[LFP] [5e] Looking for 2 more players for homebrew campaign. [GMT+1]

"It has been more than two hundred and fifty years since the Vis-Kapral, The Heavenly Son, rode from heaven astride a white mare, with warriors of light, engulfed in cloaks of virtuous flame, beside him. It was He who carried the words of the Atars, seven gods and goddesses of the enlightened path, which proclaimed the fall of the pagan beliefs that had led the world astray. … Although our heavenly emperor came with but a few warriors, the strength of the Atars infused his being and through him, the world would know the will and the strength of the Gods. Thus began the war of the false Gods: the war between the Atars and entities that had, since time immemorial, sought to beguile humankind and their allies in order to bolster their own prosperity and power. The war raged for a century, but the Vis-Kapral faith in humanity, and those who would cast aside their false gods, burned bright as the dawn when he first came to our aid … ... As a testament of humanity’s devotion to the Atars, they built the city of Gull, in honor of the holy Gullean Empire and humanity’s perpetual leader, the Vis-Kapral." Excerpt from the annals of the Gullean Empire The game: Hey, we're a group of three roleplayers, looking for two additional players to join our new homebrewed D&D 5e campaign. We're aiming to start the campaign within the next few weeks - A homebrewed world takes time to get involved in, and we want to make sure that you (as a future player) feels comfortable and knowledgeable about the world/game. We expect the campaign to be a longer running campaign, so obviously we're expecting players who are comfortable committing to a longer campaign (3-4 months+) The world, creatures within and lore surrounding the different races have all been adjusted to fit into the campaign setting, so don't expect the standard D&D experience - That being said, the game will make use of the pre-existing ruleset and the classes, although some have been lightly altered (Not in any major way that impacts the way the class is played). The game will be low to mid-fantasy (No ancient vampires or bloodthirsty werewolves to begin with) in the beginning and you'll be starting at level 2 - Further down the line, the game will transition into the more standard high-fantasy D&D setting. We're aiming to play weekly during a weekday, from 18:00 GMT+1 till around 22:00 GMT+1, specifics have not yet been set in stone. Our DM has over a thousand hours played on roll20 and 10 years of experience both as a player and DM. What we are looking for: We are looking for two experienced roleplayers, that enjoy a good mixture of roleplay and combat. Roleplay usually outweighs the combat, but it varies from session to session. We would like to know the following: Your age Nationality + Timezone Level of fluency Your experience with D&D and other tabletop games. Your preference in terms of playstyle Optional: Character idea (In regards to class, no pre-made/transferable character is accepted) Favorite games/movies/books etc. that inspires you in regards to roleplay. Feel free to add any additional information that you deem relevant. Criteria for joining the game: You must be able to play weekly (with exceptions of course) during a weekday, from 18:00 GMT+1 till 22:00 GMT+1. You must be able to commit to a longer campaign. You must be fluent in English, have a good microphone, have access to Discord or Skype and not be afraid to engage in serious roleplay. You must have a solid amount of experience in regards to roleplaying games. You must be socially adept and respect your fellow players and the DM's decision making.  When will we contact you? We aim to contact applicants within a week of posting - This is subject to change, depending on how many applications we will get. We look forward to hearing from you.
Found this by searching for the keyword "gmt". Age: 27 Nationality: Danish, GMT +1 Fluency: jagshemash! I am VERY good at the englishes, yes Experience: I've been in a few 5+ session-lived 5e/3.5e dnd games as a player and I'm a GM in my second +20 session Pathfinder campaign. The vast majority has been RL tabletopgaming. Playstyle: From my experience as a player I can say I'm a improviser and instigator and if you're unlucky "overcomplicator of plans". I'll try and find adventure even if it's not the most obvious way there. I also try to follow the rules as best I can - I am not unfamiliar with the spirit but that is up to the GM to decide.  I could think of a few character ideas : Fighter with unorthodox views concerning existence but apart from that a reliable destroyer of things Wizard taken from any classical RPG cover art. Researchlab, So many failed experiments but persistence is key. Curious and goodnatured Things I'd say I've thought helped determine my own RPG preferences Games: Neverwinter nights 1 persistent worlds & witcher 1-3 Book: fire and dust - a planescape story Additionally  I'd like to add that I understand roleplay will outweigh combat. But I'd like to see if there can be experimentation with many quick combats to require us players to be better at resource management. I hope to hear back from you!
Age:  22 Nationality: American - CST Fluency:  American Experience:  I have played a couple campaigns that have gone on for a couple months that puttered out due to people being too busy or losing interest (Not me though, that's why I want to commit to a long campaign. Therefore I am really well verse at levels 1-5, but a bit green after that. But I learn fast. I have also DM'd 3 one-offs with other friends. Playstyle:  While I am versed with the ways of 5e combat, I consider myself more of a character than a fighter when I play DnD. Roleplaying is quite fun to me. Character: I was thinking Fighter or Rogue this time around because both of them are quite new to me. But if I need to switch for variety, give me an hour and I can make an interesting character that fits the team. Games/Movies/Books: Inspiration really just comes from random characters in TV shows and video games or people I know. i play a lot of nintendo games, watch super hero movies, and read textbooks. Even though the timezone is around noon for me, I wake up early anyway on Saturdays so it's fine for me.
My age:19 and not much more nationality and timezone: Canada, GMT-2:30  fluency: english although youd doubt it is my first language and I know just enough french to probably not die in france or quebec.  My experience with D&D: about 5 years. A friend introduced me to pen and paper where I sort of dabbled a bit then roll20 came around in highschool and I started DMing games of 5e and pathfinder. To great success im still running a game.  My playstyle: very roleplay heavy, I enjoy exploring and interacting and maybe testing some peoples improv skills.  OPTIONAL: my horrid tendencies to play odd characters has led me to want to play a hobgoblin, to be odd and somewhat chaotic without being 2 feet tall, he would be a good lawful guy but his methods are.. Questionable. The books and movies that inspire me are very typically the lord of the rings and other such fantasy work, as well as just my own creativity my think tank never ever stops. Class im very flexible on however, ill play anything but a wizard as hobgoblins are smack talkers that like to fight I could be a bard or fighter or
Age:42 Nationality and Timezone: Scottish GMT Fluency: English and Romanian (Romanian due to living in country and daughter) Experience: Been playing D+D since Red box edition, have been in Pathfinder campaign on Roll 20 for last 2 years. Playstyle: Rogue, Morally ambiguous...happy, smiley...did i mention morally ambiguous Character: Thass is a half Drow Rogue, escaping the torment of Menzoberanzen, her only saving grace was she was female. Since escaping the Underdark she has had to live of wits and charm to survive. Her mother being executed for having a bastard halfbreed was possibly the last straw and caused deep resentment. Social Adaptivity: i work in customer service... i can smile at the most horrible bastard

Age: 22 Nationality: American - EST Fluency: American (english) Experience:I played in several 4e games and 1-2 5e games years ago, for the last 1-2 years my experience has been with Savage Worlds and Pathfinder. I have finished 3 full campaigns each being roughly 20-30 sessions Each. Playstyle: I enjoy Roleplay more than combat most of the time (Depending on character). In most of my games i'm typically a front-line player or an archer of sorts but I do love changing up my class to something i'm not used to. Character: A character I have been thinking about in terms of class is a Bladesinger, i've always loved the idea of mixing Melee combat with spell combat. In terms of personality She has a more refined quality too her, not so much like a noble, just is willing to listen and talk first in a more serious but considerate tone rather than charge forth into a situation. I have taken inspiraton from all types of mediums but I do like twisting it to make it original to me. Games:Dragon-Age:Origins, Final Fantasy XIV, Mass Effect, and other fantasy and Sci-fi Games Books: Witcher book series,1-2 Mass effect Books, and a mixture of other fantasy and Sci-fi novels. Thankfully GMT+1 being 5 hours ahead of me makes it easy to fit it into my work schedule :)
Age: 27 Nationality + Timezone: US, EST/EDT Fluency: Native speaker Your experience with D&D and other tabletop games: I've been playing since 2e, for over a decade now, and have been a DM for almost as long. Your preference in terms of playstyle: I enjoy both the mechanical and roleplaying side of the game about equally, so I'm not especially picky. I tend to enjoy the heavier side of roleplay, though I try not to be disruptive with the sending of letters and other shenanigans I tend to engage in. Character idea: I generally favor primary arcane spellcasters and strikers, but I'm not especially picky. I'm willing to fill whatever role a group needs to keep things well-rounded. I also tend to favor high-concept characters, but that depends on the world as well. I can't give more detail than that until I've gotten a chance to talk to the group and learn about the world, but I'm certainly interested. That's all I can think to add for the moment. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or anything like that.
Your age: 24 Nationality + Timezone: Latvian, GMT +3 Level of fluency: Fully proficient in English, lived in UK for a couple of years. Your experience with D&D and other tabletop games: Had a pretty large break recently being busy with personal life, but overall around 3-4 years of experience as both a player and a GM in various systems, mostly D&D. At this point, however, I'm ready to engage in a longer-running campaign! Your preference in terms of playstyle: I like a balanced game with slight lean on the role-playing aspect, assuming the combat is mechanically interesting (not just a slap-fest of attack rolls between 2 parties, but rather an encounter that encourages decision-making). I am of the opinion though, that if done right, combat and RP are not mutually exclusive! :) Optional: Character idea (In regards to class, no pre-made/transferable character is accepted): Would like to find out more about the setting first, but at the moment I'm thinking of a Dwarf Fighter.   Favorite games/movies/books etc. that inspires you in regards to roleplay. - LOTR, GoT, various CRPGs.
Age: 25 Nationality + Timezone: British, BST (GMT+1) Level of fluency: Native Experience: I have been playing for about a year and also have a reasonable amount of DM experience. I am an experienced role player and very comfortable engaging in character.  Play style: I enjoy over coming problems through interesting roleplay. I also like combat but try to make it interesting through description and story telling. I usually play melee characters rather than spellcasters. Character idea: Would really like to know more about the setting and I always try to create well integrated characters with the help of the DM. Very likely to be a melee class and a race that fits the setting nicely.  Favorite games/movies/books etc: Black Sails, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Critical Role Additional Information: I meet all the criteria and am keen to get involved. If you have any questions then please fire them over. I know I can bring value to your game and I can't wait to hear back from you.
Age: 23 Nationality + Timezone: Dutch (GMT+1) Level of fluency: Pretty good! I have a Cambridge English: Proficiency certificate and attended 10 years of international schooling.  Experience: I have roughly three years of experience playing 5E, but also played some 3.5 and Pathfinder before that. I DM'd some improv sessions. Play style: Dungeons and Dragons is mainly about the narrative for me. If this means three hours of combat in a cave, or three hours of political intrigue in an ancient Dwarven city, that's all good!  Generally I enjoy rollplaying conversation and actions in between players, I think that give the game that extra layer of "awesomeness". Technically, I love playing supports. Character idea: I tend to play a lot of bards, but I'd really like to try out a battlemaster fighter or swashbuckler rogue, flavoured as a great fencer. Story wise I'd chat with the DM first, something religious might be interesting to fit with the campaign. I am generally open to fit my character ideas to fit the campaign and group. Favorite games/movies/books etc: I love the way NPC's respond to world events and your character development in the first Fable game. When it comes to books the Broken Empire and Engineer Trilogy are great. Both have some fantasy, but also ground their stuff in reality, lovely! Additional Information: Your schedule works great with mine, and I am interested to see what great stories and worlds you guys have. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your replies everyone! We truly appreciate your interest. At this point in time we have filled all the player slots for the campaign.
