Black Map - Error only on Profile

Hi, I have an issue that I can't seem to find anyone dealing with before. One of my players all of a sudden stopped seeing all maps. It just shows up black. The chat, video and voice work. All maps, however, appear completely black. The rest of the players see everything. Not only this, but there is no dynamic lighting or fog of war or anything like that. There are no tokens on the map either. The player cannot ping either. It's not related to the browser or PC because I tried logging in with his account on my computer and it was also completely black. I created a brand new test profile and logged in and could see again clearly. The problem is specifically tied to that player profile! ANd it was working fine, it literally stopped from one second to the next. Please help. thanks!
Nobody? My player has this problem and it still persists :(
I don't have a definitive answer, but two things that have caused unexplained blackouts before are the chat archive and a graphics accelerator. To test the chat archive theory, the gm must delete the chat archive. You can make a copy first if you may want information in it in the future. This is not clearing the in-game chat. The chat archive is cleared from outside the game, on the launch page, in the settings menu. Then shut down roll20 for yourself and your player and re-open, fingers crossed. To test the graphics accelerator theory, the player needs to uninstall the graphics accelerator, and re-install it on their computer. This seems unlikely since you can get the same error by logging in as the player, but it's easy enough to try just in case. You didn't mention what browsers you have tried. Chrome typically works best -- I have periodic problems with Safari. One other thing comes to mind that might be worth trying. Is it possible your player is lost on a black page, separate from the rest of the group? I had one player who had to be moved manually from page to page for a while, just would not re-connect with the player banner. Hope there is something helpful here. If not, keep asking. The community is usually very responsive.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with the site. You mentioned that it shouldn't be a browser issue, but can you please have your player follow Steps 1-3 , taking care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please have them follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist them. You may also want to try copying the game to see if the issue persists, and disabling fog of war if it's enabled. You can also write in to team@roll20.net if you'd like us to help with the issue over e-mail.
