I have written a pretty cool adventure and a few of my friends what to run it for their other gaming groups. Is there a way to share my adventure with them so that they can run it, without just copying over this adventure and inviting them, and then making them a DM?

That is going to be the way to do it.  Otherwise, you would need to set it up as a module or addon for sale on the marketplace with all the rules that would go along with that.
