Hello. If you still need a player or need to fill a vacated slot, this game is perfect times for me and I am interested in the campaign setting! About me: Discord: Spieldog#2311 Name: Aaron Age: 41 Gender: Male (he/him) Experience with 5e and Roll20: played 5e since it was created. Played 2e for many years in my teens. Played a lot of Roll20 though I have been away a few months. I am like 2 episodes behind on the new Critical Role season. I have a couple character ideas that would fit, I think, listed in order of my interest to play/explore them. PC idea 1 Name: Bowie Goldleaf (Bowathalanas Goldleaf) Race: Wood Elf Class: Kensei Monk Age: 214 Background: Outlander (Pilgrim) Bowie is a kind, joyous, helpful elf who enjoys the simple pleasures in life. In his downtime he enjoys smoking a pipe and sketching a scene from the day's journey or experiences. He would interact with the other players as a kind, older Mentor who has seen a thing or two, with occasional wise advice (like Iroh in The Last Airbender). Bowie has been traveling to learn all fighting styles from other monk orders. His fighting style combines typical elf longsword/longbow prowess with powerful, sweeping kicks and high flying aerial moves. Also, he is constantly helping those in need. However, he has another purpose, which has led him to this continent. 300 years ago a mighty warrior from his society disappeared along with a mighty Moonblade sword she wielded. This woman was also his grandmother and the Moonblade was Golden Leaf, a family relic passed down generations. The sword was also a symbol of the Goldleaf family's honor, and the family has had a diminished status without it. Bowie is fully convinced of his destiny to find Golden Leaf and to be its next wielder. Recent clues led him to travel to where this adventure starts to find it. Given the high level of the item, I would expect this story to drag out to high levels like 15+. (Ideally, would play him with Elven Accuracy feat for combat and would have wisdom based skills like insight and survival.) PC idea 2 Name: Hadrian Blackburn Race: Variant Human Class: Vengeance Paladin (or Battlemaster Fighter if that is a better fit). Age: 24 Background: Noble Hadrian was evacuated with a trusted vassal from his native home before some tragic world event. Growing up, his "uncle" hinted that the Blackburn family was important (is he a prince? A Duke? Who can say, he doesn't yet know) and somehow negatively involved in the what occurred. Hadrian's uncle died a couple years ago in a carriage accident unable to tell Hadrian the full story of where he comes from. Hadrian is beginning the return to where he comes from to reclaim his legacy and to right any wrongs his family may have committed. If paladin, he is Vengeance oath, but a good man rather than a dark, brooding edge lord. Hadrian is a good man who wants to help people and fight the evils of both men and monsters. He is not lawful stupid. (Are feats allowed? I'd like to play this guy with polearm master and a couple other feats.) PC idea 3 Name: Aeryn Race: Variant Human Class: Barbarian Zealot Age: 30 Background: Urchin Aeryn grew up as an orphaned street urchin in the major city of X. As he entered adulthood, though he was very handsome, his streetwise ways and burly build were put to use as a street tough and thug. He was not a nice guy and he did bad things. However, that all changed when he met Shayanna. This beautiful, kind, sweet woman tamed the street thug and showed him he had a kind and generous heart. Aeryn was completely head over heels in love with Shayanna; she had his heart and soul. Cut to several years later and the happily married couple were living an honest life and expecting their first child. Shayanna enters labor and only Aeryn is there to help with child birth. As he places his new daughter into the arms of his wife, there is confluence of divine, radiant energy. His wife is actually X the Goddess of Love and Hearth. He has been part of some rebirth cycle where she has lived and loved and given birth to herself. As she explains and vanishes, she reminds him he is a good man who can make a positive impact in the world and while may one day earn a place by her side. Aeryn would be role played like a good paladin (not lawful stupid) might be played. He is completely in love with and devoted to his goddess. What happened to him may or may not be real, but it is real to him. He is fighting evil forces in the world to earn his final rest some day at his wife's side. Goddess X's specific religion does not preclude him also finding romantic love with mortals. (Rather than a slobbering barbarian from the outlands, he is a city based guy with thief-like skills. His rage is the welling of zealous passion for his Love filling him, rather than anger.) His goddess is not worshipped in the city he comes from, so he is travelling to learn about her and her religion. He maybe is seeking relics or texts or temples? She could be an ancient goddess he is rediscovering or a popular goddess is some other land, whatever may fit the story.
