[LFG] Need to learn the ropes.

Hello!, I am extremely new to this type of game play. I've never played a table top before but recently I've been listening to some podcasts that have me extremely interested in learning about table tops and getting more involved. If some one has the time and patients to help me learn I would be grateful to them. I am of the type who learns the best by doing so if someone wants to throw me in a game with them and a group of people that would be great too. Thank you for reading this!
Hi Blake I love your enthusiasm and I think we can get along really well. I'm in a game that hasn't started yet but where the GM has a grand vision, sort of like a mini-Game of Thrones situation except the world setting is more primitive, more like the Vikings TV show. Low/no magic, swords, bows, monstrous animals, exploring, growing a house. Eight houses, four people in each house, there's room for 32 participants but so far we only have eighteen participants. it's like eight games in one, eight campaigns going on simultaneously independently, then eventually we'll start bumping into each other. I serve as narrator (GM) for this house over here, meanwhile, someone else GMs my house. So I joined last week and I asked a lot of questions and did a lot to help. It's based on a game system I know well. An opening occurred and yesterday I was offered a house and I took it. Well, it turns out, of the other eighteen people we have so far, I have nobody else in my house. Just me. I have room for three other people. We'd have to explore our territory, grow, meet whatever challenges, and then at some point, we run into those guys over there. And then we'll run into those guys over there as well. I think a game like this works for you because you can be assured that a veteran player will do everything he can to help your character grow. What I need is enthusiastic, reliable people.. I know the ASoIaF game system very well and will teach you every trick I know for building characters. There's eight campaigns, not one so a time suitable is available for you but if evenings US time is good for you, ask into House Vettegar, or any house, it need not be mine. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/4740683/lords-of-nysra
Hello again Jeff H., Just wanted to also provide the additional information here. By default a link such as https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/1234567/s ... is only visible to players already in the game, and only Plus and Pro subscribers can make their games visible to the public , but even then people not in the game can not post to the forums. The best way to handle this situation is to create a Looking for Group listing ; even if you do not enable it for viewing in the LFG Directory you can share the link with others and have a separate Listing Discussion forum just for those potentially interested in your game. As a bonus, anyone who posts to your game's Listing Discussion forum will have a big blue button by their username and all a GM has to is click 'Invite to Game' and an invitation will be sent their way. I hope this helps, happy gaming! :)
