investigative sweep. We made our way back to the junction we had previously been to and instead ventured into the room of mushrooms to the left. The mushrooms were feeding on the magical energies present in the cave but seemed otherwise unremarkable, however Tannyll spotted a statue of a hooded figure wearing a crown of thorns, nothing I recognise but it was certainly ancient. The statue held a box, being the curious type I approached the statue to get a better look and that is when a huge worm like creature emerged and tried to attacked me. Tannyll pulled me back and it quickly became apparent that we had not rested enough since our previous fight to face this creature without backup. We exited the cave and rode back to town so that we could attempt to revive our fallen comrade. I offered some of the cutting I took from the plant creature to Warwynn and the guards in case they also wished to examine it further to see what they could learn from it. With nothing left to do for now we called it a day. Though I recommend sending out a full party of adventurers to clear out the cave fully soon. Warwynn and the guards stated that the creature we slew was far larger than what had attacked earlier so the murderous plant still lurks somewhere within the cave along with who knows how many other cultists and monsters. Tread cautiously. Fritz Igor.

On the 20 th of Plenth, Nichrome ventured out to a job on the island of Aardal. A relatively simple investigation of reported hauntings and strange occurrences in the towns graveyard. After gathering a small party of comrades, he headed to the graveyard stopping along the way to speak to some unnerved looking guards atop the Iron Fist keep. The guards had apparently seen some strange goings on and one had experienced first hand some invisible entity trying to steal his coin purse. Upon arriving, Lux (one of the party gathered prior) spoke to the grave keeper from whom the job had been offered. Oddly the grave keeper was unsullied by the inevitable graft that is required of one who toils outdoors which aroused some suspicions that would later lead to some unfortunate circumstances. The grave keeper left the adventurers to their task and went home. Some time was spent investigating the graveyard but clues to the culprits were few and far between, the most notable being some sand that did not belong in such a place. Eventually Rawr, the groups druidic member sensed something wrong with one of the statues on the outer edge of the graves. It seemed to be housing some sort of dark magical energy and was oriented differently to most of the other statues. A similarly positioned statue on the other side of the graves also gave of the same sense of unease. The group attempted to rotate the statues succeeding with one but accidentally toppling another, at this point the group decided to break open the statue to investigate the core that was radiating such unsettling vibes. Cloud, the tabaxi fired a few shots of eldritch energy toward the fallen statue in an attempt to chip away at the exterior. After a few shots the black core was becoming exposed. At this point Cloud was catapulted 30 feet into the air, only avoiding a messy fall through arcane means. Several other attempts were made to shatter the statue and the majority of successful strikes were quickly followed by those that dealt the damage being hurled skyward. After several strikes on the exposed core a poltergeist appeared looking as though it had taken some damage. The group turned their attentions to the apparition and eventually killed it, the weakened core within the statue crumbled to dust as they dealt the final blow to the spectral monster. It seemed there was a second poltergeist linked to the other statue as the attempts to fling the adventurers into the air continued, luckily they were able to pinpoint the spectres location fairly quickly and deal with it. The group extracted the core from the remaining statue and Nichrome took it to The Suns to have it cleansed or destroyed. After this the group returned to the tavern and Nichrome, accompanied by Cloud went to give the grave keeper the good news that the job had been completed. Something about the man's reaction and general demeanour aroused suspicion in both Nichrome and Cloud but he seemed honest enough in what he was saying, however Nichrome was unable to let the matter go. Accompanied by an unknown companion he decided to search the grave keepers home while the man was out to work. During the investigation two of the towns guards had come by the property and were waiting for the two interlopers outside, though one escaped immediately, Nichrome was pursued doggedly through the town. Eventually after a failed attempt to subdue the fleeing Nichrome, the guard was left with no choice but to fire an arrow. The arrow connected and dealt a serious blow. It is reported that despite making his way back to Haven, Nichrome succumbed to his wounds shortly after. Posted anonymously on several notice boards.

Session 127: Roc Peak Mountain Present: Kailara Springsap, Wood Elf Green Warden, Level 5 (Simon I) Zeech, Arakockra Monk, Level 4 (Sam) Aramil Nailo, Wood Elf Rogue, Level 2 (Derek B) To whom it may concern, I had arrived on Ardaal a few days before writing this letter and was fortunate enough to meet some good people. I arrived in an inn and saw the Arakockra, Zeech, and the Wood Elf, Kailara, sitting in the inn. My first thought was that there are a lot of feathery animals here, the barkeep would have a hard time cleaning up later I imagine. I began talking to Kailara but she ignored me to eat her pies while Zeech introduced himself. It appeared that they were getting ready to go on an adventure so I decided to join them. Just my luck, being able to land an adventure on my first day in Ardaal. As we took off from The Pickled Stoat we decided it would be much faster to get to our destination by flying. It wasn’t until we were outside the city before I knew we were heading to a mountain in search for a large Roc. We were able to fly most of the way in 1 day, Zeech flew on his own while I climbed onto Feather behind Kailara. My was flying great, I never flew before and this was quite exhilarating! I thought I was going to fall off a few times and had to hold on to Kailara for dear life. We had 1 hour left in the morning when we decided to take our second short break on an empty island right before the land with the large mountain that was our destination. As this does not have a name I decided I will call it Roc Peak from here on and this island will be called Specter Island. My reason for this name shall be known shortly. It didn’t take long before we heard a noise on the island near where we set up camp. We decided it would be best to investigate the strange sound stealthily together. As we approached, we noticed that there was a spectral ghost climbing out of the ground. Kailara sent her owl into the air to scout and turns out there were hundreds of these specters all around the island. The nearest one was just over 300 meters away so we decided we would kill the one in front of us and take off. We all counted to 3 and lunged at it, killing it immediately. There were no remains when it died however, it just vanished without a trace. There was no hole where it was trying to come out of and there was no marks on the ground to show that it was ever there. As we took off we decided it would be best to fly toward the ocean to finish our rest. The specters however were making their way to the ocean so we decided to turn around and go inland. As the specters made their way into the ocean, we noticed that the water was turning greenish-blue, the same color as the specters. It was a beautiful sight, but it was scary. I shall mark this island with a circle on the map for you to see the location. As we finished our short rest we went back on our route towards the mountain. As we got closer however, it seemed there was some magical frost that would not allow us to fly without frost resistance. We had to continuously fly lower and lower until we had to walk otherwise we would risk suffering from frostbite. When we landed Kailara checked the aura level and found it to be level 4 near the ocean on the coast line. It was nearly morning when we landed so we decided to set up camp and wait. As morning broke we were able to see snow to our east and large amounts of wildlife to the northwest. Around Roc Peak we were able to see large flocks of birds. Even though this land was colder, the nature was most certainly more plentiful than in other areas of Ardaal. We decided to travel northeast and go around the Roc Peak instead of going straight to the center as it would be safer. We were only able to travel by foot however as flying for extended periods of time would mean we will suffer from frostbite. As we made camp for the second morning near the Roc Peak Mountain, we kept watch with Zeech on first watch, me on second and third, and Kailara on the third and fourth. During Zeech’s watch he woke us up saying that he had seen something in the shrubs near our camp. By the time we looked in that direction however it was gone. I did a quick look around and couldn’t find it so I went back to resting along with Kailara. Zeech decided to climb a tree while we were resting again when he woke us up saying he could not control his body. Kailara walks over to him as he climbs down the tree and he suddenly is fine again. Talk about a weird event huh? This spooked us enough to want to tie ourselves together using the 10 feet of string I brought with me. It wasn’t until 3 rd watch when we were actually attacked. A red wolf like creature and a ghost like troll (we decided to call it a Spectroll) attacked while Kailara and I were on watch. Kailara managed to wake Zeech up by pulling on the string, just in time too as she was attacked by the red wolf and ended up getting swallowed whole! When she got attacked the wolf opened its mouth and a large wormhole just dragged her in, I was scared I wouldn’t see her again. Alas, as we fought on Kailara managed to escape and together we fought the wolf and Spectroll killing them both. Shortly after the death of the wolf however it disintegrated as if it never existed. I had just skinned it and Zeech had taken its head but they disintegrated as well. When we finished and packed up camp we traveled towards Roc Peak Mountain again. When we arrived at the base we were greeted with a beautiful sight! There was a river near the base and the snowy mountains were above us. I wanted to go fishing to see what kind of fish we got, but Zeech said we weren’t at the mountain for that. (You didn’t have to be so mean about it!) Kailara sent her owl to scout ahead and we waited a bit before we decided to move up the mountain ourselves. Half way up Zeech decided he no longer wanted to travel up the mountain, but Feathers was determined to continue moving up. Kailara couldn’t leave Feathers alone so she followed Feathers and I wanted to stick with her. Zeech clearly did not want to continue up the mountain and disappeared. I assumed he would go to the bottom and wait for us to return. So as Kailara, Feathers, and I marched up the mountain I enjoyed some time talking and learning more about my companions. We eventually happened upon a large elven made gate that opened from the inside. There were intricate markings on it and it was clearly man-made, but I couldn’t find any words on it. Kailara helped me onto feathers and we peaked over the top of the gate to see what was on the other side. Inside, there was a large hollowed out tunnel with a similar gate that was broken on the other side. It seems that the camp here was attacked by something large but we could not discern what had attacked. We only knew something large attacked with some kind of weapon and raided everything around. As I investigated the camp site I did find a large feather that weighed about 5 pounds. Let me tell you that this feather was amazing! It was tattered but beautiful, I never saw anything like it! If anything, this feather must prove that there is indeed a large Roc somewhere around these mountains. As we prepared to leave Kailara helped me onto feathers again, but she noticed a side room that we did not check. Kailara quickly checked the room and found a bow, then we left. We did a speed dive down the mountain back to the lower part of the river where we thought Zeech would be waiting. On our way down however, both Kailara and I felt like we were spotted and we were being watched. Not wanting to risk anything when we reached the bottom we continued returning home despite not meeting with Zeech. We did not want to wait too long in fear of attack, but we also didn’t know if Zeech waited for us or not. When we made camp Zeech just showed up shortly afterward and told us that he was actually following us the entire time. I feel hurt that he would just hide from us like that, but I am glad that he is safe. We had to walk our way back to our initial landing area near the ocean before we could fly again. On our way back we flew over Specter Island again, only this time it was different. The island was no longer empty, instead we saw a small tower in the center of the island. There was a large amount of specters around the tower that numbered in the hundreds! In front of all of them, patrolling around the tower was a larger specter that was about 10 feet in height. Kailara decided it would be best to try and communicate so we landed on the top of the tower. I tried to say hello in Draconic while Kailara tried to speak to them in Low Valmari, the specters did not seem to understand, or at least they did not respond. The larger specter just tried to get closer to us as we tried to communicate. Kailara took off with me when we decided not to wait before it was too late. The rest of our trip back was uneventful and we enjoyed our last moments together. This marks the end of our adventure to Roc Peak Mountain. Signed, Aramil Nailo

After some merriment and friendly competition in the Pickled Stoat my master and his assorted companions met with the Gnome Slakwyg to receive details of a pressing matter involving his employer. Lady Farwyn had recently lost a ring with significant sentimental value and was looking to hire people to track the item down and see it safely returned in a discreet manor. Slakwyg informed my master that her Ladyship had visited three places with the ring in the safekeeping of her servant, these places were the graveyard, the White Horses and the House of the Roses. Naturally her servant was immediately incarcerated under suspicion for the theft as he was in possession of the ring up until it's disappearance and no real opportunity to take it from him unwillingly was present. My master and his associates made their way to the Iron Fist keep and interrogated the servant known as Ras. In exchange for purchasing his freedom, Ras told them of what happened and assured them that he did not take the ring but could not understand how or when it was taken. To say the man was uncooperative would be an understatement but eventually he revealed that he was a part of a cult operating within Galv with the purpose of material gain and sowing general misfortune for the people of the city. Members of the cult seemed to come from all over town and were members of several companies including the Suns but identities are kept secret and only the upper echelon of the group wield any notable power and are given code names based on such as Quartz, Jade, Garnet and Spinel which were the ones he knew of. The only name we were given was that of the grave keeper, Kasg. He is apparently the leader of this group and is most likely the one responsible for the theft. Ras also mentioned that he was visited by the thieves guild which is currently plaguing the city, they also expressed significant interest in obtaining the ring but this fact at least shows that the guild are not the ones that took the ring and further reinforces the notion that Kasg and his group are most likely responsible. We restrained Ras and lead him toward Kasg's home so as to confirm his story before sending him on his way. Sirius began investigating the house and eventually picked the lock to gain entry, at this point an ambush was sprung and the group were quickly felled in the initial onslaught by Kasg and a group of crossbow wielding enemies that implemented near impossible shots that made short work of any defences. Luckily a portion of the group were further away and not hit by the first wave which enabled them to appear, deal with the thugs and save the fallen party members. The thugs had stabilised two of the party, presumably to take them prisoner and gain information. When the dust settled Kasg was gone, it seems he teleported somehow (One would assume by means of a magical item as the aura in town was merely one) taking with him the majority of his possessions and information that he had hidden in the walls. Ras had also taken this opportunity to escape, though this was of little consequence it should be noted that he may have been complicit in the ambush of my master a man of noble heritage and good standing so it is recommended that he be imprisoned or summarily executed on sight. My master intends to continue his interest in this matter and will assemble another group to ensure the resolution of this issue. Notary Able in service of his Lordship Bartholomew Silva. Copies forwarded to the relevant companies.

Session 129: Death beneath the Graves. Present: Kailara Spingsap, Wood Elf Green Warden lvl 5 (Simon l) Udrin, dwarven wizard, lvl 3, (TPK) Seven Thunderclouds, tabaxi, wizard lvl 1, (Jimmy) Zeech, Aarakockra, Monk lvl 4 (Sam) Bartholomew Silva, Human Barbarian lvl 1 (Sam D S) From the desk of Bartholomew Silva, House Silva. I write this report personally at the behest of the Iron Fists in response to an incident brought before them. While continuing our pursuit of Lady Farwyn's stolen jewelry and investigation into the Daywalker's our group, which included Udrin, Zeech, Thunder, Kailara and myself, made our way to the Iron fist keep to speak with the warden about any additional information he may have come across since our previous foray on the island. Warden Jonathon indicated that suspicious activity had been reported taking place around the docks and that a member of the Daywalker's had been detained but died quickly afterwards, this detainee was wearing some finer quality robes than was described to us as lower ranking attire so it could be surmised they were silenced to prevent any information being leaked. Upon leaving the Keep I suggested we check the graveyard for clues as it was where the Daywalker's leader, Klasg spent most of his time. After a short investigation of the area we discovered an illusion disguising the ground in the corner of the graveyard. Kailara's pet, Feathers dug down to a tunnel system of some sort and everyone other than Zeech dropped down the cave network. After a minute or so in the tunnels Kailara attempted to send her other pet, an owl of some sort to relay a message to Zeech. The hole through which we had originally entered was now gone, we were certain we'd gone to the right point but it seemed we were trapped. That's when the rumbling started. Ten minutes later a remorhaz and two gravel elementals showed up. I had been knocked out early in the fight but recovered and began to chip away at the various powerful enemies. During this time Udrin the dwarf was also knocked out, Thunder attempted to revive him through the use of a healing potion but was unfortunately struck down by the remorhaz in a blow that turned out to kill him instantly. In the heat of battle Kailara decided to get her owl to bring me the opened potion that Thunder gave his life to try and deliver I took it but I decided putting down the creatures quickly was more important than my own safety. Eventually between Kailara and my efforts we were able to dispatch the last of the powerful elementals. The moment the last enemy fell Kailara tried to revive Thunder a process which was taking intense concentration. I readied myself in case more enmies showed while she was tending to our comrade and Udrin... Udrin immediately flew into a rage demanding that I pay him 50gp, saying that I took something of his and even trying to get me to sign a contract with my families crest. The dwarf was incessant and would not take no as an answer. Upon realising he was making no progress with me (I do not allow commoners to make demands of me and nor should I) the dwarf began pestering Kailara while she was trying to prevent the death of our companion which she failed, in my opinion partly thanks to the dwarf's constant annoyance. The dwarf returned to me and when I attempted to move away from him he tried to restrain me (while I do not allow commoners to make demands of me, I really don't allow them to lay their hands on me without permission). Naturally this failed and I escaped his grasp. At this time the dwarf moved over to my lantern, my only source of vision in the pitch dark enemy filled caverns and snuffed it out leaving me completely blind. Kailara moved over and relit it but the dwarf still in his tantrum put it back out, removed the oil and threw the lamp away. Seeing that the dwarf could not be reasoned with and was an ever increasing danger to the remaining members of our party Kailara lost her temper and decided it would be better to knock the dwarf out. A decision that I, in my now blind and vulnerable state entirely agreed with and intended to help her achieve. I do not know what happened in the following battle as I could not see but I know that the dwarf was dealt with, restrained and had received medical attention from Kailara as he had done throughout the previous battle which would have surely claimed his life. I tried to assist the dwarf in escaping the cavern as a show of good faith when we were found by the rescue party but he continued to threaten me and so I left him to make his own way out. I was willing to let these transgressions slide as the dwarf has been in a stressful encounter and nearly died but his actions following the incident show that he is of the lowest order. I would like to bring charges against the dwarf Udrin for endangering his fellow party members while they tried to complete a mission because he was blinded by his own obsession with wealth. Session 130: Frigid Bits Present: Litrix, Lizardfolk, Greenwarden lvl 2 (Jimmy) Zeech, Aarakockra, Monk lvl 4 (Sam) Bartholomew, Human, Paladin/Barbarian lvl 2 (Sam D S) Kailara, Wood Elf, Green Warden lvl 5 (Simon I.) Lux, Human, Rogue lvl 5 (Taleek) If the cold is not to be feared, then maybe what lies hidden in the snow should be. I will be transcribing the events following me and the others in our party setting out to the northern part of Ardal. Before setting out we all met eachother in the inn like most adventurers do. Kailara and Pitrix entered the inn after finishing their jousting in the streets. As always Kailara was audible so hearing what she was talking about was not an issue. She was talking with Mitrix about heading out to examining why all the fauna in the area had disappeared so quickly. Knowing her, I thought it would be best to avoid her, so I tried avoiding eye contact with her and just try and look down into my glass. Kailara made it known to all the patrons at the bar that she was looking for people to join her on said adventure. Bartholomew heard Kailara and asked to join her and Ritrix, at first this made me glad, means I wouldn't have to listen to Kailara's yapping. Sadly I did not consider that Bartholomew would ask me to join too. When he did I felt that I could hardly decline a noble, but I had to make sure the pay was any good before blindly following Kailara into another death trap. She told us she would pay us one hundred gold if we joined her for the mission and completed it, but then Bartholomew took out the job notice of this mission which clearly stated that we would be payed two thousand gold for this mission. So Bartholomew commended Kailara on her willingness to give up three hundred gold out of her share and give to us just so this mission could be completed. And so it was decided that Kailara would give one hundred gold of her share to every member of the party. When we had everything ready we left for the Black Lion's guild hall to talk to the person who would be paying us. We were introduced to sergeant Linmar who also thought it was very commendable of Kailara to offer us all that gold. He told us about our mission to find any information on why the fauna and creatures of the island had disappeared so mysteriously. The sergeant showed us a map showing the area we were heading to. Being a master cartographer I decided to copy it, and I have to say, I did a great job at it. The sergeant did also tell us that we should go to the Red Dragon Brigade to see if they might be willing to ferry us towards the area we were to investigate. So with out map and a new destination we headed out towards the Brigade's guild hall in Kelna. Once we arrived at it the man at the door would not allow any of us, except for Bartholomew, indoors. He was even as barbaric as to call me a beast, I could only muster a slight laugh and inform him that I was definitely more civilized than him, and that I would gladly oblige. We others waited outside and when Bartholomew returned he told us that he had procured us a ferry to the Brigade's keep island to the north of Kelna. Once onboard the ferry we took the time to rest up for the long journey we had in front of us. At some point along the way we met Lux who wanted to join us on this mission. Though I was anxious to say the least, about letting Lux near me, I think any past events might have been forgotten, and it would be good for us all if that was the case. The ferry carried us to the Brigade's keep island and then we had a short break to stretch our legs. But soon after we were on the ferry again, this time going to the reclaimed shrine. When we were halfway there our dear friend Kailara told us that she would meet us at the shrine and took off towards the main land. So when we arrived we had to wait the night out for Kailara. Once dawn had almost arrived Kailara returned. We decided that we would best the day of this island for once, though the aura was slightly higher, we didn't really fear the slight increase in aura, yet. We made our way as far north as we could move in the snowy weather. While walking we encountered some ravens. Kailara stopped to speak to them and apparently a large cat like beast has been hunting them to the north, could this be the source of the missing animals? That remains to be seen. We did not get far in the harsh climate so we looked for a place to settle down for the night. We found some slight shelter by the ruins of some buildings. We took shelter in one of these and slept for the night. I woke to the sound of fighting and yelling from my other party members. Sitrix was gone, Lux was still in her tent, Kailara was channeling her spells, and Bartholomew was surrounded. No, we were all surrounded. By ice elementals in the shape of snakes. I quickly got up on my feet and almost immediately got a couple of ice knives sent towards me. I managed to dodge them with ease and then turned my attention towards the snakes right next to me. I quickly got into my fighting stance and kicked and jabbed at two of them, killing them instantly. It seemed that blunt force was more effective against them. Once they died they would explode in a small explosion of ice, I managed to dodge them all perfectly, but I still got hit from some unavoidable cold. I noticed that the snakes had seen Bartholomew as quite a good target and had all started to surround him so I stepped towards him to try and aid him. The snakes quickly gathered around us and I noticed that attempting to aid Bartholomew had put me in a bad position. I could notice that Lux had ran off to hide in some bushes meaning that both the lizard man and Lux had abandoned us so it was three against a hoard of snakes. All hope was not lost though, Kailara had summoned a great amount of magical spirits to aid us in killing the snakes. It began to look grim for both me and Bartholomew though as the snakes sent more ice knives to us. I managed to avoid most of them, but it was not easy to survive. Kailara's companion Feathers tried to carry me away, maybe she has finally seen something in me. Thought I can not deny that I noticed that she was looking to see who would reach out to her, and I can not deny that Bartholomew did not. I might be a greedy son of a bitch, I might care for nought but myself, but I can respect a man giving his life for another. Rest assured I will not let Bartholomew's name be forgotten. Sadly Feathers attempt did not save either of us. The snakes did not give in and kept on hammering us. When I saw a opportunity I dodged out of the snakes way, and took to the air, up there I could gather collect myself and chug a health potion. I was on my way down to hand one to Bartholomew too but Kailara was to quick for me and put him on Feathers and had Feathers carry him. The snakes realized that they were not going to be able to best us and tried to scatter, we did not let them. We dealt with the last of them and then saw what we could do about Bartholomew. There was nothing to be done, he was already gone. We decided figuring out how we would be able to escort the body back. Lux obviously had no intention of aiding us, and Bartholomew was dead. We were clearly in over our heads and outnumbered. We managed to get our bearings together and we found out how we would be able to carry Bartholomew's body back. We managed to return to the shrine and we talked to one of the guards and had him make arrangements for Bartholomew's body to be transported. Since the ferry does not normally go to the shrine we had to travel to town on foot, and so we did. Once we got back,we stopped outside the town because we notice a bunch of magical lights, a group of colorful balls hovering around the plains. We knew that there was a mission out for investigation of these balls so we tried to find any information we could. We noticed that the balls behaved almost like magnets with eachother. They would slightly repel eachother, but could be pushed together which would make their hue slightly deeper. The darker it got, the stronger it would repel other balls. Kailara and Kitrix ran around like mad men and made two balls as dark as they could. Once they had, they pushed them together and they combined into one huge purple sphere. The sphere started to pull all the other balls together into it, and slowly it grew larger as it absorbed the balls. Both the Lizard man and Kailara had been inside the balls and I had been sitting beside them observing. Later they told me that the ball was like a pocket dimension. Every sound inside could not be heard outside, and wise versa. Kailara also told me that the sphere was a anti-magic zone, inside the aura was zero. Kailara and Qitrix decided that they wanted to stay the night inside the ball. I did not trust it so I flew to the town walls and slept there. In the morning I went to the White Horses and found Bori Brightmaster. I told him about our findings and at first he was unsure, but when night fell and he saw the glowing sphere from town he decided he couldn't stay without examining it. So I took him to the location. He examined it, and found that we indeed told him the truth about the balls. The Lizardman was very adamant on having Mr. Brightmaster enter it, so far that he pushed the little gnome into the ball. He then went to fetch the traumatized gnome, and I offered to cut off Sitrix's hands if he tried it again. The gnome said he would not want any violence and only wanted to go back to town, so I took him. And then we gathered at the Pickled Stoat to split out shares. And those were the events happening during our expedition to the northern part of the island.                                                                                                                                                                                                      -Zeech

(Dated 6th of Calsar 987) After grabbing this mission from the notice board i went to the in where i found my self in a company of a hafling name gabriella full of energy, and when i told i was going on a perticular treasure hunt she seemed very eager to join,  after a while  my old friend Lyndis came to the same in,  asked her if she also wanted to join, not as eager as gabriella but after a while we agreed to do this hunt. we started to talk to Cardus  for more info where and what we where up against. so we whent around to talk to diffrent   people. and then we where set and rdy to set out, tok us 3 days with boat to get there, and 4-5 miles inlands to get to this tomb. the door it self is triggered by magic, we found a way to  make it safe for us to go in.  the place is magical.  so we headed in, seems like small giants have lived here a time ago.  so going in  to find this relic  we was supposed to get,  the relic it self was triggered with traps and a mechanical snake that we tok care of, also some few spider ish creatures 4 young and one eldar.  we found this room, with a magical broom cleaning with 4 looking expermient that zaps you if you try to pass, so the tomb it self is not cleared and highly recommend  a party of minimum 4 with magical healing or some of that sort to get past these.  so of course we got our own share of loot.  so after grabbiing for what we came for we headed back, manage to reclose the door with it magic so no  poor soul think it safe to enter.  also regard that Lyndish managed to destroy 40 scrolls of magic  that the white horse have gotten, to try to salvage something from these scrolls that conclude we managde to do what we was supposed to do and give this relic to our employe.  regard Ekru

Session 132: Sidetracked Present Althea Amakiir, Half-elf bard, level 3 (VRH) Ekru, Human Warlock, level 3 (Luchie) Haraldr, Human Fighter, level 3 (Wolf) Nozan, Dwarf Fighter, level 2 (Mem) Kailara, Wood-Elf Green Warden, level 5 (Ithiloneth) Date: (to be added) After one day of marching we camped in a shallow cave, during the day while we were resting we were set upon by a mummified corpse, essentially a puppeteer controlling a ghost that attacked us. After defeating them the mummy puppeteer turned into a beetle, it was damaged but that might have been from the battle. I detected necromancy on it, and can fairly safely conclude that the mummy was animated by a necromancer, and that there are more of these around. I am likely to recognise them should i encounter more. Certain that the necromancer would know its mummy had fallen, but not knowing whether said necromancer could tell where, we decided to move on. Another 4 days north east, to in the very northern part of the massive scorched scathes of land we arrived in a wood that gave me a disturbing and unusual sense of peace, safety and simply beefing home. This enchanted wood is recognisable by the 200 foot diameter tree circle, its not an open circle but it is noticeably a circle. In the middle stands 4 trees emanating enchantment magic, glowing green bubbles growing on them, these are goodberrys. Be warned however, the trees are clearly planted by someone and it gives you this homely sensation, especially as i ate one of the goodberrys i struggled to leave at all. Something to keep in mind for those weak of will. We continued onwards following Kailara and came upon a cave entrance embedded in a small hill, we decided to enter. Inside we found ladders leading down a hole, at the bottom more tunnels. These had visible claw marks on them and eventually we also found some writing. The writing was close enough to High Valkari that i could translate it and it made it clear that the caves were once a method of punishment. Elves would be trapped down here to be killed by the creature who made the claw marks, it is clear to me that these sacrifices were made as dictated by a cycle but i cannot say what the cycle revolves around. This would explain the two skeletons we found in the caverns. Pushing onwards we walked past a deep pool of water, after disturbing the water some octopod monstrosity emerged, we killed it and pressed on. Finding the remnants of some scribes and their books that the White Horses were looking for. In the end of the tunnel we found something that was seemingly trapped by building a wall behind it. We suspect whatever it was, is what left the claw marks on the walls. There was also a ladder, it lead up to a massive cavern with a walkway leading up to the statue of a 12 legged spider, inside its mouth was an altar and when we placed food on it, spiders showed up and carried it away. I cannot say where. I do not know what god this was, or if it was one at all but the statue seemed very much like a shrine, i can however say that you are likely to get a reaction if you learn what this creature eats and places it on the altar. We did not linger for too long but instead headed back out, on our way we discovered that spiders had eaten the monstrosity clean. Finally it must be mentioned that Kailara, our guide fled the caves after i found the writing on the walls detailing the sacrificial punishment. She waited outside and came back with us but her lack of spine and willingness to leave her companions to fend for themselves is to be taken note of.

Session 108: End Game 1: The Beginning of the End Played on the Second of October in the year 2016 Present: Cain; Human Paladin, lvl 6 (Sloth) Mindartis; Sithi Warlock/Rogue/Fighter Thingy, lvl 6 (Josh S) Ffiona; Human Ranger, lvl 5 (Seraphina) Tarville; Human Cleric/Fighter, lvl 5 (Jon R) Malagven; Dark Elf Warlock/Sorcerer, lvl 4 (Niko S) Ezekiel Boone; Human Ranger/Fighter, lvl 4 (Zilarrezko) Dear Linny, I'm not a happy bunny. I hope you and Emerald are seeing better times. Seahold has been my home for quite a few months now. My day-to-day routine typically involving the care of the animals, and the occasional hunt, or scout of the area. One day, while the others were out building up our relationship with the Feather Ashanni, I was delivered a letter that had been sent from Mindartis, telling me I was needed and to meet him just south of the Forest of Shadows. I left a note for the others to find, telling them I was sorry I had to leave, and wished them well. I made my way around the outskirts of the forest, though the forest seemed mostly dormant. After a while though, I found myself for the first time in a very long while, not knowing which direction to go. Feeling lost in nature is not something I'm familiar with as you know. I must admit I froze when the realization struck me. Fortunately, the sorcerer named Malacus, found me. Malacus gave me the remnants of a prophecy that if Ulric the sorcerer was not returned to the world of men, the tides of fate would shift towards evil, and Arorn would wake far before his time. He then teleported me to where Mindartis was. Mindartis was happy to see me, though he spoke little. We moved towards Hesard's Ford bumping into Tarville, Cain, Boone & a man I had never met before; Malagven. Tarville, as ever, was delighted to see me. I was very happy to see him, but our happiness was short-lived as the talk changed to war. The fleet of the Red Emperor has arrived, and has brought war with it Linny. Haven is under siege, and that the fate of the people of Haven is unknown. The veiled one is still in Haven, in the burrows. Mindartis was hopeful that Ulric could help get her out of Haven safely. We moved to find some shelter in a nearby bothy that many of us were already familiar with, the group informed me that the people of Haven that escaped were told to run to the Vale and were being escorted by many Sashes. I hope they get there safe, and are safe while there. When we got to the bothy, a Blue Sash fled at the sight of us. We called out telling him we were friendly, but he kept running. He had left behind a pot of mutton stew, which we didn't waste. We set up camp and slept, setting watches. In the morning Mindartis informed us he had been visited by Snowmantle during his watch. He spoke of how Snowmantle taunted Mindartis but also attempted to flatter him; he wanted to know what we were all up to. After Mindartis had told us of this encounter, I left to hunt us something to fill out what remained of the mutton stew. While we ate, we chatted of better times, and worries of the future. Once we finished breakfast, we moved forward into the woods, in search of the Hanging Tree Cavern. I scouted ahead. For a while there were no animal tracks, which perturbed me, until I remembered this area was so dangerous, most animals avoid it. An hour into the forest, I found a large ancient tree with six or seven bodies hanging from it, swinging in the breeze. Judging by the state of the bodies, they were a warning that had been there for a long time. At the base of the tree, there were lilies that only grew in winter. It was summer. They were clearly created by magical means. While I was looking at the flowers, the others approached, and Mindartis noticed at the base of the tree, right next to where I stood, there was a massive hole, leading to what Mindartis said was where Ulric was being held hostage. We made our way into the hole, finding ourselves in a cave system. Inside was a twenty foot deep gorge with a bridge over it. We cautiously crossed over it, trying to remain as quiet as possible. I gave everyone a bit of help with remaining stealthy with one of my spells, which the heavily armoured being very thankful. We followed a series of tunnels with the occasional cave, a faint sound of water in certain spots of the tunnel... How odd it is to dream of you, even when I am awake... [Letter continues in session 110] Session 110: End Game 2: Into the Caverns of the Aboleth Played on the Eleventh of October in the year 2016 Present: Cain; Human Paladin, lvl 6 (Sloth) Mindartis; Sithi Warlock/Rogue/Fighter Thingy, lvl 6 (Josh S) Ffiona; Human Ranger, lvl 5 (Seraphina) Tarville; Human Cleric/Fighter, lvl 5 (NPC) Malagven; Dark Elf Warlock/Sorcerer, lvl 4 (Niko) Ezekiel Boone; Human Ranger, lvl 4 (Zilarrezko) The same letter continues... Tarville, taking advantage of his increased quietness, scouted up ahead with his light. Unfortunately, the light probably gave our position away to some creatures called Moridells guarding the area, that then attacked us. We moved up to take on them head on, it took a while to take them down, but took them down we did along with two Dire Wolves that Mindartis spawned to help him. They were proud and beautiful, but were fey, not beasts, so I couldn't talk to them. We moved on through a tunnel that seemed like it had been formed by erosion by water, into a cave with Stalagmites and Stalactites. Everyone had had bad experiences with creatures that look like stalagmites, and so we moved even more cautiously, Cain holding his shield above his head. Our worries were well-founded, as two of the stalagmites sprouted tentacles, two eyes and a ragged maw opening in the base. Just before they attacked, one of the creatures faces turned into Snowmantle's, saying "Hello, my dear, just a little gift. Have fun!" The tentacled creatures attacked us, its tentacles grabbing us all, but we were luckily able to escape its grasp before it ate us. We tried getting in attacks from a distance but weren't getting anywhere, barely getting in any attacks. We managed to get to the other side of the room safely and escape their reach.  For some reason they started on each other as we left the cavern. Mindartis muttered under his breath, "Such a threatening foe, Snowmantle. Rooted to the spot." To which Snowmantle appeared next to him, laughing, saying "they did exactly what they asked of you... Delay you." If this Cavern, or this war should take my life, if this body should never leave Maladon again; know that I'll still find you once again my Li'fa. Love, Ffiona xx
Session 112: Give Me A Reason, Any Reason! (face-to-face) [face-to-face sessions are not included in the tier assistant so as not to confuse players it doesn't apply to. The face-to-face sessions count as sessions attended for everyone attending them, but not as sessions missed for the people who did not attend.] Present: Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4, (Daniel) Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4 (Pippa) Boris; Half-Orc Barbarian/Monk, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Veranis; Human Wizard, lvl 3 (Chris G) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 2 (Miles) (Spoken (yelled) aloud as he cannot write) ...Well bugger me! That was typical! I was only trying to help some poor fucker with his ex-wife, and on the way I only wind up getting shipwrecked! Ugh. Ah well, fortunately I didn't lose any of my belongings, and I wound up being taken in by the pleasant folks at Seahold! They gave me food and a bed while I recuperated! Well, because they were so nice to me, I felt it'd be proper to aid them with whatever I could! Well, it didn't take them long to find something for me do to! Basically, they needed a big fuck to come help them scout some place to retreat to should the red emperor's army advance north! Ha! What a way to find out Maladon's at bloody war, eh?! Lucky for me, my family's on the farm, well away from Haven! I asked someone to check on them to make sure they were okay! They were! We moved over the nearby hills, searching every nook and cranny! After around seven hours of looking, we came a stronghold with a mercenary group inside, that we later discovered was called the Red Tree! We remained hidden, and scanned the stronghold! While looking, some pack men approached the mercenary's with food, in exchange for packages we couldn't see properly from a distance! At first, I was against attacking as I had no known quarrel with them, however the group told me of attacks happening in the area, and that these men were the main suspects! I was still unsure, but I figured my favour to them outweighed my doubt! Besides, they all looked like right cunts, so it was probably a good deed to take them down! We plotted our attack and advanced on the stronghold! Through some narrow squeaks, we took down all of them, except for two cowards who ran as far as their yellow little legs could carry them! Shame that they slew Veranis with a lucky hit; the cunts! We spoke to the pack men, who had hid in a stable! who turned out to be mere drovers from Haven, exchanging food for packages which turned out to contain something Archer called Blackroot! While I was talking to the drovers, the others investigated a tower, where they found a captive, whose name was Danieel! She was a member of the White Horses! We brought him back to Seahold, sending off word to the White Horses that he was safe! Archer then sent some men to go and secure the stronghold! I decided to stay in Seahold for a little while, y'know, try and get in with them! Hopefully set up a trade route so my farm won't go under during this bloody war! A fool's errand no doubt, but I ain't giving up on that bastard place! Put too much time and effort to let it go to shit! 600 GP, map of the area with 'places of interest' jewelry box containing signet rings of prominent families in Haven.

Session 134: Bears, why did it have to be bears? Present: Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4, (Pippa) Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4, (Daniel) Boris; Half-Orc Monk/Barbarian, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 4 (Miles) Randall; Deep Gnome Wizard, lvl 3 (Chris G) Kar; Dragonborn Paladin, lvl 5 (Thai) For the records of White Horse Tower. I successfully escaped the forces of the Red Emperor, making my way north to Seahold. There I met with Danieel who had recently been rescued from a bandit stronghold. I was invited to a meeting with the leaders of the settlement at which Danieel revealed a terrible threat to Seahold. An enormous herd of caribou had deviated from their usual migratory routes. By themselves these beasts would not have been an issue, but following behind them were packs of dogmen, known as "Gnar" in the Ashani tongue. If they drew near the settlements these Gnar would rampage across the land leaving only ashes in their wake. Danieel believed this deviation was unnatural and that Nogrod, a shaman of the Blackroot Ashani, was somehow responsible. With my knowledge of the arcane arts I knew that even drawing upon a source of divine power the shaman would not have the strength to affect the entire herd and Desna, wise in the ways of the local fauna and flora, advised us that while there would be many dominant males amongst the herd, the largest male would lead. I surmised that the shaman must be carrying out a ritual targeting the leader of the pack and that this ritual would be cast from a place of power. As the power on which the shaman relied needed to be sympathetic to his aims, a meeting was called with the Whitefeather Ashani to see if they knew where the shaman may be found. The Whitefeather chief directed us to the Roaring Falls, the resting place of one blessed by Niva, and provided us aid in the form of a guide, Tapaka, and a hunting party to distract those guarding the shaman. We were also provided with weapons retrieved from the Gnar to plant in hopes that the Blackroot would blame the Gnar and go to war with them. Of particular interest to the White Horse, the guide led us to a hill crowned by five trees. After passing in a circle around those trees he threw a stone into the center of the clearing and when he seemed expectant we followed suit. He led us through the trees and we found ourselves transported instantly deep into the Forest of Shadows to another similar gathering of five trees. Tapaka seemed pleased with himself, informing us that we had traveled the Ways and that those who knew the paths and the songs could travel the Ways all the way to the Fanes in the deep south. Unfortunately, nature is not my strong suit so I do not know the type of trees we passed though although am sure my companions would. Further study of these Ways would seem to be a priority given the potential tactical advantage they could provide against the forces of the Red Emperor. We passed through the forest, approaching the Roaring Falls where I found a great web of shifting wards. These wards appeared to be of far greater complexity than a single caster could create and to have been set out long ago. Tapaka began playing music which arrested the wards movement and allowed me to direct the party through the wards to the waterfall safely. Behind the falls we found a cave which led into a shrine to Ganesh. Making our way through we found two sleeping Cave Bears who were bound magically. Although we sought to pass by the bears they awoke and attacked us, and although we vanquished one, the other was empowered by the shaman and his followers via blood magic. While those skilled in the martial arts fought the bear, the rest of us engaged the casters successfully disrupting the ritual and forcing the shaman to flee while his four followers were slain. We spent a brief time searching the shrine, finding it to be the resting place of an avatar of Ganesh and retrieving some magical items from the fallen casters. We left evidence of the Gnar and left, apparently undetected, returning with Tapaka to Seahold where Danieel informed us we appeared to have been successful and the herd had moved away. We also heard reports that the Blackroot Ashani had retreated into the interior of Maladon and so appeared to be fighting something. Those magical items found were allocated to Seaholds armoury. I include a list of these below for completeness: Staff of Striking 4 Healing Potion Potion of Strength made from Blackroot 10 stone tablets of shielding on a necklace I would suggest the White Horse may wish to increase their presence in Seahold as there would appear to be valuable arcane knowledge to be found in the nearby lands. The face-to-face sessions count as sessions attended for everyone attending them, but not as sessions missed for the people who did not attend.] Played on the Eleventh of January in the year 2018 Present: Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4 (Daniel) Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4 (Pippa) Boris; Half-Orc Barbarian/Monk, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Trarbon; Dwarf Cleric, lvl 4 (Glen) (Spoken (yelled) aloud as he cannot write) ...Well, there was this one time where I was in Seahold - you heard o' Seahold, Yeah?! - Anyway, I was trying to get some kip in the guest area, when I was suddenly woken by a strange feeling I had on my chest! I look down, what do I see?! Not only a fucking glowing mark thingy! I was right fucked off I can tell you! Not only because of this glowing mark thingy, but I get real grouchy when woken before I've had my sleep! Whoever did this was in for a right bollocking! In my anger though, I fell down the stairs! Hahahaha! Right tit! Ah well, I never cared for impressin'! I smacked into the door, making my entrance! I demanded to know what had happened to me! They said something about how this group of Sithi had marked us, because a gate of some kind had been opened in Haven. Not fully understanding the situation, and still being very, VERY angry, as soon as they told me the direction these Sithi went, I immediately marched in their direction towards a glowing wisp of light moving south of Seahold! They yelled to stop me, telling me to at least put some clothes on! I didn't stop, nor care! I marched toward the light, with the others tailing behind me! Once arriving at the light, and found it standing among five pillars of stone, one in the center of four others! They each some kind of old language written on 'em! I can't read anyway! But I can tell the difference between old squiggles, and new squiggles! I had never noticed these pillars in this glade before, and I'd definitely been here before! This cloaked fucker was standing next to the light! I approached him! He turned towards me, his eyes disturbing me, the white of his eyes appearing to be storms! I yelled, "Are you the one who did this?!" Pointing to the mark on my chest. He said that the one who done this had been long dead for thousands of years! I didn't buy it at first, my anger getting the best of me! He then talked of us 'being chosen, him also!' He then revealed the same mark on his chest! He spoke of not wanting to undertake this mission, but that he had no choice! He asked me what I was, noting my kind did not come here 'last time'! I asked him how to remove the mark on my chest! He said I had to complete a task not yet known to him, though he reckoned it had something to do with a doorway that had been opened underneath the castle in Haven! He asked where my companions where, prompting them to walk in! Archer, Desna and Trarbon had kindly brought my gear for me! I - for the sake of my companions eyes - put my clothes on! With Archer, Desna and Trarbon with us, we moved onward while the Sithi spoke of how our histories were a lie! That the Sithi were not the ones who struck the first blow in the war! He spoke of a wizard that sought a power the Sithi kept safe! He didn't speak of what this power specifically was, but he said this portal leading to this power must be closed! He told us we must move swiftly as the city of Haven was burning! Which took us all aback! He also mentioned his scouts had seen a fleet with red banners and red sails! He was talking of the Red Emperor! Those bastards had invaded! The Sithi led us onward toward the sea! As we got closer to the coast, we could see Haven burning in the distance! As my companions and I looked at the harrowing scene, the Sithi took out a curved dagger, made out of some kind of resin, cut his palm, and let his blood flow into the soil! A pillar of dark material rose up out of the blood marked ground! Ancient magic! It looked like it was made of solid shadow! He asked us all to grab hold of his cloak! We did! He then mumbled some words, and we suddenly found ourselves in a small cave right by the sea! We later determined we were underneath Haven! The Sithi looked drained, falling to his knees! I tried helping him up, but he wouldn't have it! He yelled out to Isildra that the compact was done, that he must seal the gate, and that we were to go forth! Then before we could stop him, he slit his own throat, and dropped dead! As we looked around trying to figure out where we were, the Sithi's blood began to spread towards one of the cave walls! As it did, a small gap of light began to come through the wall! The gap in the wall continued to widen as the blood spread! Once the gap was wide enough, we looked through, seeing a narrow corridor lit by torches! Archer looked over the dead Sithi's body! Finding an invisible necklace and key attached to it! Some of the Sithi's blood had revealed it, and Archer took the necklace off and pocketed it! In the corridor, we heard two men talking! One of them clearly a hostage! The other wanted to know the location of something, but we couldn't figure out what! We then heard two imperial guards pushing what the party noted was a man named Colodus! The guards mentioned something about a torture room! They led Colodus off to a room to our right! Two other guards then came barging down the stairs, carrying two backpacks full of loot! They then went off into a room towards our left! None of the guards appeared to notice any gap in the room! We decided to get moving, and not leave Colodus to his torture any longer than needed! We moved forward into the corridor, we looked to our left to make sure nothing would come up from behind! We heard the two looting guards fighting over their stuff, before seeing one of them with a dagger in his chest fall out of the room they were in! "I'm sorry Bert, but you have lovely boots!" said the killer guard! Looking to our right we could see an armoured door! We quietly approached the door! Right as I got to the armoured door, a guard I had not seen, sat in an outcove right outside the armoured door, came into view! Just before he looked up to see me, I smashed him in the face, knocking him out! Archer said he heard a chink noise, and that it may be a key! I found a bunch of keys on the knocked-out guard! I found the key for the armoured door and opened it! Inside the room, which was clearly a torture room; Colodus had been chained to a wall. Two imperial soldiers were interrogating him! One wearing this purple cloak, meaning he was a praetorian guard! Making it a treasonous act to attack them! At this point, we didn't care, and ran in and attacked! Behind us, the killer guard popped his head out! He saw we were attacking the praetorian guard! He yelled out how Seth was coming to the rescue, and that we'd killed his friend Bert! Oh, and yes, he was wearing Bert's boots! The two guards in the torture room were tough, but we managed to cut, fire and cast our way through 'em! I believe Seth's last words were "Bury me in these boots!" We aided Colodus, removing his chains and shut the door behind us! Archer discovered the Sithi's necklace key could lock the door permanently, which was nice! Colodus noted the key, saying we could 'follow him,' before passing out! Not long after we locked the door, Desna heard a commotion outside! More imperial guards had arrived looking over the scene! They blamed looters! They noted Bert's boots had been stolen! Soon finding Seth's body with Bert's boots! The guards started fighting over all the loot, including, of course, Bert's boots! In the torture room, was a spiral staircase, with a weird, old archway surrounded by runes! As the others were looking over the door, I began to meditate to try and regain some of my spent energy, as I wouldn't be much use if I hadn't! As Archer approached the archway, the runes on it appeared to turn into animals, and released smoke into the room, causing me to cough! Hoping the guards hadn't heard, Archer looked over the stairs and archway, checking for traps, finding none! The archway however, had opened! Suddenly, we heard a thumping sound! Something heavy had just hit the door! The guards were trying to ram the door down! They must have heard me cough! Desna overheard the guards saying how there might be loot in the room! I grabbed Colodus and we all ran down the stairs through the archway! Archer sealing it behind us! Just as he sealed it, the imperial guards smashed into the room! We found ourselves in a dark corridor approaching a big chamber! In the center of the chamber was a kind of thin force field barrier! Hanging in the center, a man, slightly lighting the chamber! Before we moved forward, Colodus awoke, and warned us of what was beyond the barrier! A being - cursed by Skarn - was sealed within the chamber! The Sithi were to keep this being - as well as many other beings in Maladon - in its tomb! Colodus revealed the only way to defeat the creature! One of the sword of the avowed; Jaderel: the Spellbreaker! This sword lied behind the barrier! He also warned that if we should suffer a wound from this creature, we would not be able to pass the barrier! We would be tainted by dark fire, and would turn into one of the creatures, and be trapped forever! He also insisted that the sword, should it slay the creature, must not return past the barrier either! Colodus spoke of some 'Fane of Arsha,' and that his goal there was to find this place, so he may guard it! Colodus said that only a single strike from Jaderel would be needed to quell the creature! Given that, I decided only one of us had to go beyond the barrier and risked being tainted by Dark fire! Being stubborn and all that, I decided that was going to be me! The plan was for me to open the barrier with the necklace key, and throw it back so the creature couldn't nab it! I'd then find the sword, and strike the creature! Colodus mentioned the others could still attack from the other side of the barrier, so they all got into position! Colodus also said he'd try and heal any attack made on me! If healed quickly enough, it may prevent the dark fire from taking root! I asked the party, if I should fall, to tell my husband and daughter at Ashvale Farm that I had died, but not tell them what I'd become! Make up a far grander story for them to remember me by! I opened the barrier, and walked through! I threw the key back! I moved toward the end of the chamber to find a sarcophagus made of stone with an image of a warrior on it, with a sword and shield on it! The sword looked far more real than the rest of the warrior! It was then I noticed inside the casket, there seemed to be a flame! As soon as I saw it, it began to flow out of the casket! I immediately ran to the sword, and prized it out of the stone warrior! Colodus shouted out "You must strike at its heart!" A shadowy man-like creature of great might came out! The creature tried to will my newly acquired sword out of my hands! I was able to resist, and noticed that while holding Jaderel, I could now see the creature's heart! I struck at it, but the creature was well good at avoiding my weapon! The creature struck me! I looked at the wound, thinking that was it! That the taint'd take me! Then Colodus managed to heal me before the taint spread! It'd been nice to know he could do that beforehand! Still, thank you Colodus! The creature shot fire at the barrier towards my allies! Luckily the barrier stopped the curse, turning its attack into a mere firebolt. Still painful, but not quite as deadly! Finally, I was able to strike true at the monsters heart! The sword flung out of my hand, swirling around the room still lodged in the creature, until finally falling to the ground, stabbing the stone floor! The creature had been slain! After getting my breath back, I tried to move the sword back to the sarcophagus out of respect! However the sword wouldn't move! It had found its new resting place! My allies used the key to let me back through! Just as we were about to leave, I turned back to salute the sword for a job well done! At that moment, I heard a voice say, "You will always be a part of me!" I don't know if it was the sword, or something else! Just before we all turned to leave, the four pillars in the room revealed glowing writing! This writing looked exactly like the old squiggles from the forest when I first met the Sithi! Archer reckoned these might be a gateway back there, and used the key to go through it, then the bugger disappeared along with the writing on the pillar, leaving the key behind! There being five of us including Colodus and only four pillars; Colodus proclaimed he'd have to find his own way back! Trarbon, Disna and I used the key on a pillar each! We found ourselves back in the forest! Finding a Sithi lord waiting for us! He said his nephew had played his part and asked for his dagger, which Archer gave to him! The Sithi then fired an arrow, seemingly at Archer, but instead, hit a tree behind him! If this was anything like the Ashanni, this meant we'd just gained favour with these guys! "The debt is paid!" He bowed, and silently left, disapearing into the forest! Well... job's still a goodun!

Session 135: Worm Riding Present: Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4, (Pippa) Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4, (Daniel) Boris; Half-Orc Monk/Barbarian, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 4 (Miles) Randall; Deep Gnome Wizard, lvl 4 (Chris G) Kar; Dragonborn Paladin, lvl 5 (Thai) Trarbon; Dwarf Cleric, lvl 4 (Glen) For the records of the White Horse Tower. A great blizzard struck the coast near Sea Hold, freezing the sea solid. Through the driving snow, bouts of dragon fire were spotted towards White Horse Isle and it appeared that the Tower may have been under attack. My companions and I spoke with Danieel to see if she had any way of contacting the Tower to find out if they needed aid. Danieel told us that she didn’t have the magic necessary, but advised us that the White Horse recall sigil had been triggered, something which has only happened in legend! Danieel was extremely concerned, as the Tower should have had sufficient protection in place to easily deal with a dragon attack, but the recall suggested something had gone wrong. We set out with a sled over the frozen seas towards White Horse Tower. On our way we encountered a robed old man who collapsed. When he had recovered sufficiently, he introduced himself as Master Filus, a member of the White Horse Council. He told us that he was pursuing a traitor, Zaf, who had stolen from the trove safeguarded in White Horse Tower as the rest of the Council were pursuing another for Lord Ulric, Lord Snowmantle. He believed Zaf was a Black Root Ashani who had managed to infiltrate the order. While the Council were absent, Zaf had disabled the Tower defences drawing the dragon to attack as a distraction so that he could escape with what he had stolen. Master Filus confided that it was a coin from the Hoard of Skarn and that it was this which has drawn the dragon when the wards around the Tower which cloaked its presence were disabled. Hunter tracked Zaf back to the coast, finding the trail led to a tree with a hold hidden in the side. There were tracks around this which appeared to be Black Root Ashani. My companions and I went down through the tree while Master Filus remained behind to guard the entrance. A crude tunnel led down into ancient Baelish ruins which it appeared had been built with magic between 4,000-5,000 years ago. Following the tunnels we came to a chasm across which a number of bridges had been built. We saw Zaf try to make his way across the closest as we came out onto a ledge along the side of the chasm, but an Ice worm appeared from far below striking at Zaf and swallowing him whole. The ice worm then turned on us, with Kar and Boris both embarking on the beast to attack its head, Kar by magic and Boris by brute force. Kar almost fell having mistimed his jump, but managed to grab on to the worm’s head before plummeting downwards. Through a series of punishing attacks the worm was slain, falling to the base of the chasm below us with Boris jumping off the beast while I cast feather fall to allow Kar to float down to the ground. Kar dug into the creature, both eating and searching the body, eventually finding the remains of Zaf and recovering the coin which was fixed in an arcane gauntlet of some kind. He also found a gourd containing black liquid which was identified as Black Root poison and a half eaten spell book containing non-detection, sleet storm, water breathing and control water. We made our way back out of the Baelish ruins finding Master Filus surrounded by the corpses of several dead Black Root Ashani. We gave him the gauntlet with the coin and it return he gave us each 250 gold. Most of us agreed to allocate part of this for renovating Fort Veranis.
Session 136: Let sleeping God’s lie Present: Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4, (Pippa) Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4, (Daniel) Boris; Half-Orc Monk/Barbarian, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 4 (Miles) Randall; Deep Gnome Wizard, lvl 4 (Chris G) Seeker; Human Rogue, lvl ? (Jon R) Trarbon; Dwarf Cleric, lvl 4 (Glen) For the records of the White Horse Tower. Some weeks after the events detailed in my last report, we decided to return to the Baelish ruins we had previously found to identify and eliminate any threats as Trarbon had sensed undead down there, and it seemed the ruins could run underneath where it was intended to construct a road between Seahold and Fort Veranis. Returning to the tree we had previously found, we entered into the ruins, seeing the decaying remains of the worm we had previously killed far below with large maggots crawling around it. When the worm died, it collapsed shattering the bridge across the chasm so we constructed a rope bridge across. Across the bridge we found a hidden room behind a mirror with a tuning fork made out of a strange metal which I took. Moving further forwards, we found a room with statues, one in the centre of the room and others along the side. Archer identified that there only appeared to be tracks along the left side of the room; it appeared no one walked along the right. Boris used a ten foot pole to try and find any traps, identifying and triggering one which caused four of the statues mouths to open and four swarms of obsidian metal beetles came out. I struck tuning fork I had found which caused the beetles to withdraw. Looking at the central statue, Boris was overcome with a vision, telling us he had seen the statue seemingly come to life, stare him in the ends and yell “free me.” It appeared that ringing the tuning fork did more than simply disarm beetles, as those near the bridge saw that the walls of the chasm were now glowing and covered in friezes. I went back into the chasm to try and decipher the knowledge now on display. The friezes appeared to show the Bael’s originally being the gets of the Masters held in the City of Skulls. They depicted an ancient conflict where humans overthrew their elvish masters aided by a large being with the head of a jackal/dog. This event appears to have been known as the “throwing off of the shackles”. I deciphered a section of the friezes by magical means which appeared to translate as: In the time of King Kolokos they took advantage of, In the days when the stones walked, we took off our shackles and threw down our masters, In tribute we took one of those who dwell in the Fane of Arsha and brought him here, With the might of this being we threw down the Deep Ones and stole their magic. It appeared that the beetles which has appeared were similar to magic used by the Sithi or the Duergar and this could explain why the Duergar cities which had once existed emptied in a very short space of time. Three figures appeared prominent in the friezes, Kolokos, the Chosen of the Kornlord and Gueran. The symbols seemed to suggest connotations of royalty linked to Gueran, although not King, but rather Arl. After the “throwing off of the shackles”, the Ashani are shown as a subjugated race, the subject of mass sacrifice. The friezes depicted a double door smashed open, followed by symbols which translated as: We made ourselves as gods. Here we become the 7 Lords of the Korn. The Tree of Mohol from Morrindeep was also depicted. The friezes concluded: Here lies Gueran I of the Khornlords, he tried to eat a God and was consumed by it. Heading back through the room with statues, we moved along the left hand side into a corridor with another mirror at the end, which again appeared to be a hidden door. We found a room on the right of the corridor with a crystal tree beneath a crystal dome with light shining down onto the tree. The tree seemed to be channelling energy downwards. We tried a number of experiments with the tree to see if we could get the door at the end of the corridor to open, eventually putting a piece of crystal we found in the tree in the central statues mouth, which caused the statue to rotate and lift, revealing an opening below, with stairs heading down. The mirror at the end of the corridor also opened, revealing another crystal from which a beam of energy shot out hitting the crystal in the statues mouth. Looking at the opening, there appeared to be an unnatural darkness. Boris volunteered to go down, but given the vision he had experienced, we tied a rope around his waist in case something tried to affect his mind again. As soon as Boris stepped down into the darkness, he went mad seeming to lose all control of himself. We used the rope to pull him back out of the darkness and he came back to himself. Boris couldn’t really remember what happened, only that the voice he had heard previously was back and far stronger so that he had to do what it wanted. On further consideration of the crystals, it appeared some sort of containment system. Given what was on the friezes, it seems likely some sort of being, the results of Gueran seeking to claim the power of a god, had been bound here and the crystal tree was containing its influence. We decided to leave and in hopes that it would return the statue to its original position I again struck the tuning fork on a metal railing. The mirror and statue returned to their original position. On our way out I returned the tuning fork to the place I had originally found it and as we left found that the sides of the chasm were swarming with the large maggots, having nearly reached the top. We narrowly got out before they could swarm us.
Session 137: Vampire?!... Maybe?! Played on the First of March in the year 2018! Present: Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4 (Daniel) Boris; Half-Orc Barbarian/Monk, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4 (Pippa) Kaar; Dragonborn Paladin, lvl 5 (Thai) Randall; Deep Gnome Wizard, lvl 4 (Chris G) Rodrey McRodrey; Dwarf Rogue, lvl 3 (Zilarrezko) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 4 (Miles) (Spoken (yelled) aloud as he cannot write) A month had passed since the seastorm had begun! A month since the sea was too ferocious to cross! Since trade had all but stopped, bar the local farms! A group of poor-folk, refugee's from down south, arrived at Seahold! Despite the guard's suspicions, Archer decided to let them in from the damp miserable weather, though not before some frisking from the guards! After much investigating of hand-carts and people, our new guests were let in out the cold! Asked them what happened to force them up here! According to a man named Ellis; at first, it was merely something biting their cattle! But over time, people started disappearing! Cottages started going empty! Buildings were burned down, including the mill! With no way to grow grain, they had to leave! No one resides there now, their village abandoned! They had gone to the tower for help, but the mages had gone off somewhere! Their village was not the only one to have attacked by this! Some others from the village had fled south! No idea what this creature or person is! Not one of them said to have seen it! Whatever's done this stalks the night - as they'd heard things during the night! We asked where the village was! 10-15 miles away depending on the route! The party decided to correct this if we were able! Some of us out of the goodness of our hearts, Some of us cause they reckoned it was too close to us to leave be as it may impact us in the future! Whatever the reason, we decided to visit these peoples village! We sent for the White Feather Ashanni for info on whatever this was! Ellis explained to the leader what had happened! Upon hearing this, their leader spoke of how another tribe - the cold Sept - had spoken of this! A spirit had entered the forest of shadows from the south! It drinks blood! Some of the Ashanni had been slain as well! It's home is the forest! Its tracks disappear, as if this creature could vanish! The Ashanni had been unable to find its lair! This was something new to them, they said it must have come with the humans! Randall remembered that those who wish to avoid divination, sometimes destroy the places of their crimes and desecration's! There are signs some of the Ashanni went with this creature willingly! No doubt charmed by magic, but the Ashanni consider this a great shame! The White Feather tribe left a parting gift for Desna; a quiver of Ashanni arrows! They left, and almost immediately, the rain began again! Almost as if they knew it was coming! Randall figured this may be Vampires! A while ago, Gatesgarth was attacked by a large group of vampires! In fact, an ally of Archer and Desna was killed by them! They were eventually dealt with, many months later! But, as vampire hunters were later able to deduce, only thralls had been killed so far! The vampire boss as it were, hadn't been dealt with! Kaar could sense undead, which was pretty useful! We set off the following day for the village to investigate! The rain continued to fall hard, mud covering our steeds and armour! While we stopped to eat lunch, Zahnder found something on the ground! What he described as a large, pink, fleshy flower! Kaar poked it with his quarterstaff, which caused the flower to slowly recede into the ground! Randall and Desna deduced what it was; A blood flower! Said to bloom in times of battle during the great war when the empire fought the Sithi! One has not been seen since that time! Their pollen can put humanoids to sleep! Randall - covering his mouth - cut the stem! Randall and Desna attached it to one of our spare horses! We finished lunch! Kaar, using his sense, felt that every tree surrounding this flower appeared to contain a dark spirit! Not particularly powerful, but as the sun waned, their power grew! He channeled some form of healing magic into one of the trees! There was immediately a piercing scream, followed by what looked like a shadow of an Ashanni falling out of the tree and laying on the ground, before becoming an oily patch on the grass! Kaar then proceeded to do the same with the other trees, until the spirits had gone! A wet fog filled the air! Seven miles left of our journey, we moved onward again! With one hour left till nightfall, we reached the edge of a village! Not necessarily the village we were described, but certainly one that had been similarly evacuated! We searched the village, looking inside the abandoned cottages and cabins! Rodrey came across a book in one of the houses, written by a farmwoman who after meeting someone in the forest, went from knowing nothing about magic, to seemingly overnight becoming a master, working out elements of magical theory! At least that's what the wizard said, I couldn't figure out what they were talking about if I'm honest! With mere minutes till nightfall, we decided to fortify ourselves in a cabin...! Continued in Session 138: Yep! Vampire!
Session 138: Yep! Vampire! Played on the Second of March in the year 2018! Present: Archer; Half-Elf Ranger/Rogue, lvl 4 (Daniel) Boris; Half-Orc Barbarian/Monk, lvl 4 (Seraphina) Desna; Elf Druid, lvl 4 (Pippa) Kaar; Dragonborn Paladin, lvl 5 (Thai) Randall; Deep Gnome Wizard, lvl 4 (Chris G) Rodrey McRodrey; Dwarf Rogue, lvl 3 (Zilarrezko) Zahnder; Half-Elf Warlock, lvl 4 (Miles) (Spoken (yelled) aloud as he cannot write) Kaar, having had a light cast upon him, lit up the party as we settled in the cabin! We set up watch order! During first watch; Archer, woke us up, as the sound of crickets had stopped! Kaar used his magic to detect three undead beings outside! We prepped ourselves, and awaited battle! (Boris then enthusiastically describes the battle) Crashing through the roof, a feral looking woman whose eyes were completely bloodshot, fangs in her mouth, claws on her hands! Swiped at Archer! Archer fired an arrow back! At that point a fire broke out in the cabin! Not sure how! Slipping up through a crack in the floor, came a oily tendril of darkness; a Shadow! It attempted to attack Zahnder, however his magical shield stopped it in its tracks! A second shadow appeared, attempted to strike Archer, though he was able to dodge its blow! Kaar, still radiating light, struck this shadow with his battleaxe, ectoplasmic material spilling from the shadow! Kaar struck again, and the shadow collapsed in on itself! The Vampire, hissed at Kaar, screamed "you're next!" To which Kaar the Dragonborn exclaimed, "bring it, you cunt!" Eloquent as any, dear Kaar! Another Shadow came up from up the floor, hitting Kaar! Archer moved away from the woman to get a better position to fire his bow! I then ran at a Shadow and smacked it using my Staff of Striking I'd recently acquired, then smacked it twice in the face for good measure! Though my punches were less effective than usual, I could tell after my first one! Fortunately I'm bloody fast with my fists! Zahnder had a go at the vampire with one of his hexes, following that with a slice at a Shadow with his Pact Blade! Rodrey went outside, and a crossbow bolt flew over my head! The smoke from the fire continued to spread through the room! All of us fought through it, but Zahnder unfortunately began to cough and couldn't do much for a while! Desna then twatted a Shadow with her quarterstaff! I then dodged an attack by the Vampire, now hanging on the roof to avoid the bulk of the smoke! It then tried to grapple me, but I easily thrust it out the way! At that moment, Kaar's mount; Falcor, came barging in through the wall and began to chow down on a Shadow! Randall cast a Firebolt at the vampire, before moving away from her! Wise for he is such a little guy with no armour! A Shadow then struck Desna, black pulsed her veins in her neck! The light in her eyes dimmed, but just at the last moment, she shrugged it off, and righted herself before falling! The Shadow then tried to flee through the floor, giving us all an opportunity to attack! But before we could, Falcor lunged at it, and swallowed the fucker!  Kaar looked at the Vampire, said "hello, I'm Kaar! Then missed twice! Poor sod! Archer fired at the Vampire! She caught the arrow, and snapped it! Impressive! I tried to hit her with my staff! I missed! Tried to punch her! MISSED!!! As she laughing at our ineptitude! I smacked one of her teeth out! Zahnder finally stopped coughing his guts up and tried attacking the vampire! Missed! At this point even Falcor was laughing at us! Rodrey fired another crossbow bolt! Missed! The smoke continued to spread! Archer making up for Zahnder, began to cough his guts up! Desna twatted the Vampire with her quarterstaff! Missed! The Vampire responded by missing Desna! But followed that with a successful claw strike! Desna only just managing to avoid experiencing a vampire bite! Randall missed! At that point we noticed her fucking wounds were healing! Frustrated at everyone, including himself, fucking up so much, Kaar, smited the bitch! Fucking her up good! Real good! Then smited her again! Even better this time! Real better! Thank fuck! Kaar said "hello, I'm Kaar!" once again! This time with more oomph and impact! She died! Job's a fucking goodun'! Note to self: always bring a Paladin! Silence hit us! The battle had ended! Before Kaar and Falcor could devour the Vampire, Randall searched her and found a blood-stained letter! A letter from someone named Malbordas! Our wizard cast a spell to translate it, and read it aloud! The letter read: "To my servants, know this! I, Malbordas, delivered you from the leaden monotony of human existence to this 'higher state'. I shall not tarry here, for the meddling Witch-hunters from Haven are on my trail, so that by the time you read this, I will long gone! But wait; how can you read this ancient tongue you are asking yourself? Could you even read before your transformation? "There is no mystery my servants; I carry within my a fragment of the soul of a foul water dwelling creature that bound me to its service during a War with the Sithi; some fifty years ago. I was a scholar then and held in thrall; until my 'Master' had me steal a Janus thorn from the Sithi city of Jorun'gorar. Little did that jumped up little squid realise that he had given me my salvation; for anyone pricked by the thorn passed into the realm of the undead; and so I was freed. But the power! Suddenly I knew all that my Master knew; with his many many thralls and a life that has spanned eons. So much knowledge, so much power! "A measure of that power, and a portion of my old Master's soul do I bequeath to all the beings upon whom I bestow my 'kiss'. This, then, is how you can read this script; which is ten thousand years old and was known only to a long vanished race of fish-folk who have been dead for eight millenia. Keep our secrets safe my brethren! "You must obey me; for I sustain you! Unless I feed the bud on the thorn each day that first grows when I place a drop of your blood upon it, you will crumble to dust. You can feel the truth of it; I know! You can feel it in your blood. We are Nosferatu!  "So hear me now! The meddlers in the Tower of the White Horse are now the only ones who can stop us! Destroy their food supplies and draw the upstarts out of the safety of their tower. Kill all their chattel; each death will swell the ranks of the dead that you can call upon for you will find commanding the dead is within your compass. Seek out graves and tombs; any killed by the Sithi will lie unquietlym and can be called out of the darkness. As can those upon whom you slake your thirst. "Some of you will also find that the more you kill, the more magic comes to you. Choose a leader and do my bidding. I will send for you when I hear that the White Tower lies in ruins. Do not fail me!! "Also, one of your kind needs to retrieve my books from my house in Haven; you will know its location when you fully awaken. Bring them north to Blakes Landing when you have them and leave them in the temple." The letter seemed to have been copied many times!  It was clear that there are more Vampires in the area! We decided to stay the night, and then return to Seahold to figure out what we'd do next! Whatever it was, it would most likely require reinforcements! Randall sent his owl; Bubo with a letter to Randall's people! We holed up in a cottage for the night, rather than the smoldering cabin we previously attempted to rest in! The following morning, we were woken by Bubo knocking its beak against a window! It brought another letter from Randall's people! The letter was from Melias; one of the more senior apprentices! The letter spoke of how they'd encountered a creature like this, that it had stowed on a cargo boat just before the storm began! It had wreaked havoc, and most of the apprentices now lie dead! But that they had killed the creature! Along with the note, was a scroll with an excerpt from a rare book:  'The Secret History Of The Great War', where Malbordas' name was mentioned in a sectioned titled 'The Long Winter': "That winter will live long in my memory, for t’was a fell time. There was little to eat for we had lost half the fleet to the Sithi and with it most of our supplies. Rations were low but somehow we survived the first months. To add to my own personal woes, my personal friend and associate Malbordas of Greenwald vanished in the midst of winter; after complaining for several nights of strange singing in his sleep. Master Thanatos suspected more Sithi magic, but no more vanished after that, and in truth, so many had died by then that I had almost lost count. "Then things took as turn for the better as our scouts found another, larger isle close by to Haven where we might grow food, but the isle was inhabited by savage human tribesmen who spoke a strange tongue that had no roots in any known language. We called them the Bael people for they gave sacrifice to evil Blood Gods and so did Lord Galvinus lead his men into battle against them. All that winter he fought them; throwing down their fell hillforts and putting them to the sword. Men, women and children fought our men without any fear and with a terrible bloodlust and so all were slain. Galvinus proclaimed a great victory in the spring but all could see his shame at the blood on his hands." Looking through the scroll detailing the history of the great war, the group noticed that the four imperial insignia's were the insignia's of four of the companies of Haven, including the Blue Sashes! The current head of the Blue Sashes is a man named Darvin! One of the four war hosts was named Darvin! What could this mean...! I cooked breakfast! We decided it was best to offer a place at Seahold to the villagers while the Vampires are still out there! After eating we discovered some Vampire tracks, coming from the way we came; the north-east! We reckoned they might be following us! We decided to follow these tracks...
