I'm a DM currently hosting a west-marches/rogue-like LotFP game. For people that don't know, Lamentations is a spin off of old school role playing games focusing on weird/horror themes. There is currently around 11 members playing, each week there is 1-2 slots where anyone can join, there is no commitment to attend more than one session and the sessions are episodic, however each session will play in the same universe. It's brutal difficulty, your safety is not guaranteed, any character you make for a session very well might not make it to the next. The campaign is set in medieval times, and progression is centred around a guild called The Crows Perch. Completing quests and missions for the guild will unlock rewards that will benefit every player. For example the guild eventually be able to afford to recruit higher leveled adventurers, increasing the starting level from level 3 to level 4. People who have played the game Darkest Dungeon will be quite familiar with what mechanics to expect. One of the benefits of a west-marches gametype is flexibility, if you have a busy schedule that means you can't commit to fixed session times, this will be up your alley as sessions are set up on a week to week basis depending on when 3-5 players have the same time free to play a 4 hour game. New players are welcome, we're all pretty new to this game type so we will be going over the basics of the rules often for people unsure of what it will entail. Thanks for reading, let me know if this is something you might like to join!
