help with macros

I am playing pokerole to do a pokemon mystery dungeon game, and the way that skills are rolled is that to roll initiative, you roll a d6 for each point in dexterity + survival + alert, so if they have 2 points in dex, and 1 in survival, and 1 in alert, 4d6's have to be rolled, is there a way to make macros that do that? Macros are really confusing to me...

Do you add up all the dice rolled, or do something else with the dice? Here are a couple of evrsions for you Here's a version that would work as a character Ability (added to the Attributes & Abilities tab of the character) /roll @{dexterity)+@{survival} + @{alert}d6  If you want to have each group shown separately: /roll @{dexterity)d6+@{survival}d6 + @{alert}d6 You could also use an inline roll if you just want to show the result, something like Initiative Roll:  @{dexterity)d6+@{survival}d6 + @{alert}d6 If you want the roll to automatically add to the Turn Tracker, you must have the token selected, and add  &{tracker}  to the macro, like so /roll @{dexterity)+@{survival} + @{alert}d6  &{tracker} /roll @{dexterity)d6+@{survival}d6 + @{alert}d6  &{tracker} Initiative Roll:  @{dexterity)d6+@{survival}d6 + @{alert}d6  &{tracker} The above macros work only for a single character. If you want to make them universal, you add either selected| or target| to the attribute names, like so /roll dexterity)+@{selected|survival} + @{selected|alert}d6  &{tracker} /roll @{selected|dexterity)d6+@{selected|survival}d6 + @{selected|alert}d6  &{tracker} Initiative Roll:  dexterity)d6+@{selected|survival}d6 + @{selected|alert}d6  &{tracker} You could save one of these macro in your universal Macros tab list, and can use it with any token. If you add it to your macro bar or set it as a token action, it will always be available.
with the dice, if the d6 rolls a 4, 5, or 6 its a success, so as long as i can see the numbers that it rolls i can work it out

What happens if two people roll the same initiative total? Is there some kind of tiebreaker? You can add >4  to get successes reported, like one of these: /roll (@{selected|dexterity)+ @{selected|survival} + @{selected|alert})d6>4  &{tracker} /roll @{selected|dexterity)d6>4 +@{selected|survival}d6>4 + @{selected|alert}d6>4  &{tracker} Initiative Roll:  dexterity)+@{selected|survival}+@{selected|alert})d6>4  &{tracker}
i dont know what to do if there a tie breaker, i'll just flip a coin or something between them, but thank you so much for the help!! macros might as well be another language for me, i just dont have the knack for it ><
ive been trying the but they come up with errors, with /roll @{dexterity)d6+@{survival}d6 + @{alert}d6 it says that c is undefined and in /roll @{selected|dexterity)d6>4 +@{selected|survival}d6>4 + @{selected|alert}d6>4  &{tracker} it says attributes not found and that theres an error
i found the problem, there was a ) rather than }
is there a way to say how many 1's are rolled?

sorry about the mistake with the brackets. There's no way for it to report the number of 1s rolled as well as the number of successes. But it does show the 1s and 6s in a different colour to make then easy to stand out, and you can sort the dice, to group them all together to make them easier to count, like so: /roll (@{selected|dexterity}+@{selected|survival}+@{selected|alert})d6sa>4  &{tracker}
thank you so much for all your help, you are an angel hopefully i dont have any more questions (i probably will)
is there a way to hide the dice rolls and just show the result?

Yes, putting the roll in inline brackets will do this: dexterity}+@{selected|survival}+@{selected|alert})d6sa>4  &{tracker} You might want to put a label before the roll Initiative: dexterity}+@{selected|survival}+@{selected|alert})d6sa>4  &{tracker} You can also pretty it up a bit with the default roll template &{template:default} {{@{selected|token_name}=dexterity}+@{selected|survival}+@{selected|alert})d6sa>4  &{tracker} }}
