Best way to set defaults for attributes in character sheet editor

Hello, is there a good way to set defaults for attributes in the character sheet editor? I have a button to roll a check currently on my sheet, but on newer character sheets that might not have changed a value in order to create the attribute, it fails. Any ideas?

In the same line as your attribute, you can set a value.  Whatever value you set will be the default, but will be overwritten by anything entered manually.  There are quite a few lines on my sheet that have this so that macros won't fail: value='0' Obviously, you can set that for whatever number you want as default.  A full line from my sheet with that used: <input class='roll-field' type='text' title='Initiative Bonus' value="0" name="attr_initiative_mod" />

In addition to that, if the attribute is in a select/dropdown, use selected on the option you want to be default. And for a checkbox, use checked if you want it to be checked by default.
