Drag and Drop from Compendium dropped onto the wrong sheet and erased it

Hello, Just a few minutes ago, I tried to drag something from the compendium into a blank sheet. For no reason I can fathom, while it said it was accepting the drop into the correct sheet, it dropped into a different open one. This deleted all the work I put into a custom monster. Is there any way to get my work back? Am I just screwed? This is infuriating.
