Everyone dealt in (even when not there)?

I'm using cards for initiative in a Savage campaign. Playing last night it appeared we got all the way through the deck without a joker. Furthermore, it appeared as GM I had the option to deal to players who weren't present. I wondered if the "everyone" option was dealing in non-present players? If so, is selecting the individual players the only way around this? Thanks much!

You are correct that 'everyone' deals to players that are not present. This is probably useful for asynchronous play.  To deal to everyone that is present you can select multiple names in the name field and then hit deal. - Gauss
