Hello My name is Anders and I have spend several years and much effort trying to figure out the best way to teach others how to play pen and paper. I want to create a series of one-evening courses for beginners who wants to learn how to play pathfinder. For each event I need 3-4 participants at a time. I always run my games relatively rules light, so have no fear if you cannot remember all the rules. The most important element is that you have fun with these games, but you have to contribute in order to make this game work. Everyone contributes in their own way, and everyone likes to have fun. Just make sure that your actions within the game does not spoil the fun for everyone else. You have to work together with the other players to solve the challenges you are faced with, every character has his or her own advantages, skills and flaws and so they need each other. Whenever you are in doubt of something. Just ask! ;) I hope you want to join me for an exciting experience. Anders Stage By the way, I live in Denmark (GMT +1 hour)
Im looking to find something fitting to get into pen & paper, dont really have any background in it worth mentioning. I dont really know anything about pathfinder but i could always read up on it. i live in sweden
I'm very interested in learning how to play ^^
I have been curious too, Wed/Thur are best for me.
Thursdays and Mondays work best for me :P
I think Anders is probably sleeping, I mean, its like two in the morning :D Here is the actual campaign if you haven't seen the looking for group for it yet. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/383123/pathfinder-for-beginners-the-spider-temple

I've played 3.5 in the past. I'm new to both roll20.net and Pathfinder though.

I have played a little D&D 3.5. I didn't play long enough to get very knowledgeable or experienced. I feel like there is a joke here about levels or experience points or something. Oh well. I am interested in learning Pathfinder.
Hello everyone! I am very pleased that so many people have applied for my introduction course. This first session is filled, but since there are so many interested applicants I will start organizing the second course. So Mikey, Shawn, Michael and Derek, you hear from me soon enough. I want to see how this first course turns out, and work in the feedback i receive from the participants. I am going to invite you all to Pathfinder for Beginners - The Spider Temple (2) which will be on either Wednesday the 7th or Thursday the 8th of may. I have another campaign going next Wednesday, and I do not have time next thursday ;) How does that sound?
I think that will work for me.
Works for me ^^
Derek B. said: I have been curious too, Wed/Thur are best for me. Michael H. said: I've played 3.5 in the past. I'm new to both roll20.net and Pathfinder though. What about you two?
Anders if you're still taking on people for this in the future I'd love to take part. I'd like to start DMing Pathfinder myself for my friends, however I have no experience with the system - the system is by and large the closest fit for what my friends want in a tabletop. So ideally I'd like to get some hands on experience with it rather than going in blind with them.
I would love to play if you are willing to teach. I have Beginner Box experience mostly, oh and all the previous additions of D&D also. I would love to learn more about Pathfinder though.
You are both very welcome, i have not heard from Derek and Michael about the dates 7th and 8th of may, so you could be joining up with Mikey and Shawn if that suits you ;)
Suits me fine! Is there anything in particular you'd want the player to bring to the session?
Not much, but I will elaborate more in the campaign info. There is not really anything you need besides a headset and Roll20 :)
Hey there. If you're still running a sessions, I wouldn't mind learning this. I've done other systems for years and just started reading up on pathfinder yesterday. Seems like it could be fun ;)
Well I'm always looking for other applicants who wants to join ;)
Yippie! :) I'll follow this thread for details, or feel free to PM here if you prefer. I'm on here often, so I'll get it quick. There's so much to learn, so many rules to memorize... I...I may love this stuff too much :)
I do not run rules heavy games, so don't worry too much about those...
I'd be interested in learning Pathfinder as well; don't have a lot of experience with D&D or Pathfinder, always have been interested in learning how to play them!
Sure ;=)
Hi i'm very much interested, I've recently obtained the game but i'm struggling to find a group to play with. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure the dates listed will work for me.
I'm also interested in taking part in this.
If you are still doing this I too am very interested. I been looking around here for a beginners group but the last one I found spent more time coordinating time than actually playing then when they did it was a t the crack of night when I was asleep. I have experence with d20 modern but none with pathfinder and I'm more of a fantasy kinda gal so Pathfinder and DnD is what I'm looking for. I'm already commited for sundays as well as an undertermined day for another group playtesting his own system. Please contact me if you are still inviting
I have not found a suitable date for the third course, but I will post a suggestion next week, and then I will contact each of you ;)

ALL-RIGHTY-THEN!!!!! The next intro session will be either the 15th or the 22nd of may 2014. The time will be 7:05PM Danish Time (GMT+1) How many of you are still interested, and what dates suits you?
Well, I cannot do the 15th. That is sort of my wife's birthday, so I don't think that would go over well. I should have no problem with the 22nd.
Anders, I would like to join a session if I may. I know the game very well but I'm curious to see how others go about explaining it to new players, from a teaching perspective. (EDIT): Actually never mind; I didn't pick up on the GMT +1. It'll be during my workday)
Hey! Count me in, please!
Okay then how about the 22nd 7pm danish time! (GMT+1) How many are interested? Vicky and Caxton are up for it so I need two more participants for the next course!
May I join? I have ZERO experience with pen and paper
Rory you are very welcome! There is now one slot left for anyone interested in joining on the 22nd of may
How do I start?
You do not need any preparation before the game. When I have set up the adventure here in R20 I will send invitations to the game. There you will be presented with the different intro characters and some general info on how I run the game. I will teach you the game rules during the game itself.
Ok, thank you!
No problemo!
