Because of the School season starting back up I've unfortunately lost one of my players. They will no longer be able to take part in the games so here I am. This campaign is set by a Bi-weekly schedule every Tuesday starting at 4:30 pm EST. It has already started (obviously), but were not that far along in yet. We've only had about 5 sessions so far, but things are looking pretty good. I've had some experiences with bad players before as a DM and so what I'm really looking for here is someone who is punctual and is willing to put some effort into my game. We're a chill group that likes to have fun and I'm looking for a player that wants to do that too. My Game Next session is Tues, Sept 25th I run a very high fantasy world that is very big. Like real big. I'm pretty open to all kinds of homebrew stuff (I screen it first) and there is whole lot of content to explore. And whole wack of lore there for you if you want to learn it. I like to be very descriptive in my narrative and really try make you think about what's in front of you; build a vivid visual, if you will. The campaign is really big, so there's a lot of stuff goin on. It works dynamically: I keep track of various events around the world and you guys will experience some of the changes vicariously. For example, you might feel an impact in trade prices do to an influx of a certain type of goods or hear about new political alliances or marriages. I try to make it seem like the world isn't centered around the party, but rather the party who is in the world. The Current Setting The current setting of the campaign is set 500 years after an event called the 'All-War'. This event altered the landscape irreversibly(?) and changed how people live their lives. The main local for this campaign is most likely going to take place in a location known as the Free Isles or 'The Roil'. This location is important because it's where the inner planes have collapsed onto one-another creating an evershifting vortex of magic. Resources and trade are abundant here and it's the in-between point between the two great powers of the world. You know what that means? A practically lawless frontier with pirates galore. There's alot more to say about the setting and the world in general, but I'll leave it simple until you're picked to join the game. The Party The current members of the party are:  Your Ship's captain, John: A dark and broody youth with a good head on his shoulders, boundless ambitions and an eerie magic sword at his waist. He's a Hexblade Warlock. Your resident Doctor, Anchor: A recently turned vampire woman with a brash personality and a lot of secrets. She's essentially a war cleric, but it's a homebrew class.  The wayfaring wildman, Valik: A shaggy monk with a penchant for testing his strength and love for nature. He has a good heart and a pet dog that's made of plants. The rockin' bard, Johnny Onyx: This is the player that's leaving.  The dark Princess, Ophelia: An NPC princess with a dark past and a darker power. She's on the run from her brother and the party decided to take her in and give her shelter. What I Need From You Convince me on why you wanna join the campaign. Tell me about yourself, maybe about the character you want to play, etc... In short, go nuts.
Greetings, I go by moon or shade depending on what the group wants to call me I'm a 22 year old collage student with 4 years of tabletop experience, 2 of which included dnd 5e and 2000 hours of roll20 time. I'm a chill player that enjoy mocking my character's idiotic ideas while doing them. I was thinking of playing a ghostwise halfling druid if I'm in the game. If you decide not to, I hope you have fun :)
I have a work schedule that alternates every 2 weeks. What tuesday night is your game? This week or the next week?
It's in the post. It's on this coming Tues.

How long would the sessions be? If they're only like 2-4 hours or so I'd be able to (i'm UK based so it's evening for me). i'm currently DMing a 5e game on wednesday with friends, but i'm looking to find a game to actually play too. I'm 26 and from UK (hopefully moving to US some point next year though). I'd maybe think of rolling a ranged Fighter who does a lot of crowd control using things like nets and whatnot, due to their background as an impoverished-fisher-turned-brigand; but if the party thinks they could do with anything in particular i'd be happy to roll whatever suits best.

Oh! My goodness, how did I not notice this before? Most thoroughly uncouth~ I'd be very much deeply interested in playing if the offer is still something that's currently on the table. So -- I would very much like to play for the following reasons; The setting sounds fantastic -- it feels very grand and a sort of ultra expansive fantasy world I'd like to delve into~ I'm very much in love with homebrew shenanigans and what it can bring to the table as far as a role play aspect is concerned It's on a very much perfect day where I can attend whether its 2 hours long or 8 hours long. The idea of a huge, expansive world with lots of things to explore and discover has been a thing that's been very absent from a lot of the games that I tend to sit down and play, so being able to participate in a world that I can get ultra invested into, learn from, and actively engage in sounds like something that I've been wanting for a very, very long time. The fact that your setting is set up in this way makes me very much feel as though you're a pretty well organized individual which is always super nice, and the idea that you'd like for it to be pretty open gives me faith that you're a rather talented DM, which is many aces in my book~ The party itself thus far sounds really diverse and interesting, with a lot of cute little dynamics to ounce off of in an effort to tell a pretty awesome story with all things considered~ Pirates! Oooooh that sounds neat! The idea of a dynamic world where our actions could have a possibility of having a lasting effect sounds  a m a z i n g  and really feels like the spirit of D&D that I've been missing out on in the campaigns I've attended. I could be wrong -- but from the sounds of things this is a campaign that's not only looking for players that would be interested in staying around for a very, very long time, but also a campaign that will go on for a very long time in and of itself, which is something that I've been wanting for a while as well. I'd like nothing more than to have like, 4 or 5 campaigns that I can play over the course of years and years and years. The setting and characters themselves also sounds like a great outlet for having those wonderful, wonderful "D&D Stories" that I hear so much about (ala  Critical Role  or  XP to 3 ) which is also one of the things I want the most . On myself; I am Monica! It is a pleasure to meet you! <3 I've been playing D&D 5e for like, 2 and a half years. My first character was a Human Fighter! To this day I've used her, and she's become a level 10 Hexblade and I love her to death. I like making characters very much -- both in a statistical sort of sense and role play -- I feel as though when the two come together then a character can be beautifully fleshed out~ When it comes to D&D I feel as though the three things you really need for a game to be fun is a good DM, good friends, and a good character. I mean -- I tend to value role play over all else, but I also feel as though if you can't quite back up some of your shenanigans mechanically then it kind of falls apart, so I tend to try and optimize my characters as much as I can towards being as true to their form as possible to create a feel of statistical and authorial integrity. I like to try and be very respectful to my fellow players and to the DM at all times -- and I very much shy away from problem behaviors. I'm super fast and loose with rulings and I'm down with whatever the DM has to say -- even when I make an Evil character I never throw them against the party -- whenever I try to maximize combat efficiency I always do so within a character's story (and always prioritize my character's story over combat efficiency) and I'd never try to make a character that makes the party feels useless. Furthermore, I always, always, always make a character that has no apprehension when it comes to adventuring and being active in the party~ Also -- I am over 20. Maybe I'm almost 30 <u<;; On my character; I'd like to play my Kenku, a little feathery girl named Gylde who, after being taken in as a scribe by a powerful old woman, is granted immense power upon her passing, thus having magic infused into her blood and allowing her to become something greater than what she once was. She travels the world to try and obtain the key to becoming her "one true self." She'll likely be a Sorceress of some sort -- and I'll likely be choosing a subclass depending on what the party needs (Tanks/Heals/DPS) though her personality will likely be the same. If you want her to be a bard to replace the last she can Her Personality :: Besides being a sweet gullible idiot, she tends to be rather inquisitive. Though she's a Kenku and Kenku's tend to have problems speaking, she does her best to communicate, whether she's stitching words together or writing things down -- she's the sort of girl that doesn't caw at people (like I've had some players do -- constantly -- and loudly x~x;;; ). Ultimately she tends to go out of her way to please people, especially folks who are nice to her and/or she considers friends. I can have her character sheet finished by today or tomorrow, easy! I'm more than happy to talk more about her character story/background -- I do have it far more fleshed out, I just don't want to bog this down with waaaaaay too much text~ If you're super interested (oh please please please ;~;) you can feel free to contact me on Discord at Utane Evergale#1169~

So the game usually runs from around 4:30 to about 9-10. I usually aim for about 5h but I try to look for a good place to end it. Sometimes that means we have to end before the big encounter and sometimes that means we push through and finish it.
