Using Projector or TV with Roll20

I have been considering building a table either with a TV or a projector to use for the maps and stuff. I am new to roll20 as I have been using Fantasy Grounds for years but I like the dynamic lighting feature. anyway, so one of my concerns is if a map is too large to fit into the window and you have to scroll to show more of the map, doesn't that throw off the position of all the minis and stuff? Would the players have to move them every time I pan the map over? That is if they are using minis on top of the map, and not virtual minis. I am just curious how others handle having to pan all the time. thanks!

Using white circles for the tokens that you plan to use minis for gives a good marker for where to put the minis. You’ll need a token for the dynamic lighting anyway. As a bonus, if you’re using an overhead projector, it acts like a little spotlight. :) Here’s a wiki page about using Roll20 in person: https://wiki.roll20.net/Using_Roll20_while_Playing_In-Person
