Mouse Guard RPG(looking for Players)

Looking for Players for a game of mouse guard I will be GMing. The probably wont start for about 3 weeks. I'm willing to take on new players and teach them the system, Mouse Guard is a very character driven game it also very role play focused. if you want anymore details message me through Skype or post in this thread. Skype:feliz1942
If there weren't a non-trivial chance that I'll be traveling for work in the coming months, I would love to join in. I've already got the books (comics + RPG), but, beyond a single demo session, haven't really had a chance to play the game.
How come so many people ask about joining a game but, when a thread pops up looking for players people just ignore it?
Unless you've had specific requests for Mouse Guard that are now being ignored, my guess is that, it's because you're not offering D&D. Still, give it some time, at least for those of us in the US, it's still the middle of the work day.
Am I late to the party?
No, I'm still looking for players.
How come so many people ask about joining a game but, when a thread pops up looking for players people just ignore it? Probably it's because D&D makes up such a large majority of the hobby that many of its fans use "game" to mean "game of D&D ", just as they use "4th ed." or "4e" to mean "4th edition of D&D ". When they said they were looking for a game, a game of Mouse Guard , GURPS , Shadowrun , CyberPunk 2020 , Call of Cthulhu , ForeSight , or HindSight isn't what they meant.
Yeah I see what your saying Agemegos. though people should be more willing to try more things. anyone who has enjoyed the hobby for a while knows that D&D(all of them) are good systems, but not great systems.
Anyway, I don't know much about Mouse Guard except what I've inferred from mentions on the Story Games forums. Is it swashbuckling adventure in the spirit of The Three Musketeers , but in which the PCs are intelligent, talking, sword-wielding mice? Does the game have some sort of story mechanics? What sort of schedule were you thinking of running, and what time zone are you in?
not really swashbuckling, but the rest is accurate. the PCs are intelligent mice in the mouse guard, a group of mice who do duties to help the common-mice live there lives(mice are pretty much the bottom of the food chain) these can include delivering letter, defending the territories from predators, preparing for floods(weather effects mice in a big way), trailblazing, simply patrolling and so on. as far as game mechanics go it is dice pool system derived from burning wheel it is a simple system, easy to pick up.the game is very character focused you get to pick traits which if you're fellow partol(party) members agree can change to reflect your character more accurately you can play the traits for bonuses or negatives(whatever makes sense). it also uses beliefs and instincts and goals Beliefs are what your character believes very strongly about for example say my character believes "protecting nature is of utmost importance" then the challenges I will set out will reflect that testing how strong you believe "protecting nature" is. Instincts are your character basic reaction they can be to lift your shield when danger approaches or to run and hide or whatever. Goals are a simple personal goal your character wishes to complete before the end of the session I could continue on for hours about this game I just love it.
I have never read the comics, but I am interested. Reepicheep was always my favorite character in the Narnia books. I have always heard good things about Mouseguard, The RPG game and the comics.
yeah, well I'm looking for players are you in? my Timezone is PST -8 btw Skype:Feliz1942 I attached a character sheet to this post
That's a pretty handy-looking character sheet. It seems to have a complete summary of tthe action rules on it. What time would you play? 8 PM to midnight every Monday and Wednesday?
6pm-10 or maybe 7-10 on Mondays and Wednesdays works for me.
Sorry about that. It's unlikely to be practical for me to play and in truth I'm not especially keen. I only meant that as an example. You ought to specify the times that will suit you, and see what players will go for them.
I need to check some things to see if I can play then.
If you don't mind that I haven't read the comics (yet!), I would really love to play.
Yeah I'd play this probably what kind of foes would there be?
Can I fight tom as jerry? Le inspiration <a href="http://cartoons.jocuri100.ro/images/tom_and_jerry_11.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://cartoons.jocuri100.ro/images/tom_and_jerry_11.jpg</a>

I'd love to play I was sort of just joshing about the jerry thing. Although that will be my characters name. DIBS

Nicholas, Trace, Allen, and I'm not sure about Balladeer Please communicate with your patrol, I want one patrol leader OR Guard captain. unless someone can find a form-fillable character sheet that you can save you will need to print up your own.
unless someone can find a form-fillable character sheet Check <a href="http://www.burningwheel.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mouse_Guard#Form-Fillable_Character_Sheet" rel="nofollow">http://www.burningwheel.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mouse_Guard#Form-Fillable_Character_Sheet</a> I was planning on playing a tenderpaw, but my concept is easily tweakable for any rank.

A tenderpaw will work fine, I just don't want multiple patrol leaders.
I love mouseguard and would be keen to play, although I'm in GMT +10 which might throw a spanner in the works a little.
Although it's looking like you may have hit quorum anyway?
Although it's looking like you may have hit quorum anyway? I won't be able to play, unfortunately.
If you're still looking for players, I'm interested in learning (and might have a friend potentially willing to learn also). I'm on West coast (PST) as well, and near anytime you set should work.
I think we have reached capacity(Josh your timezone is 6 hours before mine(and Kohler's) so if anything opens up I will tell you.) Trace, Nicholas and Kohler I have 1 other player I will set up a group chat in Skype to talk about details Skype:feliz1942
Times been worked out 6-9 PST on Mondays and Wednesdays
Can i join still?
Looking at some of the above comments it looks like you are fuul up already but I wanted to go ahead and say that I have been wanting to try Mouse Guard out for a long time so if a position opens up I am totally in!
