https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/174515/avernus-saturday This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10 US dollars per session paid via PayPal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Welcome to Baldur’s Gate, a city of ambition and corruption situated at the crossroads of the Sword Coast. You’ve just started your adventuring career, but already find yourself embroiled in a plot that sprawls from the shadows of Baldur’s Gate to the front lines of the planes-spanning Blood War! Do you have what it takes to turn infernal war machines and nefarious contracts against the archdevil Zariel and her diabolical hordes? And can you ever hope to find your way home safely when pitted against the infinite evils of the Nine Hells? The first game of the main campaign will be on the 22nd of September after the release date on the 17th. For the next three weeks we will do a prelude game with different characters that will most likely die and end up as NPC's when the main campaign sends you to the Nine Hells. I run a few pay to play campaigns each week because I have the free time, I find it makes the game more enjoyable as people are more invested, myself as the DM and all your fellow players, we don't waste time and everyone is in this together. Also if you can be respectful of others, communicate clearly and act like a mature adult that is all I ask of you. The prelude campaign over the next three weeks will be done with level six characters, once the main book is released we will start at level one and go through the whole thing, the campaign should take us to atleast 13th level. Sessions are 4 hours or a little more in length, discord for voice communication and text chat during the week, payments are due before the game session, you need a working headset so the rest of us don't hear feedback or to much background noise. Color maps, I am not certain if the new adventure will use the black and white style maps by default but if they do I will most assuredly purchase color versions of them, I have a strong dislike of b/w art.
Hello. I wanted to ask in what way do you utilize the maps? You just upload them into Roll20?
There are some great maps on Roll20 marketplace for general hellscapes like these from Gabriel Pickard . https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/1359/hassle-free-castles-demon-forts https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/874/quick-encounters-fire-and-brimstone and there will be fan made color maps of the locations in the adventure that you can find on places like reddit and discord and then upload them to Roll20. Some even make sure they are the right size to keep the dynamic lighting lines working. That and use tile assets in roll20 to remake the maps in color, it is extra work, but man I dislike the black and white style maps so much. All of this to say I do try to go a step beyond just running the adventure as is, I think the extras help set the mood of the game and that includes color maps.
