Barely-Tested Player Desires A Game

To anyone reading this, I played DnD 5e for about half a year, once every other week.. Which turned into maybe once a month because people couldn't get their stuff together. In essence, it means that I've played very little and only ever gotten to lvl 3. Therefore, I'm not particularly skilled or experienced, but I'd really like to get better - and have fun while doing so! That being said, I'd love to find a group - or be adopted into one - that will be patient and help me grow. My goal eventually is to get enough experience to feel like I'm comfortable trying to DM. I've tried to join a few games through the game finder, but I think that part of what scares people off is that I'm in China, so my time zone is a little strange. Depending on the days/times, I'm still able to connect and play no problem. Just remember that if it's 6am EST, it's 6pm here - we're ahead. (I'm not Chinese, just teaching English over here for a year). My schedule in EST is Sun-Thurs 6pm-12am. Sun and Mon can be a bit more flexible. If any of this sounds interesting to you, please let me know! I'd love to start playing soon - I really miss it! ~K

Hi, I don't play D&D any more, but if you're willing to experiment, I'd love to have you as a player for a different game. My group stick together mostly, so if you join you get to run any other game I run parallel as well. If you want to be a DM I can help, but it's not something you can learn just by watching someone else do it. So yeah, if you're interested let me know and I'll try to make my schedule flexible. Anyway here's the games I play: Numenera: It's got the same themes as D&D, but instead of a tolkien fantasy world it's Earth 1 billion years in the future where the people are iron-aged but advanced technology of prior worlds are all around them. Instead of goblins and owlbears you fight robots and alien beasts. Instead of a +1 bow you are armed with a shotgun. Instead of magic you can run programming scripts that effect the world around you. Eclipse Phase: The game I'm currently running (and need players for). It's basically a post cyberpunk game where people can switch bodies, covet their mind to the internet, or literally become voltron. Also there's nanotechnology everywhere so everything from food to pistol sized, computer assisted RPGs can be made with a 3D printer and the raw resources you can dig up from your backyard. Also you get to kill things IN SPAAAAAAACE! Mutant: Year Zero: Post Apocalyptic game where the PCs are all mutants trying to keep their community alive by scavenging and dealing with drama at home. Call of Cthulhu: You get to fight Cthulhu in the 1920s... and probably die or go insane trying.
Hey Grim- Thanks for the reply! I'm willing to experiment, but fair warning - I'm only used to high fantasy, not sci-fi settings.. So it may take a moment for me to adapt to the correct setting. However, the first three sound pretty interesting - the last one not so much my speed. As for the DM thing - I assumed it may be a bit easier to start DMing after I've played the system a little bit and know some basic stuff from listening rather than starting at 0 and knowing nothing about the system and needing to learn everything at once. If you're currently playing something that fits my time schedule (that I posted), please let me know. We can double check on times and make sure they work. ~K
Hey Grim what day and time are you running eclipse phase? If you need more players ive been lookin to play it for so long
I wish it would auto-follow when I post... totally forgot about this, The game is 12 EST. PM me if you are still interested, I get notifications that way.
What days are you looking to run?
Satrurdays.
I'm unsure If I can accommodate your time zone, but if I can, I have a game on Saturday (8pm eastern)seeking new people, and I've recently started offering Sunday for another game (exact time to be determined). if those times can work I'll be happy to discuss more.
Hey Teller, Sorry for the delayed response, I moved places and it has been a bit hectic. Saturday doesn't work as I'll be at work during that time. If it's Sunday evening (8pm or later) I can join.
Not sure 8pm Sunday will work. Ah well.
Will a 4pm on a saturday work? I’m running a Pathfinder campaign for euro guys on saturdays 11am gmt+3
I am running a 5e D&D campaign 1-2x a month on Saturdays 4-8 pm cst. If interested DM Me.
We can help you setup your character sheet and workshop your backstory. Once we are done, we will walk new players through the three pillars of experience point advancement. There will be role play, dungeon exploration and combat experience. I have been running a consistent game on Roll20 for the better part of a year now. Finding consistent players is difficult in Roll20. It's also difficult at a tabletop. We have a large group of consistent players that play on a daily basis. We have a large scale open world. Each player can have their own version of the game that includes players and characters from the main world of Obsidian Bay. Our multiverse is a hodgepodge of homebrew and module based offerings. We own almost all the major modules available by Wizards of the Coast. Join our group of players, we play every day. Here are the time slots that we play in on a weekly and daily basis. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/110723/character-creation-workshop
Hey, just so you know, 6pm on Saturday in the US will be 6am on Sunday in China (or there about). I played with a man in Indonesia a little while ago, and when we started at 7pm Saturday he was starting at about 6am Sunday. That being said, if you are still interested, I am running a 3.5 game with some home rules on Saturnight (meaning Sunday morning for you).
