[LFG]Mature Player Looking For Roleplay Heavy Game[Zombie Survival]

Hello! I'm looking for a roleplay heavy, long-term campaign. I prefer epic storylines (or at least sandboxes with opportunities for epic storylines) and lots of story and interpersonal drama to dig in to. I’d also prefer to find a group that engages in role play with one another and a GM who doesn’t mind taking a step back and allowing role play to happen rather than constantly pushing to "get to the action". Who I am : I’m 32, Female, and have over 22 years of experience as a player of various systems under my belt. I also have over 19 years of experience as a GM, though I am not looking to run a game at this time. I write both for a living and as a hobby, so I value story and character depth. I am not a “crunchy” player, so it’s worth putting that out there up front. If your group is the type to nitpick and go with minute details in the rules rather than what serves the game/narrative overall, I’m not your girl. I guess this could be summed up best by saying that I am a ROLE player, not a ROLL player. What I’m looking for:  A group of ADULT (21+) role players who aren’t here to be murder hobos. It's also worth noting that just because I want the other players to be over 21 doesn't mean I'm interested in having ERP or anything like that, I just prefer playing with people who are more mature and have more life experience than someone younger. A group that can be sensitive to each other both as people and as fellow gamers. A group that has as much respect for each other and the GM as they do for anyone else. A GM who can handle the demands of GMing, both from world-based stuff like NPC building and world crafting, to story stuff like weaving in character backgrounds and such so the story becomes more relevant to the characters and the players themselves. Something lasting that we can all get invested in (sorry, I really am not big on one-shots, I find them difficult to enjoy because they’re difficult to get into the story and character with). I'd also like to note that as a player, I come from an old school line of thought that designing characters should, to some degree, involve talking to the rest of the players. A party doesn't have to have a "holy trinity" of tank, healer, and caster, but there should be some balance involved, and shouldn't be too heavy in one direction or another. There's a number of reasons for why I feel this way... which I can explain if you reach out to me, but I don't want to clog my listing more than I have. I'd also like to know that the players and GM will all get together before the game and have a Session 0/Meet and Greet where they can discuss what they want from the game, what homebrew rules are being used, etc. Nothing is worse than everyone coming to the table with wildly different desires and expectations, and finding out after people have invested time and effort into their characters. I also want to stress that I am not going to stick around if the people in the game waste my time. I don't want to spend big chunks of a session listening to people goof off and refuse to take anything seriously. If this is your play style, that's fine and more power to you, but the second your behavior starts to detract from the experience, I will leave. I'm not here to listen and watch you refuse to show the GM a basic modicum of respect by ignoring his requests that you keep on topic and focus. You're not just wasting your time, you're wasting  everyone's  time. In short... I want to find a group that treats this as a cooperative game, not as a group game with a bunch of individuals all tugging at the game to "get theirs" without any thought for the other players. Here are some specifics : System : I'm very open to systems for this, as this is not a genre I typically play in. I will say that I want to avoid Pathfinder and D&D for this. World:  Homebrew is generally preferred, but with some systems it's obviously preferable to go with a pre-existing setting/world. Availability:  Every other Monday evening, Thursday evenings, and Saturday or Sunday prior to 5 pm EST Medium : Voice based ONLY (I will not cam, do not ask). I am willing to do rp via text between sessions, and genuinely enjoy doing so. Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds for rolling and Skype, Hangouts, or Discord for voice. Special Note:  I'm NOT going to pay you. FAQ : Q : If you're so picky, why don't you just run a game? A : I don't want to. If I wanted to, this would be an ad for players. Q : If you find a game, will you let me know/send the GM my info/invite me to join? A : Probably not. It's not hard to write up your own ad. It's not even hard to write up an ad that garners attention like mine. If you're not willing to write your own ad, it's safe to say I'm probably not going to be interested in helping you out.

Hello, it appears you share a similar passion for storytelling. I have a group consisting of myself and two others. We've been finding it difficult to include a third player into our party who can round out certain dynamics, which are different depending on the characters being played of course. We share a lot of your sentiments when it pertains to One-Shots, and people not staying on task. we pride ourselves on making people, who have internal struggles alongside the natural obstacles presented from the scope of a campaign. This may sound weird, but my close friend and I often compare my games to soap operas, mostly due to the twists, and drama between characters, NPCs and the like. I am the GM I am always looking for players who want to help tell a tale, I believe it is as much your story as it is mine and we should work collaboratively to assure it's a good one. I know when to sit back, and i'm working on interjecting when things become dry or using the interruption as a way to preserve tension for a later argument between the characters. I've been doing this for around 13-14 years and I can confidently say I put everything into my campaigns, but not in the traditional way. I'm not a huge preplanner, I like organic conversations and actions to dictate the course of a story. So when I say I put everything into it, I mean I spend countless hours thinking about the scenarios in which NPCs react, and the possible reactions players will have/where that will lead them. I love getting to know the characters, not just their backstories, but how they think, and why they think that way. I may not be the most grand of storytellers, and continuity may suffer in the moment in exchange for a dramatic scene, but my games are engaging and entertaining if nothing else.  As for systems I've ran D&D, and City of Mist, but most of my experience comes from a homebrew system, within a homebrew world. I'm not huge on the rigidness of "rules" and tend to tweak almost any publication to make things more streamlined. The fantastic will always outweigh the realistic when it comes to mechanics. I like flashy extravagant things, especially when regarding spells or magic.  Currently we've just started a game on Tuesdays which I see is outside of your availability, however we're on the lookout for at least one more player to join us in the future for a Podcast. I really want to focus on bringing serious role-play to the actual play world. I'd like to exchange discord information if possible, so when the time comes we can speak and see if you'll be a good fit into that environment, if interested of course. I have begun recording a few of our City of Mist games for "practice" and to gauge what needs worked on before going "live", so if you would like a preview before agreeing to anything, I have that available to share. It could also be a good indicator to see if our style and my GMing fits into what you expect out of games. Any questions feel free to ask, I'm always up for a discussion when it comes to Role-playing.
Still looking. I have a handful of different system PDFs, and am especially interested in playing All Flesh Must Be Eaten!
