TLDR: Upset that the campaigns I'm keep falling apart before the backstories of my characters are resolved. Want to see what Pro is fully capable of before I learn how to DM. List of very picky demands/high standards at the end of the post. So... I've been in three D&D groups so far. All three fizzled out due to IRL work commitments of the DMs, and none of which had the characters reach level 5. In two of those games, I created characters that had very detailed backstories, complete with several story hooks for the DM to use at their discretion. However, those plot threads remain hanging, and it wouldn't be right to just reset the characters and put them into another campaign. Because of this, I've decided to try a different approach to my "tabletop" game hobby. Instead of creating characters with intricate backstories and plot threads that are never resolved, maybe I should use my overactive imagination to create worlds to run for other players. I'm the kind of person who has the mindset of "If you're going to do something you love, put everything into it". While looking through the Roll20 site, I have discovered everything a GM/DM can do to make their games come to life (custom sheets, dynamic lighting/line of sight, the F/X tool, custom scripts, etc.). As a result of that, I'm considering getting a pro subscription so I can fully use the potential of Roll20. This is where y'all reading this posting come in. Before I use my limited funds to buy a Pro subscription, I want to know what it can do when everything runs together (and I mean everything). I'm looking for a D&D 5e group (because that's the system I'm most familiar with) run by someone who is utilizing all the benefits of Roll20 so I can see and experience first hand what a Pro subscription can do. If I happen to join a group that lasts more than 5 games and form a comradery with them as well, then all the better. Below is my relevant info for those GM/DMs who wish to accept my challenge. Timezone: EST Game: D&D 5E or ODAM/Laruna Mature content and topics: Bring it on. Homebrew or published adventures: Preferably homebrew, but not a deal breaker if it's not. Sandbox or Railroad: Railroad if necessary, but still enough wiggle room to explore and do things not on the map. Prefered genre: No real preference, but I've always wanted to try out a Magitech esc world. Welcome to new players?: Yes, as I'm still learning the ropes and none of my characters have even hit level 5. Pay to Play/Tip to Play: If the DM/GM is experienced and the game is worthwhile, I'm willing to give to the Digital Snack Jar/Give them subscription money. Meetup frequency/time: Ideally once a week, but when the entire group is available is also good. I prefer noon/afternoon games. I look forward to possibly playing with y'all.
