Token Option

My last thread on this topic got hi-jacked by folks wanting a whole bunch of new advanced options, what I am proposing here seems like a very simple concept. Simply a Token Option where one simple click of the token brings up either a straight up text block or an image. I know that this can be done now by clicking the object (token) and then clicking again and adjusting the scroll bars to reach the text but this makes it much more efficient. Suppose you have a few objects in a cave room, on each object you've set the token to just a text box. One single click and the actual description of the object pops up, and option for the player to see it could be set or the GM would simply read it to the players, no trying to find the description in a text file or pdf, boom it's right there. Same would go for say a number token with the entire room description. Yes I know you can attach journal files but that seems like a lots of entries for something as simple as, "The crude table is made from old wood scraps, a skull with a candle stub remains unlit next to a small leather bound book.......", having several of these just for one room you can see how the journal is going to fill up.
I seem to recall a while back someone requesting the ability to add "pins" with pop-up descriptive text. If you could tag anything as a pin (instead of a token or image), it would fit your description. I do think that pop-up text of some sort would be helpful, but meanwhile you can use text on the GM layer as a workaround. Though if you're like me, you could fill a whole map with notes.

I am very much for this. I would like to be able to just type in some information about a token and have it show up when selected or something akin to that.

Love the idea of a pin. And just mouse over and a popup happens with text.

I thought of a pretty good reason why this is a good idea. In particular, as games change, and players change games, there's always going to be a need to update everything. It would be pretty hard to implement every idea. This idea allows GMs and players to put in information relevant to their game, regardless of what that game is. As a result, it would have nearly universal applicability, regardless of setting or game! I think that would be useful.

Ajax, Devs do not usually comment on the suggestions in the suggestion forum. If they did they would probably spend most of their time commenting on suggestions rather than actually working on Roll20. However, all suggestions are read. :)

I have a very similar idea in regards to this and didn't notice this thread till now, my mistake, here's a link to my thread with my own thoughts on how to better display this information My Topic
