Hi everyone, my name's Steven. I work overnights at my Hotel as a Night Auditor. Essentially I just sit at the desk in the office and handle anyone's problems 99% of the time, I have no interruptions during the night and i just play on my switch/watch twitch. I was looking to hopefully get into a DnD game on one of the nights im working (Tues-Frid.) starting at 10pm est. ending no later than 4:30am est. I could easily join discord and be 100% invested while only stepping away for a couple of mins a couple of times during the session. The only problem is that I am basically 100% new to any tabletop. I've tried playing with friends a few times, but every time has been a one-off Homebrew or we never even got out of character creation. I don't have any idea how to build a character, what to build a character towards, the spells or skills in the game, etc. However i am a quick learner, and would even be willing to put in time to study what i need to if necessary. I see a lot of people asking what characters that a person would be making in the LFG forums. Honestly I'm not 100% sure since I am so new. I do know that I would like to play a character with a robinhood personality maybe? Like they've had to scrape by their entire life but they still manage to give away what they can to people who need it more. They are morally good but sometimes the lines have to be blurred to survive. I'd like to use one handed blades in some fashion. Not interested in using a bow too much but i'd be willing to discuss anything with a DM, because I honestly dont have any idea what you can truly do in these games.
