[LFG] New player and aspiring GM looking to learn

Hey everyone! I'm a 26 year old feller who ain't never played myself a tabletop RPG! I grew up playing MUD's and CRPG's, as well as taking part in my fair share of free form text-based RP as well as in online games like NWN and even GTA 5. I've had an interest in tabletop for a long time and my friend group had discussed starting a campaign on many occasions, though put it off due to lack of an experienced GM in the group. Recently I've taken to building worlds, and that in combination with binge watching a few campaign series' has driven me to pursue my dreams at all costs. I'm definitely most interested in the roleplaying aspect, although I'm a big fan of combat in general, having grown up playing games like Icewind Dale and the like. With that in mind I'm happy to use any system, and have a special interest in homebrew campaigns. I also do voices and have been told I ain't too shabby! When it comes to dates and times I'm flexible especially for the right fit as I work from home.

Are you looking to DM for a group or play in one? I feel like you could be asking for both but can't be certain based on what you wrote.

I'm definitely interested in DMing but I'd prefer to get some playing experience first. Mostly just looking to get involved.

Hey!  I'm also new to tabletop RPGs. I spent hours listening to numerous actual play D&D podcasts and i'd like to finally throw my hat in the mix.  If you end up getting a group together all I ask is that you keep me in mind!  

Pretty much in the same boat. if your trying to put a group together and are open to it I'd love to join. I'm not totally new but I'm still pretty inexperienced and have mostly played pathfinder.

Another one here. It sounds like I'm in a similar position to you. I've played a lot of CRPGs, going back about 20 years or so, but have no experience with tabletop other than reading some 3.5 sourcebooks when that was the current thing. Well, plus I just bought the 5E Essentials Kit to try to learn but had to be the DM and player at the same time and, well, that didn't end well, ha. It's been something I've been interested in for most of my life but no one I know in real life has the slightest interest in it at all and there are no nearby groups I can find. I live in the UK, by the way, but I tend to be up late so my timezone is effectively more US than UK.

we could probably all form a group up together!

Hi, I've played table top games before but they have always been model based. I've been reading the 5th edition starter books would like try the game.

Hey everyone! thanks heaps for the responses. I decided there was enough interest to try and start a group up so I've made a discord server and PM'd people who expressed interest. If anyone else is interested just let me know!
