Stuck in Loading screen China

Hey Guys, I want to ask if this is as intended. I am in China and the roll20 worked well couple months ago even without VPN. Now I get stuck in the loading screen and never get into the game itself. For all games, even new game I tried to create today. Can you please help. MH

I suspect it's because roll20 uses Firebase, which is owned by Google. At least, that's what I discovered when I tried to game with a friend who had the same problem. He's in China and not able to to VPN, so he can't join roll20 games. They stall at a couple different points in the loading screen. I even tried disabling audio/video chat and having him try again, and it wouldn't work.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the site. Likely it relates to the issue mentioned by Joel but to triage: Could you please carefully work through the first three steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues ? Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions and anti-virus programs. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Thank you!
@Joel,  Then yes, its probably the issue with Firebase. I dont know what it is, however, if I am on VPN I can access the games without a problem. When you guys started to use Firebase? I believe it was working fine just a year ago.
Hi Martin, Sorry for the delayed response on this issue! Unfortunately, this seems like it is an issue directly with your ISP and changes they may have made and is something outside of our power to fully resolve. The only solution we can suggest at the moment is to continue using a VPN in order to use Roll20.
