An option to control aura rotation through token rotation

Auras are fixed in position, regardless of the rotation of the token they originate from. For tokens with square footprints this is fine, but tokens with non-square footprints suffer, because if rotated out of their default angle their aura no longer conforms to their shape, nor to the established fiction of the situation. For example, the cursed crocodiles menacing these adventurers have an aura of bloodlust that affects people around them.  Crocodile A's aura reflects how this is intended to work in the scenario, but Crocodile B's aura is useless to the players and the GM, since it doesn't actually telegraph what this ability's range or appearance is supposed to be. Aura rotation being attached to token rotation was actually in effect not long ago, and apparently it was considered a bug, which has since been corrected. As far as I'm concerned, it wasn't a bug but a feature, and one I'd like back. If the currently-intended behaviour is for auras not to rotate, then what I suggest is for an option to toggle rotation on or off just like visibility can be toggled on or off. This would allow non-square auras to continue to conform to the shape and position of their tokens if desirable, while preventing undesired rotation as normal.

Just so you're aware, the squished auras are also something that was introduced in January, likely also inadvertently.  I would especially like this option if it consists of 2 checkboxes per aura: [ ] Rotates with Token [ ] Fixed Aspect Ratio
That's a good point, and definitely should be included. Sometimes you may want the aura to keep a square footprint even if the token doesn't. My current workaround for this issue is to make a transparent circle in GIMP that I can stretch or squash as need, and place it under the token that needs an oblong aura, but it's a small hassle to make them, and a huge hassle to move tokens and their "auras" in conjunction with each other.
