Ok. That functionality is completely separate from RecursiveTables. There was a way to make buttons in the journal that you could click to run API commands. That was an emergent feature with the previous editor. The new editor breaks that emergent feature, and people have been working with the devs to try and get it working again. Whatever he is putting in the buttons in the handout table would be the API command, which should still work fine. You might consider making a RollTemplate with the buttons in it instead, and create a macro that whispers the template to you.
