Chat is broken, kidna unplayable

Whenever someone in our campaign tries to say something in chat, a new iteration of what can be seen in the attacked photo floods the chat. This has made the usage of macros and rolls in roll20 pretty much unplayable. This occurred even when Firbolg(myself) was not in the game, and with the macros that are being presented off of the macro bar. The game had been launched with 4 people in it for over an hour with this issue persisting, and even continued well after everyone left and returned. The chat log displays everything completely normally. The in-game chat does not. Thank you for the help!

It shows symptoms of a corrupted chat text (bad macros do this sometimes). To resolve the current issue the Game Creator needs to clear the chat archive from outside the game (inside the game does not resolve the issue) by clicking on the setting button and choosing to clear chat archive. Just make sure you open the archive and copy anything you want to keep prior to clearing it. After it is cleared, anyone inside will have to refresh their browser to reload the game (exiting and re-entering works also).

Or will existing macros need to be removed to handle corruption?

Macros and abilities should be untouched as will characters and journals. The only thing you will lose is the history of what was printed to chat. If you load the chat history before deleting, you can save a great deal of it to disk before you delete it. (The archiving Pat described)
Thank you for the advice, Pat and Keith.  Please let us know Alex if this helps you!
