Object Blocking Dynamic Lighting

I was creating a dungeon recently and had a statue (object on token layer, so that the PCs can interact with it) and wondered if there was an easy way of setting up the dynamic lighting to be blocked on an object? I could set up a dynamic lighting wall around the object, but it would require moving the wall every time the PCs moved the object (it's a "put the statue on the pressure plate" kind of scenario).  I was thinking, you could have an option in the object's advanced settings (in the Emits Light area) that allows the object to block line of sight as if it were surrounded by a dynamic lighting area.  I figure this could be done somewhat easily on the programming level by simply having a dynamic lighting wall grouped with the perimeter of the object and the option be a checkbox to turn it off or on.  This would also be super helpful for things like Way of the Shadow monks, or really any class trying to make a stealth check to hide in the shadows, to know where exactly the shadows are on the map.  If anyone knows of a temporary solution to my problem, I'd be grateful for any feedback.
ask in the API forum about this - maybe someone can come up with something using the BUMP API and attaching a dynamic lighting wall on a bump that moves with the statue bump.
