[LFP][5E] - Looking for players new to D&D

Hello Everyone, I've been wanting to DM a group through Dragon of Icespire Peak since it came out. With it being a starter module designed to introduce new players to D&D I figured it would be a good idea to run a game for people that are new to Dungeons and Dragons. If you have never played before and are looking for a place to start, or maybe you have just played a little bit but never had a chance to really sit down and learn the game and play it to it's fullest this might be the game for you.  All that the players need is a working mic and discord for voice chat. All D&D related resources that will be needed will be provided. We will also spend the first session, also known as session 0, going over character creation and basic rules.  I plan on playing the games on Friday evenings between 7pm to 10pm CST. The game will be played using roll 20 and voice chat over discord. If this sounds like it might be for you let me know, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Jeremy, I played a little bit of 3.5 in high school which was 12 years ago, I recently became re-interested thanks to CriticalRole. Functionally speaking I have no experience with 5E or Roll20, so this sounds like exactly what I'm looking for but I have a couple questions. How many sessions will this be likely to run? And what books will be allowed for character creation? Also is there any more information that you need from me as a player? My Discord is ScaryGhost #2160

With the game being primarily for newer players I don't really expect potential players to be coming in with experience or to even have an idea as to what they want to play yet. As far as the players themselves all I ask is that they are able to play weekly at the time stated and that they bring a good attitude toward the game. With the sessions being 3 hours long each I expect we will get at least 10 sessions out of this campaign. Though it's hard to say for sure as playtime can vary depending on the party involved.  I am good with allowing any of the published content from the 5e books that have came out. 

The only experience I have is video game RPGs. Can't get any newer than me lol

I am in a weird boat where I have some experience but should still be considered a new. I have been in a 3.5 home brew for a few months no, but i have 0 experience in 5e

Hi, I am interested in joining the game if you will have me. I have never played D&D before, as I have never had any irl friends that play. I think d&d is something I would really enjoy getting into as I love crpgs and board games but without knowing anyone who plays, I have not yet figured out how to get into it. Thanks!

I'm interested as well.  I have played some tabletop AD&D 2nd ed like 15 years ago, I assume you'll be using 5E?  Since then I have played plenty of computer RPGs including many that use D&D rules or pathfinder but I have not played a pure tabletop 5E and I'm new to roll20.  I've wanted to get back into tabletop but living in a rural area makes a local game tough and I have not researched the online options until now.  I'm CST as well and Fri nights work great for me.  Thanks.

Hello Jeremy. I'd be interested n joining your game if you'll have me. I played a lot of 2nd edition when I was in college (as a player and DM). I also played 5th edition Tomb of Annihilation with some friends in a 2x mo. tabletop setting. I've never used Roll20 or discord, but figure that with a lot of us being home more than we are used to, now might be a good time to explore other avenues for games/interaction. I'm not really a power gaming min/max stat based guy, I'm more of RP, sit around and have some laughs interacting with NPC's and other PC's kind player. I have a PHB, XGE, and SCAG.
