Dynamic Lighting, Line of Sight & Blocking Movement.

Anyone have any clever suggestions when trying to have things like railings and forcefields? I need something that blocks movement, without blocking line of sight. I can not seem to find any feature for such though. It it doesn't exist, then that would be a great feature.

I've found that most players have enough respect for the narrative to simply not walk through areas that are off limits. There are suggestions out there for 1-way DL and the like (which would be AWESOME) but until then I'd treat this as a social issue. Railings can be done by having small squares of DL at regular intervals which would give the sight blocking benefits but players could still move through them as a gap as small as a pixel is all they need... to solve that you use DM narrative... "You see a low archway to the west, rusted but solid looking railings cover the entrance, the gaps between the bars too small for even a greased up halfling to fit through..." with that players worth having wouldn't even try to go through... anyone who does is returned to the field of play and warned, continued 4th wall breaking results in <insert penalty of your choice here> (I've used sin bin pages to dump them on, xp penalties and even expulsion on occasion). For forcefields I tend to put a shimmering wall like token in the place when the field is visible and used narrative as before to suggest that it is impassible, when they aren't supposed to see the blocking effect I leave it open and use narrative (and a d4 of bludgeoning damage) for when the first person tries to go that way. They may see more than you want on the initial walk through but you can get round that by keeping things on the GM layer or, if you are lucky, your players won't meta-game!
What I do for invisible walls, cages, jail cells and terrain, that I want the players to see but not move through, is add an invisible token that is controlled by all players, has sight, and emits light inside the enclosed area. Put dynamic lighting lines around the object, enclosing it completely, and put that invisible token inside it. Then the PC's can move their regular tokens up to the line but not through it and still see everything on the inside. The token needs to be on the object layer for this to work, otherwise it will not be visible to the players.
Both great suggestions and feedback, thank you both! That definitly gives me enough tools to handle all currently thought of situations.
