[LFP] [Pathfinder 1e] Experienced Central Time Pathfinder GM looking for highly available players for RP heavy, twice-a-week game! New players entirely welcome.

Hey guys. My name's Gray and I've been DMing for about 12 years- mostly with 3.5 and Pathfinder 1e. I'm looking for self-motivated players who want to interact with the world more than they want to kill things. To be blunt, my games are MUCH more roleplay driven than combat/rollplay driven. Like 85/15 split.  For this group, I'd like to play pretty frequently- at least twice a week- so the more open your schedule is, the better.  As a point of reference, I am in CT -06:00.  My schedule is currently almost completely open most times, other than Monday and Friday evenings. As far as race and class restrictions go, I greatly prefer that players choose more "normal" races for their first character with me. Basically, a race that commonly appears in nearly every campaign you may have played in DnD- no monster races, obviously. I need to learn how they play without any gimmicks in the way. Once I'm comfortable with you, however, I'm open to most anything so long as the group is okay with it. As far as Classes go, Gunslinger, Summoner, Magus and some Occult classes are banned, but most all others are available. We'll of course be using Roll20 for the map and sheets and such, and Discord for voice communication. So, if this sounds like something that interests you, I'd love to hear back from you- new players especially. Make sure to include availability in your message as well as what you like to do as a player and what kind of games you enjoy. Hope to hear from you guys soon.  -Gray (And for any of you curious as to what Pathfinder is, I best sum it up as a much more polished and expanded on version of DnD 3.5. It is more complicated than 5e, but it allows you to do so much more with it. I've taught many a new player how to play, so don't feel like you're going to have to learn everything at once and on your own.)
Name : Aaron Age: 40 Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday after 3pm CST Experience: D&D 1e/2e/3e/3.5/5e, Pathfinder 1e, Gurps, Savage Worlds, Star wars Saga/d6 so forth. What you like to do as a player: I like playing casters (Arcane) like sorcerers, I also like gish classes like magus (But sense this isn't allowed I probably do sorcerer). I like trying to think outside of box with my spells such as: casting grease and then burning hands to set it on fire, or using electric spells wail enemy is in water to do double damage sense water is a conductor.  I usually play a CN or CG character these are my two easiest alignments for me to play in game. I also like openness within reason to design my character. And if need be I would be willing to fill a roll if party needs it. kind of games you enjoy: I like open world sandboxes, with also some story arks included. Where there is a goal for group but same time a player/character can do his/her own thing such a personal goal.
How long are you planning for each session to be?

I'm new here to Roll20, so I'll use the format above for my introduction since I don't know the established method of introducing oneself here. I find that it tends to vary site-by-site. Name : Matthew Age:  30 Availability:  Every day of the week except for Thursday and Saturday, any time between 5:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. EST. Experience:  I have been playing tabletop RPGs for about seventeen years. I have the most experience with Pathfinder and D&D 3.5, but I know several dozen systems. What you like to do as a player:  What I like to do as a player depends on the campaign. I love to roleplay and that is the one constant with my tastes. My builds are based on what kind of character I am creating, not vice versa. That said, I gravitate more towards divine casters, martial characters, and Kineticists in games as far as classes go. I also go more with the tried-and-true Human race in almost every game unless the theme makes another option vastly more appealing for roleplay purposes. I only rarely disappoint with my builds and work to make sure that they fit the party's dynamic. Kind of games you enjoy:  I enjoy nearly every type of game so long as it has a well-crafted narrative. Railroads... sandboxes... it's all the same to me at the end of the day as long as I am enjoying the game. I do like games that start at 5th level or above though because of how much I have played lower level games. Games that allow gestalt and third-party material are also a plus, though not a necessity. I also have a preference for text-based games and joined up a few days ago specifically to game in a faster-paced weekly PBP as opposed to the once-a-day asynchronous PBP that other sites offer.
I recently started using Roll20 and I'm an average player in most regards. I think I'll continue the format from above and keep the trend going. Name:  Keith but my user handle is Omni in most games. Age: I'm a young at heart 29. Availability: I'm available most nights and afternoons. I currently run a game on Sunday, that's the only day that doesn't work well for me. As for multiple sessions a week, I'm on board. Experience: I've played pathfinder for years and I have a bit of experience running games. I started RPing with DND3.5 when I was 17 and quickly moved on to the(in my opinion) far superior, Pathfinder 1e.  What you like to do as a player: I unfortunately have more experience DMing than I do actually playing and I think it's time to change that. I mostly see players running through campaigns on a murdering spree and giving no regard to solving an issue in a more thoughtful manner. I want to play with more RP in mind. I would like to find a party who can take back a fort from Ogres by another means than storming the front gate and getting the party almost wiped, only surviving because the DM (me) wants to continue playing for more than 3 days. I've always wanted to play a half Occultist, half Investigator character based on the concept of Constantine.  Kind of games you enjoy: I like interacting with the other players in a game setting more than straight combat. I Have a vast board game library and RPG rule book collection and I basically never get to play any of them. Most of my friends have moved away and the few I have run busy lives. I'm a very fluid gamer. Either following the rules fairly strictly, or letting caution to the wind and just doing what comes naturally.
Name : David, also go by Dave. Age/Experience : Mid twenties, I've played DnD 5e via tabletop for more than two years now and have maybe 13 different campaigns I've played in, nine to completion, and 3.5/pathfinder via video game conversions and about three campaigns, none of which ended when they were supposed to. I've got more limited experience on roll 20, although I know enough to do some basic micros and such. Availability :  In central time,   Friday 6:00 pm onward, Saturday all day, Sundays before 9:00 pm central. No hard promises Monday-Thursday, but I should be able to do Wednesday and Thursday evenings after 6:00 pm. Player preferences: I tend to go for serious characters with some sort of tie into the game-world and a some central goal or mission-I usually try to clear this with the DM so it's not at odds with the theme. While the characters basic concept is serious I'm also very big on improv as a player, and I like to go for character driven decisions. Some of my favorite characters are fighters and rogues, but I also like sorcerers, the occasional wizard, and sometimes clerics and more exotic classes like swashbucklers. I also don't like multi-classing unless there is a reason for it. My preference is classes that leave a lot of thematic room, and who define a character to only a small degree relative to who they are as a person-although I like Paladins when it's time for a good old fashioned high fantasy. I like intrigue, heists, urban adventures, and morally gray fantasy by preference; my favorite published setting is Eberron , which should characterize that if you're familiar with it. One of my favorite campaigns was about adventuring in a port city themed after Venice, with myself as the scion of a foreign merchant house; we were approached by a mysterious figure to rescue a local rebel from the corrupt mayor, and in a  natural, reasonable progression of events burned down half the city and got the hero killed, framed the mayor, led a popular revolt, and ended up declaring ourselves the ruling council of the city with myself as the new mayor. In the first session. Zany yet serious, objective and character driven, with a fast moving RP heavy plot. One other thing to note is I'm a big an of rolling for stats, because A. Point buy encourages cookie cutter classes, and B. I don't like feeling as if my character is penalized because I wanted my fighter to be capable of basic math. Rolling for stats is more likely to result in an even spread of sub-optimal stats, which let's me play around with it more and end up with a character who isn't a designated maladjusted misanthrope via the attribute array.  That said, I'm willing to do whatever. Just thought that informed you about what kind of player I am.
Name : Matt Age:  21 Availability:  Monday (Free until 7pm EST), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday (Free until 7pm EST) Experience:  I have been lucky enough to play a large swath of games like Pathfinder 1E & 2E, D&D 5E, 3.5, A Song of Ice and Fire RPG, Cyberpunk 2020, Paranoia, World of Darkness (VTM, WTA,WTO, CTD, Ect) and many other systems. I was lucky to grow up in a household where my mother encouraged my love for theatre, literature, and gaming as she was a fellow D&D nerd and would even play as a family together.  What you like to do as a player: I as a player find that cooperation and taking in account the other players as a main goal for myself. In many ways I see tabletop as a group storytelling experience, and it’s important to make sure everyone at the table has their moment to shine. So with that in mind I tend to try playing a fill/flex role within my games, trying to make compelling and interesting characters that are built to mesh and work with the other players, because I find that it’s important to make sure that everyone can work together but also have their moments and times in the spotlight. Though with that said I am by no means a passive player, in plenty of my games I take on the role of “face” to act as the voice for the party, as I myself tend to be a rather extroverted person, playing the sociable character is always an easy in for me though at the end of the day I find it more important to make a compelling person than it is to just have some numbers on a sheet. kind of games you enjoy:  I personally find enjoyment in many games, but I always prefer a narrative focused game over a combat slog any day of the week. If the GM is having fun, the players are having fun, then it’s enjoyable for me and presumably everyone else. But a deep and rich RP experience is something that I always strive to find, though it can be hard with the Pathfinder community on Roll20.
Name : Tanner Age:  25+ Availability:  Mon-Thurst after 9 pm cst Experience:  dnd 5e, fate, masks, played a one shot in pathfinder 1 What you like to do as a player:  I just started playing spellcasters in dnd as they kind of overwhelm me but i tend to like playing the martial classes as I like to get up in the mix. But I also like to play the thinker type, the ones who use strategy over brute force to solve a problem. The more stealthy types. I like RP heavy stories, building the world with the Dm and players. creating characters with dynamic backstories and the chance to change and grow as the campaign goes on. kind of games you enjoy:  games where the players choices and backstories have an impact on the world, maybe small, but just where one doesn't feel like a cameraman in the world but more like a player in it. Games with a fun story that engages the player and draws them in as they explore it together with the players and DM.  e xtra note: not really played pathfinder, always consider it, but the system always kind of overwhelms me as I know next to nothing about it. Got into TTRPGs through watching critical role so learned most of my dnd stuff from there. But I'm sure I could have fun with pathfinder if I just had some time to play with it, I'm more a hands on kind of learner, looking at the book just overwhelms me with the various terms and rules.

Name: Lucas Age: 21 Availability: Mon after 3pm, Fri after 3pm, Sat after 1pm (I live in PST or GMT-8) Experience: Years of dnd 4 and 5e, moderate CoC and VtM, a few sessions of P1e What you like to do as a player : I play pretty much anything and enjoy making characters, I enjoy RP a lot and enjoy playing sub-optimally in order to create a cool character, I am pretty good at writing backstories and world lore, and its something I enjoy. Kind of Games you enjoy : I like when players start humble, and over time grow into being heroes/powerful/influential, and having epic moments, having the DM utilize the backstory I gave them is very satisfying. Im fine with pretty much any style of game. Extra Note: I have read through some of the P1e material, and have played a few sessions, and would like to get more into it, it would also be nice to find a group of people that i get along with.
Name: Ryan Age: 29 Availability: Most days starting around 7pm EST, except for Saturdays. Experience: More than 12 years of D&D (from 3.5 to 5e), Pathfinder, White Wolf and Fantasy Flight 40k What you do as a player: I love roleplaying and making friends, though I'll admit to also being a compulsive minmaxer that can give me a little trouble sometimes. I like to come up with new and exotic character ideas with backstories and themes I haven't seen before. Games enjoyed: My favorite kind of game is that with a serious story that's not going to be derailed by the characters being sarcastic jackasses. I'm happy to play anything from courtly intrigue to dungeon crawlers, but I definitely prefer to include character development rather than simple roll-play.
Its been 1 week sense I posted and GM posted. I think thread is dead, and GM vanished.
