I do have preferences that will steer me. I like balanced stat arrays, such as with 27-point buy, so I don't feel left out being too underpowered stat-wise. If your game makes it worse or better that is fine, as long as we are on the same playing field without a need for me rolling. I love roleplay, its why I play TRPGs. The challenges of combat are nice, as are optimizing gameplay power through min-max, but if I prioritized that I would simply play video games on hard mode (which I do). I do like casual and fun RP, but I see it a bit too much lately and I'd like a more serious tone to it, even if the world is not super gritty. The homebrew race can be totally one-of-a-kind thing. https://www.gmbinder.com/documents/print/-LKG8G1np-FQFjBbQLAr I thought it would be a unique twist where one is already innately good natured, but still seen as a monster and enemy. You can tell me if you believe it under or overpowered. For example, I could add a negative -2 Str score like in normal kobolds, but I built it with the sense that it would be like other standard races, and not its own warped monster power level, such as yuan-ti with Magic Resistance, kobolds with Pack Tactics or orcs with -2 Int. It still has a major detriment, but that is intentional, much like Sunlight Sensitivity on drow, just with a new roleplay angle of never wanting to be alone. I could also buff it if it seems too weak compared to other races, as I did have a lot of traits in mind that I couldn't fit in. The character's name is Iska, and she'd be a Life Cleric. That said, I was thinking of two minor alterations for the class, since she'd have no use for some of them. Its a Dex build so heavy armor is useless, so I was thinking of just replacing it with gaining the Light cantrip that the Light Domain already has. Also replace Divine Strike with Potent Spellcasting (used in many other Domains), since she won't be a melee combatant. She'd worship a very minor deity named Iothir, who uplifted her and practices benevolence and kindness in action.
